You want someone that is local and understands these conditions and Brett has been doing it for many years in Truckee and does a great job. He understands and accounts for snow movement and local conditions. His pricing is also fair. We had a few bids all the while knowing Brett would do the work and one of the better known roofing companies out of Reno came in double Brett's bid. Brett also has his own metal shop and does all of his own fabrication. All the trim and junctions are hand done and done correctly. The only caution with Brett is be patient. He is a small shop and does not always bet back to you quickly but well worth the wait. Brett did a GREAT job on our home and would use him again without hesitation.

We had made an appointment with Jeff and he had scheduled us for over a month out... On labor day…read moreweekend (his scheduling, not ours). I informed him that I would have to work but that my mom would be making a long drive to be there to help things run as smoothly as possible. He emailed me the day before the holiday weekend and told me he "MIGHT not be able to make it". Cancelling is one thing but leaving us hanging is another. He was a no call no show. After I complained about it his excuse was that it was a holiday. Apparently it acceptable for him to schedule us and make us stick around the house for a MAYBE appointment that has been in the books for over a month but that since it was a holiday he felt no obligation to keep his commitment to us. Also do not expect to get them on the phone, the number is an automated recording and no where to leave a voicemail. After I got my initial quote it two weeks and multiple follow up emails to get him to respond. I cant imagine how busy it is being a Tahoe roofer during summer. But after calling around to other local roofers I got better customer service from people who said that they couldn't do the work than Jeffs Roofing. Obviously we are all on Yelp because we love ratings and reviews, I personally would go with a roofer with no ratings than pick Jeffs roofing. * Jeff had put us back on his schedule for over a week after his proposed date. I guess I wont get to find out if he would have made that appointment. After a bunch of phone calls and emails I found another roofer. I even had the common courtesy to email him in a timely fashon before our scheduled appointment and inform him that we wouldn't be needing his services.

He said to show him the other estimates and then he would consider if he could beat their prices and do the work. He said his company is very busy, and selective about the jobs they choose. I think he was just looking for $$$. He never sent an estimate, and when I followed up with him about it, he said, "I thought you were going to send me the other estimates, so I could see if we could beat their price."
