NOT KID FRIENDLY!! I brought my 9-year-old daughter in for a cleaning. She was very nervous, as many children are at the dentist. There was no bedside manner. They didn't even introduce themselves to her. They gave her no cues or instruction during the cleaning and even when she put her hand up to stop them, they did not stop or reassure her. I was enraged. The staff is incredibly rude. I could hear them cursing and laughing throughout the entire facility. Clients are treated as annoyances. They don't answer the phone. They don't return calls.I don't care what kind of insurance you accept or don't accept. The quality of care, (if that's what you want to call it) was absolutely horrible and inexcusable. read more

I would never go back here we had one appointment we showed up as well as three other people and the place was empty they closed up and said nothing, then I decided to try again and went today keep my kid out of school so that he could get his teeth clean and now they said that we did not confirm the appointment but they did not verify that we had the same phone number. We were the only one's there but they would not see him they didn't care that he didn't go to school for this appointment. DO NOT EVERRRR get a root canal done at destiny Dental on Cedar st!!! Let me tell y'all how they messed my mouth up so bad and costed me thousands of dollars! I went in to the dentist about a cavity I had and sat in the waiting room for 2 hrs, ended up walking out and tried to reschedule, they told me they were booked up for the next 8 months. By the time I got in to see them the tooth was infected. I was told I couldnt get it pulled there because it needed to be pulled by an oral surgeon and they referred me to Michigan University to get it pulled. Michigan university NEVER called me till this day. (That was more than a year ago) I was in so much pain that I ended up going back to Destiny Dental and got a root canal done in March (Paid $1800 out of pocket!!!) and by the end of JUNE I had an infection spreading throughout the right side of my face that had reached my brain and formed an abcess on my gums because they didn't remove the infection from my root canal before placing the crown!!! They ignored my calls and voicemails for 3+ weeks and refused to call me back until my mom called from her phone, by the way they violated HIPPA by telling my mom ALL my personal/health info without getting authorization from me or verifying ANYTHING and they told her that the dentist that did my root canal no longer works there... after my mom got loud with the extremely rude receptionist they FINALLY called me back 20 mins after hanging up with her, just to tell me "they removed the root so it's not their fault because there's no way it can be infected, it must be a different tooth" and they "couldn't get me into an emergency appointment to look at it for another 3 months." Fast forward to now: I went to a different dentist that was able to get me a same day emergency appointment, told me it WAS the same tooth and they were able to get me in to pull it (without an oral surgeon) within ONE WEEK. Destiny Dental provided me one of THE WORST health experiences I've ever had in my life!!!!! This problem could have EASILY turned fatal!! read more

If I could give negative stars I would. This is the most overbooked unorganized dentist office I have ever been to. The staff is disrespectful. I asked the women who answered the phone if I could get another antibiotic sent to my pharmacy because I had lost it. She didn't even want to do that. She didn't even look at my chart to see that the doctor had told me to take it and made the assumption that he said I didn't need it. The front desk people always have treated me like im lying about my situation. My appointment was supposed to be rescheduled and she couldn't even find a date to reschedule me. Mind you I've been waiting to get 2 painful root canals done since March 2023 ( including how long it took me to even get in the office) and it is now mid June and still haven't heard from them about my insurance. I put up with illfitting dentures from there for so long. I'd call for an appointment and they literally would not make one because they said they couldn't fix the problem. Duh! You're the one that made them. Yesterday, I got some new ones from a hick town Dentist in the UP of Michigan where I now live. That hick Dentist immediately saw the problems that Destiny Dental gave me. So much attention was given to correct these problems. One day in my new dentures and I can finally eat all of the foods that have me problems ( Spaghetti was the biggest ), and once again talk right. DON'T GO TO DESTINY DENTAL FOR DENTURES. read more

