The Devil's Punch Bowl originated 450 million years ago when materials that form the Niagara escarpment were originally deposited in an inland sea. A beautiful multiple rock layers can be seen. Sadly, I was here on one of the driest summer and there was no waterfalls. Still worth as a quick stop by as you can get a great view of Hamliton and Burlington from the lookout. There is no charge to visit the conservation area aside from parking for $2/hour.

I am a tourist, visiting some family in Hamilton. They took me to this and several other waterfalls in the area. What a neat place. As a tourist I get tired of spending money and this was a fun afternoon where I didn't have to spend a DIME! Easy parking in a designated lot, easy trail to view the falls, even grandma could make the walk. The views were amazing of the falls then you walk to the end of the trial and the vista is even more breathtaking. You get a view of the entire escarpment! Lake Ontario, Toronto, everything. It's really neat. Bring your camera and go on a clear day! Enjoy!

We were here for a small running event on the long weekend. My husband did an 8K run. It was around…read morethe beach. The weather was a bit chilly, it told him about 28 mins to finish and age group 2nd place award. There was fruit for him afterward. The beach was beautiful, people around were so nice that helped us to take some pictures. The beach line was long, I felt I had burnt lots of calories. Residents around could run, bike, or swim there. This is a great place to relax in summer.

Confederation Park has been a part of my life pretty much forever. I've been coming here since I…read morewas a kid, and it's still one of my favourite spots in Hamilton to just get outside and enjoy the waterfront. It's a great place for walking, biking, rollerblading, or just relaxing by the water. On a really clear day, you can even see CN Tower and the Toronto skyline across the lake, which is always cool to spot. Adventure Village is a cute little mini park area nearby that kids will especially love, and while Wild Water Works is just okay in my opinion, it's still a fun option on a hot summer day. One of the true classics here is Hutch's on the Beach. We've been going there for years for fries, fish & chips, and ice cream...though it can get SUPER packed during peak times. There are also some other nice-looking spots like Barangas on the Beach that add to the area's appeal. Unfortunately, over the last few years the park has definitely become more crowded and more litter-filled, which is disappointing. But despite that, I've still always enjoyed my time here and have a lot of nostalgia attached to this place.

There was a short trail for hiking but I wouldn't recommend coming here for hiking. We still managed to get some fall colours in our photos which was nice. Remember to book your reservations online. We paid $35 which was a bit pricey but the fees cover admission to Christie Lake as well which would costs $25 for the 3 of us. We just went to Christie Lake a few weeks ago and didn't know about this deal. It's only about 7 mins drive to Christie Lake so we decided to go there for our picnic lunch after our walk at Spencer Gorge.

Highly recommend to visit all seasons but the most interesting though would have been during the Fall when the leaves changing colour. And when it is cooler, it is more relaxing to do the hike then in extreme summer heat. You have the option visit the 2 falls: Webster's Falls and Tews Falls by hiking through the trail or if you pressed for time or with limit mobility, you can just drive to both by car. If you do want to visit Dundas Peak then the only option is to park your car at Tews Falls and just walk there. I just love to listen to the sound of water and the view is enjoyable. A great mini hike next time if you are in the area!
