We went for the first time on Valentine's Day and had a great time. We've driven past it multiple times and never stopped in. Well, that was a mistake. Started off with a complementary puff pastry, then a lobster bisque, filet mignon and finished it off with my wife and I going different ways with a tasty cheesecake and likewise delicious crème brûlée. The venue is perfect. An old renovated farm house with tons of Texas charm! Our waitress, Lori, was fantastic. She was very cordial, knowledgeable, and more than gracious. She gave us great recommendations from the menu, the service was prompt and professional. She even invited us to take our wine and walk around the grounds while our meal was prepared. We haven't been out here for years and I was looking for something different for Father's Day dinner. What a great experience. Sue and Patrick took great care of us during our visit. There were actually grape vines right outside the window. I started with a garden salad that was chock full of fresh greens and dressed lightly as to not overwhelm the salad. My entree was the smoked ribeye. Incredible taste. No steak sauce required. It came with roasted potatoes, carrots, and green beans. For dessert we had the tuxedo cake. It was a cake with a lot of layers of cake and vanilla cream and chocolate cream, and a side of fresh whipped cream. We had good conversation with the staff and my wife found they knew people she knew from Bulverde. Even ran into an old Sunday School classmate. We held a rehearsal dinner and welcome party this weekend at Oak Vally for our son's wedding. The management and owners were so helpful during our visits that we knew it would be beautiful! Good food at each visit including shrimp and grits, smoked ribeye, salmon, brunch, and wagyu burger. Dinner was in the big room in the restaurant and handled our 35 people and then we moved outside to the pavilion for the Welcome Party. I wish I can give more than 5 stars. Oak Valley Vineyard deserves more than 5 stars. First let's talk about the food. Chef Paul outdid himself making the Waygu Burger. So tender and juicy. What gave it a nice touch was the fried cream cheese. Excellent job. The Poblano Chicken with Bow-Tie Pasta was fresh and the chicken was tender. On top of that the poblano cream sauce gave it a nice flavor paired with the chicken. We could not have asked for a better service. Hailie was our server for a party of 18. 18 orders and not one issue with any of our orders. Her friendliness and passion to make sure we all had an excellent experience was noticeable. My wife and I were so pleased and hope to have her again when we return. The environment was intimate. I enjoyed the wine cellar seating that was near a fireplace downstairs. It felt cozy and recommend having a bottle of wine and soak in the environment. Highly recommend taking a stroll around the building to their Vineyard that has a gorgeous view. Meet the Business Owner: Tim and Beth C.

We were both born and raised in South Texas and after several years of living throughout the South we are very happy to be back home in San Antonio. The Texas Hill Country has always been our favorite place and we have brought what we have learned from more than 30 years in the hospitality business to Oak Valley Vineyards. Additionally we have gathered some wonderful culinary ideas and recipes from time spent in other parts of Texas as well as other states. We invite you to visit Oak Valley Vineyards Restaurant for dinner or maybe a weekend brunch. Excellent time spent and excellent place. Went for our wedding anniversary and we both loved it! Great romantic dinner experience. The service and attention was really good. (Even though I kind of noticed the waiters had their hands full attending all the customers and had a lot going on for them, but they managed to serve and attend as best they could. Maybe getting a couple more waiters can ease the job) Got the romantic package and it was awesome. My wife absolutely loved it. The food was great. You get your money's worth. All I can say is that we left "stuffed". I don't believe either of us finished our whole plate. The food's taste was ok in my opinion. I'm not downplaying it or saying it's bad...it's really good, but for my palette's taste it was ok. I understand we all have different likes and tastes in flavors so it's a matter of you tasting the food and making your own decision. But trust me, no matter what plate you choose from the menu, you will NOT be disappointed. Thank you, Oak Valley Vineyard. We will definitely visit again. read more

I had written to Beth to tell her about how wonderful our experience was and about how we are planning on going back for sure. It is an evening I will never forget, and I can't thank the Josh and Beth enough for making it possible. Their responsiveness and their willingness to make all the necessary arrangements with me over the phone and in person in order for me to look like a hero is an automatic "A" in my book. I was hoping for good, and got so much more. I think my friend was absolutely blown away, and to see the look on her face after we were walked outside to our private table after an already very special evening, to me that was priceless. If you want to score points with your wife or just because you want to make a good friend feel special I highly recommend this place. Get the romance package, it's worth it. Everything from the moment we walked through the front door to the moment we left was amazing. A truly romantic getaway from the everyday without having to go overboard. read more