I will never take my daughter back there........ they had her get 2 teeth pulled back in November only to cancel her space maintainer appointment for 6 MONTHS then we finally get her orthodontist to get ahold of them and FINALLY get us an appointment..... only to go in and find out the space maintainer is to big. Then they "fixed " it and tried putting it back in.... long story short my daughter now has a to big space maintainer and they told us "she will be in pain while her teeth are moving because the maintainer is still to big" my response was "well if you didn't want 6 months to get us in it wouldn't be" not to mention the rude receptionist that's at the counter with barely any clothes on.... how classy-_- I was not impressed after the 6 months nice to know they still have NOT FRIENDLY people in their office........ read more

Office staff seems to be running circles. My first appointment was rescheduled only 1 day before because our insurance only has one doctor that works with it on certain days - and NOT on the day they scheduled me. Upon rescheduling, I was told the first office person did my make any notes about our insurance so finding another day ended up being tricky. The day of our rescheduled appt, I received a text message only 1 hour before my appointment that my provider had an emergency and to call back to rescheduled, again. Finally on the third attempt, the office staff seemed frazzled. Their demeanor answering phones and tone with patients was unprofessional. I was happy with our hygienists and doctor. However - office staff is the first impression for new patients. It really makes me miss my old place where customer service made you feel like a valued person. read more

Avoid. I had an emergency - needed a filling replaced ASAP - and was able to get a walk-in appointment here. So far, so good. My case was handled by Dr. Joo who removed the old filling and reported that the tooth was fractured and I would need to be careful with it in the future. He then overfilled the tooth. After spending some time grinding the new filling down, he ran out of time and wrapped it up, even though the new filling was still too high. I called the office as soon as I realized that I needed it ground down even further. However, I reached a recording that said the office was closed (during their business hours) and, despite leaving a detailed message, I never heard back from them. Thankfully I had already scheduled an appointment for a "comprehensive exam", so I decided to wait for that. Over the weekend my tooth became extremely painful to the touch and my lymph node swelled and became sore. At my Monday appointment for a comprehensive exam, I was subjected to a dozen or more x-rays as the technician seemed to be having trouble that she didn't bother to explain to me. I told her about my filling and she ignored me. I explained the situation to Dr. Joo and he ground down the filling without looking at my case notes. I had to remind him about the fracture and his warning. I explained that it felt like I had developed an infection and he told me to look for a "root canal specialist". He didn't examine any other tooth, just looked at the x-rays and declared that I had no cavities. When I asked about a cleaning, I was told that that would require another appointment for an even higher price. Silly me, I thought that "comprehensive" actually meant that I would get a comprehensive exam. Nope, just x-rays. I'm still in pain and will never go here again! read more

In the short time my son and I have been coming here we really enjoy the staff from front desk to the dentist and the assistants!! I'm going to be honest, after reading all the bad reviews I wasn't sure what to expect. I went in for my first appointment this morning and everyone was friendly and professional. The waiting room was clean and the wait was short. The exam room was spotless. The dentist was kind and helpful and the assistant was wonderful. She was reassuring and understanding. I get crazy white coat anxiety and left looking forward to my next appt. I will update as I get more work done but right now I highly recommend Destiny Dental! read more

Long waits due to over booking or the sake of making money. Medicaid patients are repeatedly removed from the schedule without notice, to make room for patients with better paying insurance. Brittany doesn't care about her employees. No new heir is given proper training. You are shown how to navigate Dentrix, then put out on front desk to figure the rest out. Front desk receptionist are made to take the fall for this, and other downfalls of poor management and Doctor requests, I experienced dishonesty, favoritism, and her petty nature toward employees. On several occasions she had lied about me to other employees, which I find to be in poor character. She terminated several other employees on the basis of lies, wich corporate does not question nor investigate high turn over rates. I found that corporate is either ill informed or doesn't care. I feel this will be the cause of the company's undoing in the long run. Outside of work numerous patients and ex-patients complained about the unprofessional nature of that office's manager. Complainants are made to wait for unnecessarily long periods of time because Brittany makes herself unavailable. I myself have brought back several patients who were ready to take their business elsewhere, simply by listening being apologetic and occasionally going above and beyond my duty as a receptionist. Back to corperate, they are aware of illegal actions on the part of a particular doctor. Yet they take no actions read more
