Rey did an amazing job bringing my vision to existence! My dress was a hit at the all black wedding I attended!!! Thank you Rey

I got my wedding dress from a boutique in the SF Bay Area, and my husband got his suit from Hockerty online. We got alterations on the dress before moving to Boston but realized shortly before the wedding that it was no longer fitting as well. We didn't have much time for alterations before the wedding, but Rey took care of us quickly. He did my husband's suit quickly as well. Not only did he do a great job with the alterations, but he went above and beyond--he even made custom buttons for my dress's bustle out of extra dress fabric (something we didn't ask for but was much appreciated). It was clear that he was really looking to do a good job and be proud of his work, not just get paid. His prices were also super reasonable, especially given the speed with which we needed alterations done. We saw lots of different types of clothing in his shop, so seems like he may be a good option for anyone looking for tailoring, not just for wedding alterations.

Went here to get a dress made for my NYE party/ Post eloping Celebration , i came in with a picture of a dress i found online, and he created the same dress for half the price if i were to buy it from the site. They are extremely affordable and he made sure it was perfect. I am very passive so i kept telling him it was perfect but he would tell me he wanted to adjust this part & that part and after he finished it the dress better than i could ever expected. The night went by so fast i didnt even take a full length picture :/ I attached pictures but it also had a little train in the back which gave it that extra extra wow affect. He was so easy to work with and so nice.

Rey is amazingly talented! I came to him with a vision for my wedding dress in 2018 and he made it all happen in the shortest amount of time with the best price of the 5+ places I researched/got quotes. See full description and photos below: We were on a budget and doing something outdoors/less formal, so I bought a dress online that was too big (wedding dress sizes are weird, so I'd say this was at least 2-3 sizes up; I was a 2 and this fit more like a 6 or 8 - I could pull it up and down without undoing the zipper). It was a chiffon-like material as the top layer that was pleated over a corset boning that angled down to a low back and intricate beading sewn in like a belt across the middle. By taking it in that much, a straight angle from the chest to the low back had to be recreated, boning in between the fabrics taken out, and beaded belt pattern adjusted very carefully. On top of that, I asked Rey to cut off the train and create sleeves (it was strapless originally) and put in cups/breast support so I wouldn't have to wear a bra/bustier underneath. Not easy tasks! Rey quickly sketched out exactly what I was asking, so I know he got my vision. I showed him some Pinterest photos as well just in case and he said it would take just a few weeks and cost under $200 (the corset padding/support bumped the cost up a bit from what he originally mentioned before the first fitting, but only by like $20-30 and was totally worth it). I tried it on for him to pin it how he needed, and he said I could come back in 1-2 weeks for a fitting/finishing touches. The second appointment had pros and cons. The dress fit perfectly but the line from the top to the back wasn't straight (I think it just wasn't finished) and I wanted it a little lower in the back. He didn't cut off the full train like I asked because he didn't want me to regret it; instead he shortened it to be just a slight drag -- it was very pretty (and thoughtful - I'm sure he's had experience where he's done what was asked and then couldn't undo it if someone changed their mind), but I was adamant that I didn't want to drag in the dirt for the outside ceremony or bother bustling it for dancing. The sleeves he had pleated to match the design on the bodice, but it wasn't like the original design we had discussed, so we went back to his original sketch to clarify. The last part with that the support pad he sewed into the corset were huge and directly on top of my breasts as opposed to underneath and from the sides to help push up/support. I think this is a more common way to do it with Quinceañera dresses (especially for girls who maybe haven't developed yet). This piece was the only alteration where Rey brought in an assistant to help interpret -- I understood Rey's English perfectly fine and he seemed to understand me (I didn't speak much Spanish at the time), but I think he wanted to be positive nothing was lost in translation. The third appointment 2-3 weeks later (only a little longer because Rey had a vacation planned) was sheer joy to see my vision come to be fully realized! All the changes had been made to exactly how we discussed. The only small edit was the wide and placement in the back of the new sleeves he created from the train that he cut off. I picked up a few days later as we were right at the wedding date and everything fit perfectly (note: I found out I was pregnant just before this last appointment, so if it looks a little tight in the photos it's because I was 10 weeks and had started gaining weight). The only issue was that it had a few wrinkles (I think this was just because of the short timeline he didn't get to it), so I took it to the dry cleaners on Centre St. since the wedding was the next day. There are pros and cons to every experience, especially when there's so much riding on such an important event, so I can't say I wasn't anxious/nervous at times, but I trusted in Rey and he delivered just the most amazing bespoke dress I could have imagined! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