Recently visited the Vineyards Restaurant for my wife and I's 1 year wedding anniversary . We sat in what they like to call their "patio" which had an elegant view of their Vineyards . We were then greeted by our Server Chad Who helped us feel at home explaining to us about the restaurants history, weddings that were held there, and their very own wine. For Dinner we went ahead and went with there " 5 Course Meal" which also had a nice wine pairing with it. Ever course was spot on from the Parmesan Crusted Shrimp all the way to the 45 Day Aged Filet. I was very impressed when Chef Clayton came to our table and asked how everything was , explained to my wife and i how each course was prepared. I really wish more restaurants would do that. For dessert they had a table set outside in the acutal VIneyards with a creme brule paired with my fav. "20 yr Tawny Port" . All in all it was the best meal I've had in a long time. My husband and I got married at OAK VALLEY VINEYARDS on 8/11/2019. Choosing OAK VALLEY VINEYARDS as our wedding venue was the best decision! EVERYTHING went very smoothly, beautifully, and the whole event was a complete hit! The event started on time, all the staff knew what they were doing, Beth & Lori were on top of EVERYTHING and it made the day so much better knowing that we didn't have to worry about anything but having a great time. I recommend OAK VALLEY VINEYARDS to everyone because the venue is gorgeous, the outside space is stunning (we had our ceremony and reception outside), very little extra decor is needed, and all the staff, including Beth & Lori, are incredibly helpful, nice, polite, and they know what they're doing! In addition, the in-house florist and DJ were amazing! Planning an out of state wedding was super stressful but this entire team was there for us every step of the way. It truly surpassed our expectations in every way. read more

I am honestly shocked that their are negative reviews on here, I believe a lot of these individuals must not get out much.. Oak Valley has incredible ambience, it is romantic, low key and quaint. Not only is the atmosphere wonderful but the food is spectacular. I had the sea bass (which there are a few reviews that say it wasn't wonderful but it is sooo wonderful, it is moist, flavorful and the sides were delicious), my husband had the prime cut (which YES is a prime cut, not sure about those reviews either) and the wines- they have every type imaginable which is nice. But best of all, the sticky toffee pudding. For those complaining about dinner taking an hour to an hour and a half- why would you not want to enjoy a dinner at such a gorgeous restaurant, who wants to speed through a dinner at a place such as this! Please give it a chance and you will be pleasantly surprised as we were! We will most definitely be going back! read more

My wife and I celebrated our 3 year anniversary at the Vineyards this year. We wanted to try something new and we herd so much about this place. From our experience, this was by far our best anniversary date ever. The wine was awesome and the food was to die for. It wasnt a busy night so we were fortunate to get a table to ourselves down in the wine cellar. The cellar is very romantic and with no one else down there we were able to enjoy ourselves without worrying about disturbing nearby tables. Between apps and our dinner we walked the beautiful property with our wine, we took our time and our food was served as soon as we were ready for it. It was AWESOME. We would recommend The Vineyards to anyone who loves wine, great food, and outstanding service. read more

I have eaten dinner here personally with a friend and I have held 2 separate events with 125 guests and everything is always superb.....if a Lamb dish is featured as a special I promise you won't be disappointed...but I can say that about their Shrimp, Chicken, and Salmon dishes as well! The Host, Server and even the Chef are very accomodating and attentive. They even adapted a few of their recipes for a couple of my vegetarian friends with short notice. Whether you are looking for a romantic dinner, girls night, bridal shower, rehearsal dinner or wedding venue with reception or just a great meal alone.....Oak Valley Vineyard is your best bet. Beth and her wonderful staff will take awesome care of you....and you can't beat the beauty of the Vineyard! read more

We had an absolutely wonderful experience at this restaurant. From the moment we walked in the service was impeccable friendly, knowledgeable and very attentive. The setting is spectacular with soaring ceilings, subtle art deco details, and a lovely view of Oak Valley Vineyards Restaurant. We decided to try the Winter tasting menu and wine pairings, and we were not disappointed. Each course was wonderful, building on the one before it, and the wines with some interesting, out of the ordinary choices matched perfectly. And the Chef stopped by to visit us 2x! I can't say enough good things about this restaurant, we were very pleasantly surprised. It had taken us a while to visit Eleven Madison Park, but we will most definitely be back again very soon. read more

