Being a Zinfandel guy, the bartender turned me to the Girard "Old Vine" Zinfandel. This is a pricy wine at $25/glass. I enjoyed the hell out of it as it's one of the better Zinfandel's I've ever had. Definitely steep at $25. I probably should've gone with the wine flight which is what my friend did before he switched to a Malbec. I forgot which one he did but the flights are all prearranged to compliment one another. It makes for a nice experience if you're not sure what wine you want to zero in on. As for food, we paired our wine with a charcuterie board. It's a standard board with some baguette slices and a mix of cheeses and meats with a candied jalapeno spread.
