I strongly advise against enrolling or attempting to host a party at Destiny Devoted Dance due to their evident lack of professionalism, communication, and respect for prospective clients. Two weeks ago, I initiated contact to inquire about hosting a party for my daughter, which would have led to enrolling her in their classes. They claimed to be open on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from 4 to 8 PM. After calling and leaving a voicemail, it took them three days to return my call. During the call, the owner presented herself as pleasant and courteous, but this initial impression proved misleading. She discussed sending a contract for the party, and I requested to visit the studio on a Saturday at noon. She agreed, stating she will find someone to meet me there, which I didn't take as confirmation of the appointment. However, after calling on Thursday and Friday to confirm, I received no response or callback. Despite this, I remained interested in the facility due to its African-American ownership and my desire to support the community. The owner initially advised me that I could visit the studio anytime between Monday and Wednesday from 4 PM to 8 PM. I visited the studio on the following Wednesday, during which she provided pricing information and advised that email was the best means of communication. She also discussed details about enrolling my daughter in dance classes and offered to send information on purchasing a performance ballerina costume for her birthday. Despite requesting the contract from our initial call, I never received it. I inquired about the contract again during my visit, and she assured me that Rene would send it, citing unawareness of the oversight. I expressed gratitude for the tour and explanation of party details and fees. Before departing, she assured me that all necessary information would be sent that night, Wednesday, June 11th. However, I received no email, prompting me to send a follow-up email on Thursday evening to confirm. As email was supposedly the preferred means of communication, I found this lack of response troubling. Opting to address the issue in person, I visited the studio with my husband on June 18th to follow up on the contract and party arrangements. Upon arrival, we encountered a dance mom who was courteous and offered assistance. After requesting to speak with the owner, she fetched her. The owner emerged, visibly annoyed, stating she was in class and had no time for us. Her demeanor and tone were unprofessional, prompting us to leave the facility immediately. As we departed, I realized that her behavior not only cost her my business but also deterred others who were considering enrolling their children in the studio. As a Christian, I hope the owner will reflect on her treatment of potential clients and recognize the importance of kindness and effective communication in business. I wish her success in her endeavors and a blessed day. read more