Our daughter got married abroad and we held a reception for the happy couple at Oak Valley Vineyard on April 1. The staff was wonderful to work with--Beth especially-.. She was so efficient and took so much pressure off me. I used a DJ and photographer she suggested and they were exactly what we wanted. Our event was just magical. The venue was gorgeous,the food was fabulous, everyone had a blast, and my daughter and son-in-law were thrilled. Several guest commented that it was the most delightful, fun reception they've ever attended. It was for me too. We had our wedding ceremony and reception back in 2014. It was a quaint little place, and the price was reasonable. However their policy on setting up added stress to our day. They only allow you to come and set up your tables, decorations, etc a few hours before your ceremony and the staff doesn't help. Because we didn't have extra help my husband was setting up while guests were arriving, he didn't have any time to freshen up or relax before everything began. They didn't have anything going on in the space before our wedding, so it would've been a lot less stressful if they had allowed us to come in much earlier to set up the space. read more

I've been going to The Vineyards for more than 7 years now, and the food and service just seem to get better each time I go. It's so pretty in the country and it seems a little more elegant all the way around, yet the staff is still so friendly and helpful. My wife and I go every year for our anniversary and her birthday, and we always take friends from out of town because it's such a special place. Wish it were a little closer but it gives us a little more time to spend together without the kids, so that part is not so bad! Their seafood is the best I've had in town, and we get the garlic mashed potatoes with everything... read more

We held an intimate wedding dinner for at Oak Valley Vineyard on 8/25/16. The service was held in the wedding pavilion which was just beautiful. The vines looked lush and green. After an emotional ceremony the photographer was able to use the stunning grounds as a backdrop to wonderful photographs. Our wedding dinner was delicious and the staff were awesome in their attention to detail. The bride and groom enjoyed dessert at a candlelit table for two amidst the vines, so romantic. I would definitely recommend Oak Valley Vineyards for anyone planning a special event or even just for a superb dinner. Thank you all so much. read more

This is such a great spot, I couldn't believe that I had not been here yet! It is absolutely gorgeous and a perfect place for a date night. We sat down in the wine cellar and it couldn't have been more romantic. We shared the Gaujillo Shrimp as our app and it was to die for! I had the Texas Quail and my husband has the Red Pepper Ribeye for entrees and they were delicious as well, I never had Quail and did not expect to love it so much. Can I just say the cheesecake is the BEST thing I have ever put in my mouth. It tops the meal off that their wine choices are amazing. I cant wait for my husband to take me back!!! read more

Last night my husband and I celebrated our Anniversary at The Vineyards. It was one of the most enjoyable evenings we have ever had. We had made reservations and were seated promptly when we arrived. We had a little table in the corner that had an amazing view of the vineyard on the property. Our waiter Jason took excellent care of us making wonderful suggestions for our meal and wine. After a stroll through the vineyard we sat down for a little dessert and enjoyed the rest of the evening outside. The food was excellent, the service was great and the atmosphere was very romantic. My wife and I celebrated our 44th wedding anniversary 8/1/2017. Since the venue is closed Mondays & Tuesdays, I made advance reservation in July to have a romantic sit-down dinner to celebrate the occasion on 8/2/2017. I'm happy to report that we had a wonderful time.The place was set for the occasion, the location of the table, the panorama, the food, the atmosphere and hostess were all exceptionally wonderfully. I had my baby shower here a couple of years ago and returned to celebrate my wedding anniversary. This place was perfect for both! Great service and delicious food and wine. Perfect for my small baby shower and fit my shabby chic theme. Even accessible for my grandparents. It was also so romantic at night for our anniversary. Intimate and a beautiful setting with dessert outside sitting in the vineyard. Hope to stop by soon again. Oh, we also had a small get together here for my niece and nephew after their first communion. We love going there if you can't tell hehe! Definitely worth it! read more

