The timeline is as follows: the reservation was booked on January 31 and my son cancelled on February 21 -- not March 12 as stated. The stay is still several months away. We contacted Airbnb and they are currently reaching out to the host to review the situation. Unfortunately, my son was also blocked from contacting the host after the cancellation, which made it difficult to discuss any possible solutions directly. Our intention in leaving a review was simply to share our experience so others are aware of the cancellation policy before booking. The host also claimed that I threatened to write a review, which is not true -- I only wanted to let people know about the unfairness of this business practice.