The cost was very reasonable for what I had done - shortening the dress (multiple layers) about 4-5 inches and bringing in the bodice for $85.

For anyone planning a visit, a few things to know: the shop is small, so don't expect a big storefront or waiting area. It's also located on a busy main street where you can't park, so you'll need to find a spot on one of the side streets nearby. Inside, the music was a little on the loud side, so I found myself raising my voice during the conversation--not a huge issue, but noticeable. I brought in a new coat that mysteriously ended up with what looked like an ink stain--one that water and Shout couldn't handle. The woman who helped me was straightforward. She said they'd try to remove it, and it would be $10. That's a great price. I dropped it off on a Monday and was told it would be ready by the end of the week and that someone would call me. The call never came, so by Saturday I reached out myself. When I picked up the coat, the stain was completely gone. I was honestly so relieved--my coat looked brand new again. The only thing that keeps this from being a five-star experience is the communication. Since I never got that pick-up call, I figure I'll need to stay proactive with future items. Makes me wonder how long it would've sat there if I hadn't checked in. But overall? Great work, great pricing, convenient location (right across from Enterprise), and a much better experience than I expected. This visit definitely opened the door for me to try more of their services.

Bottom line- they really live up to their great reputation in the community and I highly recommend them!

This was a large order costing me around $350 which to my surprise upon picking my order a month and a half later, found the quality of the alterations to be below subpar. There was one item of clothing that wasn't even altered which was incredibly frustrating because we carefully went over all the areas that required attention in great detail. When I attempted to tried to address my dissatisfaction, I was quickly told that they "did make alterations", yet were unable to show me exactly where. I explained that I have tried the clothing on after the job was done only to find that they did not fit. Seeing that I was disappointed, they only offered to fix one clothing item and disregarding the other items. They never bothered to offer to redo the job at free cost, instead expecting for me to pay even more money for a job that they did not met. I'm sure their dry cleaning services are great but their alternation services are below standard. I will not be using them at any point in the future. 1/10 would not recommend.

I dropped it in about 2 and a half weeks maybe 3 werks in before the event and ample time to do the alterations. I needed a hem, the straps that needed to be taken in to adjust to arms theyhad gem stones on top of straps. Also a bead on front of waist needed to be sewn. When I went to pick up the dress i paid the owner if I remember correctly it was like $125. I opened it up when i got to my car and i noticed the straps were not flat and in fact thick and lumpy with lowsy stitching where uou could see the thread. The gems were not removed! The top seam of the strap was opened and one end of strap was tucked under with the gem stones and then tucked on ans then a hand sew. I went back to the shop immediately. He said we couldn't get the sewing machine over the gems aaaaaah hellooooo.... A good alterations specialist would know to remove the gems first to stitch properly with a machine otherwise it will not lay flat. I demanded a partial refund at least for my troubles and having to come back. He gave me like $20 back. When I picked it up and took it home the straps will still slightly loose where thry could fall down if wrong move. The hem was great. The one bead on front waist was not sewn. I should of taken before pics. The dress has a small fitting room which is a make shift fitting room with lots of clothes back there one metal folding chair it has an acordian type door or it was a curtain separating the long section for sewing tabes and ftont counter. It seems the owner is the only one who speaks English.