Oak Valley Vineyards is absolutely breathtaking! I cannot decide if the inside or outside is more magical/ beautiful. Lindsey is so awesome! She helped me plan a Bridal Shower for one of my best friends and it went perfect. Our event could not have gone any better. It felt like the world truly revolved around my friend, the bride! Lindsey and Ashley gave great service to us all the way around. My best friend will have a great memory of her bridal shower and it's all because your help. You made us feel so special. My husband and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary by going to the The Vineyards resturant. We had such a wonderful experience there. The service exceeded our expectations. They were very friendly and just made our experience and our anniversary that much more special. The food was spactacular. My husband and I consider The Vineyards our place to go now when we want to have a romantic evening together and of course start celebrating every anniversary at The Vineyards. My husband and I needed this restaurant so badly. It was the MOST romantic spot we could have chosen. We have kids and sometimes do not get the opportunity to have nights out and this was the perfect spot! We sat down in the wine cellar over candlelight for dinner. The suggestions of wines were incredible and I found a few that I wanted to buy the bottle! We had the tenderloin tower appetizer, the Texas Trio entree and the Red Pepper Ribeye entree with cheesecake for desert (the best cheesecake I have ever put in my mouth!!!) This is definetely a gem you do not want to pass up! read more

Definitely disagree with the review by Damon as well, I read the seven that were "not recommended" and I am not sure why. They were very helpful! They are what made my husband and I take a trip out to Oak Valley. I had the red pepper rib eye and my husband had the chicken, they were both delicious! Can I just say that the cheesecake was the BEST I have ever had. Thanks to the other reviews we knew what to order when we went in! Definitely don't pay attention to the one bad reviewer, it is not accurate at all! Take a chance and go out to Oak Valley for a great experience! read more

The area is quite spacious - with 3 main areas for dining, and its own parking lot which is fantastic. Even though I was tempted for a good time going in the evening --- or even the weekend --- I had a bunch of errands today and chose rather to go for breakfast when the amount of people is few and the environment is just overall more relaxed. I'm glad I did. For my meal I ordered just one thing the Bauern Schnitzel. This dish is described as a "breakfast specialty featuring a hand-breaded pork schnitzel topped with two eggs and hollandaise sauce. This German-Texan fusion dish is served daily during morning hours and comes with a biscuit alongside your choice of home fries, hash browns, grits, or black beans." Within minutes of my order being placed, my food came out in about 5 minutes -- not too shabby! As you can see from the photo, it looked very appealing. How was the taste? Simply filling and comforting. It was rich, stick to your bones grub that you want every so often. Hash browns were crisp, and the schnitzel was fried perfectly and topped with my over easy eggs. Everything simply worked in unison for a flavorful combination. The biscuit was also something to mention. It was homemade, fluffy, and not dry whatsoever! If I weren't such an introvert, I'd love to visit in the evenings --- as fun as this experience was this morning. The space is beautiful and definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

I think the name is hilarious because whenever you mention it to people, they ask "what place?" or ask for you to drop a pin for location since you can't figure out the name. First thing you notice when walking in is the eclectic atmosphere and funky furniture. The outdoor area is decorated with miscellaneous outdoor furniture pieces and the indoor decor is no different. Everyone at the bar (patrons and staff) are very friendly and happy to chat. Additionally, there were quite a few loose dogs which made it even more fun... I love the pups! We went inside to place our drink orders. My friend ordered a bud light (bottled as they have a limited draft menu) and I ordered a Dulce Vida Lime Tequila w/ Topo Chico & Lime. I had tried to order a few other items (like a Deep Eddy Lime Vodka w/ Diet Tonic but they were out of that liquor... and a bunch of other liquors). For the second round, I ended up ordering a Deep Eddy Cranberry Vodka w/ Topo Chico. The drinks I ordered are ones I have had before and somehow they didn't taste as good here, but they definitely weren't bad my any means. Plus, the bartenders were so nice that I wouldn't have complained. I loved that they had a popcorn machine, offered complimentary popcorn & peanuts, and had fun live music. He was playing do a wrangled up my wife, Maria and we went. This place is a bit hidden, by the walls that cover the seating area, outdoors. They have an indoor bar, very welcoming staff. Full bar, liquor and beer. Nice indoor area, cool inside. Very open area, and very clean. Great atmosphere. We sat outside to watch Mark Berry play. They have a trailer for a stage, very country, lol. No hay bales to sit on, so it's not too country. Plenty of seating, picnic tables, outdoor bar. You can sit on the patio, or out over the grass. They have two ramps to get up to the indoor bar, good lighting for the stairs. The bathrooms are clean, four rooms, one is a family bathroom and the other three have unisex bathroom signs. We will definitely go here again. A decent beer selection. And I got to smoke a cigar outside. I brought my own.
