DO NOT GO TO ISD TECH FOR ANYTHING. Brought in a laptop for a funky noise the fan was making. They…read moresaid the fan needed replacing and new thermal paste, so I paid them for the part and labor, about $200. It ran fine. Less than a week later, the noise came back. Called them, figured maybe just a screw wasn't on tight enough or something. Played phone tag for two weeks... "oh that technician isn't here right now", "oh he's on lunch he'll call you back," etc... Months later, got fed up, called in a favor and brought it to a friend of a friend who works with computers. He opened it up to find the shittiest, cheapest thermal paste job ever, and a clearly still old fan that had just been lubricated but not replaced. So these assholes charged over $200 to do a shit job on the thermal paste AND not even replace the part they charged me to buy and replace.

When I went in, I was told "yes, we work on Macs," and that a technician would call me before the work began. My technician called me a few days later, and said that it appeared that the power supply was bad, but that they would open it up and test it before going any further. I verbally approved him testing the power supply. He called me yesterday to say that "we don't have the equipment to test the power supply after all", but a replacement one would be $199, and the labor $195 to install it- but since they don't have the right equipment to properly test it, it may not solve the problem. At that point, I said "nah, I'll just take it home." The technician told me then that it would be a $45 bench fee when I picked it up. I thought that was a little odd since "we don't have the equipment to properly diagnose this," but hey, they at least did the research to find out what the exact part number was for the power supply. I just picked it up. The technician explained when I arrived that the manager "Ronald F Ranc II" decided that despite not being able to diagnose the computer, and not having the proper equipment, that they'd charge me $95 instead of the normal $45. He said the technician had spent too much time on it, and I should pay more. Mind you, this manager wasn't there to speak to me directly. He made his poor employee tell me all this- even the employee agreed that this was complete garbage. Ronald F Ranc II is a coward. Had this been a legitimate computer repair center, they would have called me immediately and said "hey, we don't have the tools to diagnose this properly" and ended it there. Instead, I'm now $95 poorer, having learned absolutely nothing other than that ISD should not be in business with these kinds of ethics.

For months, I was dealing with a zone that was suffering from voltage spikes and producing false alarms left and right. I called my monitoring company to do repairs. First, they sent someone out to replace a contact (even though that was clearly not the issue) and billed me for hours of troubleshooting, then I was stuck calling back in countless times trying to reach the "right" person to resolve my issue - all while having 2 to 3 false alarms per day!
