A little torn about this review, while they didn't do bad...it was nothing to write home about either. I got my acrylics taken off and a pedicure. Both were done well, just felt a bit rushed due to them being short staffed. WHICH I DO NOT BLAME THEM FOR. I guess I can compare my pedicure to that of a manicure for a six year old. I have had dip on my nails for a couple years now and have been to many salons. This salon simply didn't seem to know how to do them and tried to push me toward acrylics. That should have been my warning that while they offer the service, they probably should not until they've had more practice. The dip nails came out fine- definitely not bad but also not great. Went here to fix a previous visit to a nail salon by my house in Freeport (horrible experience btw). My full set nail tech was Helen, super sweet and did the best she could to fix my nails. I like Bow Tie and usually wait till I am home from NYC where I currently reside to get my nails done. The good: I think that the prices are reasonable, I like the service and my gel pedicure literally LASTS for over a month without chipping. When I have made an appointment I usually get taken really quickly. The downside - the lady who does my pedicure is ROUGH - she hurts....they need to be more gentle - it's my feet - they are sensitive! The only other thing is that she doesn't always concentrate and so she puts the Flourescent light ON your nails - smudging them and then has to re-do which is annoying. Again - its a 4 for me....the service is good - just details! read more

I'm a local and tried this place after my girl friend told me it was great. Don't know if it was my lady but this is by far, the worst nail salon I have EVER been to. My nails are uneven, my cuticle was cut and bleeding, my massage was mediocre, and the lady just seemed so rushed. Highly recommend Bowtie Nails. Someone else actually recommended this place to me and I'm so glad they did, I don't think I would go anywhere else to get my nails done. In January I got acrylics in Crestview at a random place and they drilled into my nail and cut my fingers under my nail with their drill. Its a long review but you will not regret reading it! Love this place! Seriously, GO SEE THEM!!! Ok, so I would like to start out by saying that I am pregnant and so I don't really even know what my toes look like anymore! HOWEVER, I do know that every time I visit the Bow Tie Nail Bar I walk (well waddle) out of there with nothing less than fabulous toes! Everything is EXTREMELY clean, and you don't have to worry about even coming close to any kind of infection that you can get at other places that are not so clean... :( Next the work these people do on your nails... WOWZA!!! The last thing I had done on my nails was getting solar nails put on, this is currently my 6th week with them on and I only had to have them filled once in this time period because they were getting too long for me to be able to function with them! (I'm just not that talented) I am going in to get them done again today and I know there will be no disappointment! Seriously I am one of those people that if I really wasn't that impressed, I won't go back. Its not because I'm spoiled or think I am entitled, I just am an every day person whose husband is in the Marine Corps, so if I'm going to be paying our hard earned money I want it being spent on something worth the money! They are very much worth it to say the least!! To close PLEASE go in here and see them! They are extremely nice and make you feel so at home! I agree with the other low reviews on here. While the location is convenient and clean, the man that works here is a bit gruff. I had to tell him he was going to hard on the callous remover...he removed some actual skin not just callous...when using the sugar scrub he was also very aggressive and lastly, he called me honey. Sir I am not your honey so move along. I would come back because of the convenience and cleanliness but request to see someone different. read more

Bowtie nail bar has been a great place to go with my mom and sister for quick manicures. They had reasonable prices and good service- until today. I've finally decided to get a manicure myself for the first time and wanted to do an ombre French with the powdered substance. The nails looked good and the employee took his time with them, however when it was time to pay, my total was at $70! That was just for an ombre French full set with tips. No manicure included. My expected price was 40, maybe $50. I don't believe my manicure was worth the amount and that they have taken advantage of me, being a teen by myself. read more

I have been to Bow Tie Nail Bar twice now. I have been very happy with the service both times. Everyone here is so nice and personable. I like that they actually listen to what I want. I am very particular about my pedicures and like my toenails cut short. I have always had difficulty with getting nail techs to actually listen to my requests and give me what I want... Not here. Both times they have taken their time, paid attention to detail and cut my nails to the perfect length. This is my new regular spot and I will gladly refer any of my friends to go here. read more

