Additionally, I found it awkward that I was shuffled between three different nail technicians. They cut into my cuticles on both my hands and feet, drawing blood. The best of the best! Danny and his staff are spectacular, and in a sea of nail salons in Destin, this one rises to the top! They have all the latest products, any color or design you could want. Go look at their instagram posts and you'll see what I mean! They make sure all equipment is sanitized and the salon is very clean. If it's your first time, you'll need to give them a credit card as they charge a no-show fee if you don't keep your appointment. This is necessary in a transient town such as Destin. I didn't leave a good report when I left that nail shop. The work was really shabby. I didn't get what I asked for. I asked for acrylic nails and I ended up with gel X nails, which is almost to me as the same as press on anyhow, if that wasn't to add insult to injury two weeks later I come to find out they charge me another $20 I guess because I was not happy with their services and to be vindictive. I was a walk in, they were nice and squeezed me in. I said I wanted French tips but not acrylic. The front lady recommended dip nails. I asked how much that would be, she said $55. But I'd have to wait longer, so we decided to do gel. She prepared my nails by shaping and trimming cuticles ( I have never been somewhere that doesn't have you soak your fingers 1st but I assumed maybe it doesn't matter). While I picked out a nude pink.Then I switched and had a guy do my nails. He told me I should do dip, I said "I was fine with that but I was told I'd have to wait longer". He said no he could do it now. So he picked a dip powder to match the gel I picked (#24). After he was done doing the dip powder he went to put the lid back on and that's when I noticed he did the wrong color #26 (I thought it looked darker than what we picked). I didn't say anything because he already finished that part and I figured it wasn't to dark so I'd just live with it. Then after it was all done he took me to checkout ( I've also never been somewhere were they don't rub lotion on your hands afterwards with a little massage but that wasn't a big deal to me either, just thought it was weird, thought maybe it was just because they were busy.) Then at checkout I was told the total was $70 instead of $55. I had said French tips when I asked how much it would be with dip. I have no idea why the charged me $15 more, but they should have told me something would make it cost more before they did it. I didn't want to go over $55, that's more than I normally pay, but it was my birthday so I decided to treat myself, but if they told me it would have been$70 I would have gone back to gel or done something else. I didn't appreciate the dishonesty. They did a good job on the nails, but I wasn't the happiest with the wrong color and charging me more. read more

Just know ask how much they will charge you before doing your service. I was here visiting and needed a fill. I had one nail where the gel was completely gone. I did not need a tip as my nails were long enough. When I went to check out, it was more than what the cost of a fill was. They told me I had a repair and charged me extra. Wait what? YES! BECAUSE the entire nail needed gel - it was considered "new" gel and they charged me for a repair. I really wanted to say.. "wait.. since I paid for half of the gel in the fill, shouldn't it only been half a repair? " LOL I get paying for repairs where you need a tip... but this is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard from a nail shop! read more

I got a deluxe pedicure which was ok. One lady comes and starts prepping my nails for dip. She nicked my cuticle with drill. Then did the base dip then another girl came to file and buff while pedicure was being completed. She told me i would come to her to her station to finish. She did a very sloppy job on my nails. I love Destin nails. My nail tech Gunn is amazing, she knows my shape and my colors so well. She is incredibly talented and can do some amazing designs. Some people complain about how they run the business but they have to run it the way they do in order to respect their nail techs time. They are very busy and Gunn is always booked out weeks in advance. This is because they are amazing! But because they are so busy, you have to always make an appointment and if you cancel or show up late, that messes it up for the nail tech for the whole day. Walked in at 6:10 pm on a Saturday and they close at 7 pm. I was asked if I had an appointment, which I didn't; and they asked what services I wanted done. I stated dip and pedicure. They asked if I had dip on my nails currently and I replied yes. The lady told me they "wouldn't have time for both; maybe only the pedicure since they close at 7 pm". I asked if I could have the dip done instead of the pedicure and she said no come back on Tuesday with an appointment. I was visiting from Dallas and any salon you walk into there will take you until the minute they close. I went to Nails LaBelle nearby after I was rejected at Destin Nails and they courteously served me right away for both my dip and pedicure. It was after 6:30 pm when I walked in and they also close at 7 pm. I was done and paid out by 7:33 pm. If you're looking for professionalism, then go to Nails LaBelle, not Destin Nails. read more

Update to my review to add eyelashes!! I loved them! Mod is the gal to go to for lash extensions. Verdict on eyelashes. Only did them once. Lasted about 2.5 weeks nicely. Second half of that week the false ones started to go missing. This is my personal amount of wear time for these (kinda like a fill in for nails). Upon professional removal my lashes were a teeny weenie weenie but shorter for about a week. They have now returned to former glory. Waking up to clean under eyes and not having to apply 4 coats of mascara to my blonde eyelashes was awesome!!! I would ABSOLUTELY do again for a special occasion. I don't really need to be looking that fine all the time anyway. The guys couldn't handle it. Sssssssizzle. Hahahahahaha Mod does amazing pedi's and My pink and white with her husband was perfect. Another time, I booked with a specific nail tech I like and arrived to be shuffled to various others who were not as good and 1 particularly bad one. I find it very rude and disrespectful when I take the time to make an appointment and show up usually a few minutes early to then have to wait or not get the tech I was promised. I give everyone a second chance but this last time even after complaining the owner never came to speak with me. They seem to continuously get my service wrong and run late unapologetically.
