Excellent exam and treatment. Friendly and easy to get to and park. Good scheduling means there isn't a full waiting room full of patients. It is the activator method which works for many people. I prefer a full crunch but it worked for me. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Jamal for over 10 years. I initially went for an acute injury, and as my health improved, I started to get into a prevent treatment plan. I know see him once a month and my asthma is under the best control of my life! He has also helped me with eating habits and really has a holistic approach to medicine. His office is in a great location in Acton and the medical suite is updated and a really pleasant environment. I highly recommend his services. I'm a fan of chiropractic, as it has always helped me manage my headaches and stiffness in neck/shoulders/back (mainly due to stress). However, when I moved to a new area I was really unsure of how to pick a new chiropractor. I tried out Terry Anelons in Ayer, MA and loved him - he had the exact same style as my former chiropractor. But, it was a little too far for me to travel on a regular basis so I looked for something in town and stumbled upon De Vita Chiropractic. I am so glad I did! Dr. Tom and his son, Dr. Jamal, are both experienced, kind, and helpful. I saw them specifically for some lower back muscle spasms that were making it hard to walk, sit, or stand without feeling serious pain. My wedding was only a week away and I was, quite honestly, freaking out that I would spend the day in pain. In just a few treatments, I was feeling MUCH better. They use some methods I had never heard of before, but explained everything in detail and so I felt confident in their approach. (Don't worry, none of it is creepy!) A few weeks later, I have full range of motion back and am regularly seeing them for maintenance. I'm so glad to have found a reliable chiropractor here in Acton! First let me say this is my first yelp review but feel their excellent care should not go unnoticed. What can I say. First of all, the office staff are so awesome, so pleasant to deal with. They do their absolute best to work with your schedule and always succeed. Dr. Tom and Dr Jamal are awesome. Their treatment was modified daily according to my symptoms. They greatly reduced my pain and knew when it was time to involve other physicians. They listened to me, answered all my questions and I never felt like they needed to rush out of the room. Their diagnosis of the problem was spot on, confirmed by an MRI. Thank you for all you've done to help and all the pain relief I received from your treatments. Both Dr. DeVita's helped me after I fell, and then after I fell again, hurting my shoulder. I have seen chiropractors before, but I was living in a new area. The got me out of pain after a few treatments. Then I fell again - that took a little longer to heal and I now have 80% mobility in my shoulder and it's getting better. Not everyone responds to chiropractor, but not the case with me. I also liked the fact that when one couldn't see you, the other could. They both listen carefully to your pain level and what's been going on. Their office staff is pleasant and their office hours are flexible. They've even squeezed me in on the same day. Although DeVita was recommended by my husband, I found their treatment to be not only ineffective, but I am now in more pain than I was in than when I started 3 months ago. It seems, if their "activator" treatment works, it works, but if not, they have nothing else. At a recent visit, after treatment with Dr. Jamal, I could barely walk out of the office or sit in my car. For the following week I was in terrible pain, and my feet were tingling. In my next (and last) visit, I told Dr. Jamal about this and he expressed some concern, but did nothing different. I got the same 8 minute treatment I got every other visit. When I got off the table, I reported I was still in pain and my foot was tingling. He shrugged his shoulders and said, "Hopefully that will work itself out" (It hasn't, but after 10 days without treatment, I am in somewhat less pain) Dr. Tom's response to reports of continued pain were no more productive, first blaming my mattress, and then suggesting I take hot showers in the morning (which didn't help). He gave me exercises to do that made my back feel worse, and when I told him that, he looked at how I was doing them to assure they were being done correctly, and then told me not to do them if they hurt. Again - they seem to have only 1 strategy of addressing back pain, and express good natured non-concern if it's not working. If you live out in the suburbs and need to go to an excellent Chiropractor: THIS IS the place to go! I have been seeing Dr Tom Devita now for 15+ years, and he has been amazing! Both he and his son are highly skilled, attentive, listen to your issues and are extremely knowledge-able about their practice, industry and your back. The activator technique is painless, quick and incredibly affective. I would not be walking today if it wasn't for their attentive care. I live over 30 minutes away...but its a drive I do happily when I need to see them. As others have commented: they work with you to fit you into their schedule last minute when needed. Why? I am a 60 year old woman and have thyroid disease that caused me to have osteoporosis at the age of 56. My mom suffered horribly with osteoporosis and back pain and back deformity; I was frightened that I would go through the same progression as she did. With thyroid and osteoporosis treatment, I have reversed the osteoporosis and now have minor osteopenia. I was starting to suffer nerve pinches of pain, fairly significant stiffness, and lack of mobility. I was completely skeptical of having a chiropractor help.