I asked for an acrylic fill with gel polish. My mistake was that I didn't ask the price first. I have had my nails done at a few places before...the price was always $25-$30 for this service. Ok, get ready for the first less-than-glowing review of this business. But please read on, because my situation and the reasons for my rating are a little atypical in nature. Situation: I do my own nails (natural, long nails with acrylic overlay). I've been doing them myself for a couple of years now. Just as some people take great pride in, and even view as their "signature" some feature or ability, for me it's my nails. I love having nice looking, well manicured nails. They're just my thing. And I also very much enjoy taking care of them myself. The other night I broke one of my nails on my dominant hand and, because the nails on this hand are shorter and in slightly varying lengths than the other hand, I figured I would just go ahead and sculpt a nail for that finger and even up the length of the other fingers on that hand. All of this transpired after a long day at work, it was getting late, and it takes me longer to work on this hand because I'm using my left hand to do the job. In the interest of convenience and time I decided to just go to a shop and let them fix it for me. I chose to go to this business because of the great reviews here. So I go in after work the following day. There was one woman currently working on a customer, and a gentleman who was not. There were also two other women in the back somewhere without customers. I explained the entire reason for my visit and they decided that the gentleman would perform my service. From the moment I sat down and he examined my hands, he treated me to snide remarks about the current state of those nails and bemoaned what he was going to have to do. He also continuously talked to the woman doing nails next to him, and about me, I'm sure, in their native language. She would steal a glance at me from time to time as he spoke, often shaking his head or stopping long enough to remark to me about something or the other I did or that he was going to have to do. If I didn't want to have my hand done so badly at that point I would have just said nevermind and left, but I let him go ahead and finish. I did let him know that I believe that I do an excellent job on my nails otherwise (and I really do), and that what he was seeing on that one hand was not representative of my usual work and was a result of making them "presentable" for the following day until I could tend to them. As a matter of fact, my left hand was very nice looking. I constantly have people, even nail technicians, tell me that my nails are lovely and then they're surprised to hear that I do them myself. One would think that I would have come away from his table displaying the workmanship of the Nail Tech to the Gods. NOT. As a matter of fact, as tired as I was I could not *wait* to get home and tighten up the work he'd done (which I did). The nail that he sculpted on the finger where the nail had broken was laughable. I honestly could have done a better sculptured nail myself. Instead of being grateful for the assistance of a competent, understanding nail tech who assisted a paying customer I came away insulted, offended, frustrated and overall feeling like I had been a complete burden to this guy. I do know this: some nail techs are often put off by customers who do their own nails, especially when the "non-professional" does a good job at it. Even experienced nail techs will tell you that it is difficult to do one's own non-dominant hand. But I could tell from the moment that I mentioned that I do my own nails that this guy was already in resentment mode. He even looked at my other hand and asked "are you SURE that you do your own nails?" And one more thing: I have a great appreciation for all people and cultures. And I do know that there is such a thing as "cultural differences" and respect that. But I do not agree with the commonly accepted assumption that some people in Asian cultures often exhibit what we Americans consider to be rude behaviors and that's just the way it is. If you are living, and especially doing business in, this country, rudeness and other unacceptable behaviors should not be, and will not be, tolerated by *this* customer. You may have gotten my money this time, because you did perform some kind of service, but you can bet that I will take the zero on you the next time and go spend my cash elsewhere. Now I will say that if you come to this establishment for regular services you will probably enjoy them. The salon is nicely appointed and appears to be kept very clean. The Tech who was preparing to work on a customer who came in while I was there offered her water, a soft drink or some wine so I know they do offer that as well (even though the guy who handled my service couldn't apparently care less in my case). I'd venture to say that, unless you come in to have something corrected and admit that you normally do it yourself, you should enjoy the services provided here and be treated very nicely. read more

I haven't felt the need to leave many reviews on Yelp but this is one I cannot pass up. I went here for a mani / pedi a few weeks ago, just a walk in no appointment and they got me in right away. I'm not sure of his name but the guy that works in there did both of the services. I have never in my life had a pedicure I would consider "bad" until I went here. He cut the sides of three different toes and proceeded to put stuff on there that made it burn A LOT. He even asked me how it felt and I told him it wasn't good. Looking back I shouldn't have just sucked it up and stayed, I should have walked out with my toes completely unfinished!!! I will never go here again. read more

My 1st visit to this salon & I was throughly impressed with the cleanliness and how each clients tools are packaged separately in sterile packages and the tub is protected with a liner. Being an OR nurse they had excellent technique. I will definitely be coming back. My only compliant would be my nail technique couldn't do designs, then another technician came over and asked what I wanted. I said "Flower" she said she doesn't do flowers then I said whatever your specialty is just do it. I'm not picky just wanted something. She walked away then I had to wait again for another technician who asked what I wanted I said doesn't matter. She did some very simple lines.
