I had a torn meniscus and went to PT before and then for several months after surgery. Kevin is so easy to work with - pleasant, knowledgeable, hands on, happy to explain as much as you want to know, and confident about his recommendations. He sees a wide range of people from young kids to older adults, and he seems to have a good time interacting with all of them (ie, he has a great bedside manner). It is also very easy to schedule or change appointments. You simply call and get a live, helpful person who quickly finds you an appointment (shocking!). The whole experience was excellent, and I have since referred two friends to Kevin who have also become fans. This was my first experience with PT, but my friends have seen several therapists over the years and think Kevin is the best of them.

We went to two different Ortho doctors and had 2 MRI's done over the course of two years. Both said she was fine and the results were normal. One Ortho told us to have her stop catching if she doesn't want her knee to hurt anymore. So it got to the point that we started believing the doctors and telling our daughter that she was fine and it would eventually stop. I met Dr. McGovern through Ally's new softball coach, he said "If there is something wrong, he will fix it" Now mind you we are coming up on 3 years of knee pain. Kevin met Ally and in less than 5 minutes felt a pocket of swelling in her knee and was like, that's the problem. He then asked Ally to do some simple movements, movements she could not do or not do well. So he started working with her and helped build up a solid foundation and to build the muscles in her body. She's been working with Kevin for 3 months and has told us she no longer feels any knee pain!! She now is excited to keep working with Kevin on strength and speed. I cannot be more pleased. I will never be able to thank Dr. McGovern enough for taking away my daughters pain. DO NOT HESITATE to reach out to this guy. If you are living in pain, been told there is nothing that can be done or if you're told you need surgery. Just take and minute and reach out to Dr. McGovern. Let him be your second opinion.

It was a very difficult recovery and Melissa was so helpful getting me back to my normal activities that I sought her out again when I had a right shoulder rotator cuff tear and subsequent surgery in July 2017. PT Associates is out of network for me, but I knew that with the difficult road ahead (this was an unfortunate injury), I had to have Melissa as my physical therapist again. She is experienced, patient, perceptive, thoughtful and has a soothing calmness that made me comfortable. I had some problems, including frozen shoulder, so my recovery was long and painful. Melissa was always encouraging, but balanced in what my expectations should be and she was firm when she needed me to curb my activities. I am also impressed by her knowledge and ability to find innovative ways to help me move forward when I hit plateaus. I had my last appointment with Melissa today and am so grateful for her dedication to her patients. In closing, I would also like to mention that the entire staff at PT Associates was great. She was instrumental in decreasing my pain and swelling, advising me on next steps, and finding the right surgeon to reattach my hamstrings. After surgery I continued with PTAoC and worked with Melissa for nearly a year. Her positivity and good judgment saw me through small gains like fully straightening my leg and sitting upright to bigger ones like walking, stair climbing, and ultimately, exercise again. Her sense of humor and ability to connect could distract me from discomfort or focus me on exercise when each were needed. When my patience wore thin and I thought I would never be well again, Melissa reminded me with a calm and quiet confidence not to rush my healing or compare myself to others, but to do my best achieving my own goals. She never offered false hope about a quick recovery, but pointed out, time and again, how it was making me a better trainer. A year out from surgery I can say that it has, and every day I find opportunities to pay forward to my own clients the good lessons I learned in her care.
