Great for weddings (indoors and out), receptions and large meetings…read more The mansion is like stepping back in time to a fine country estate. After climbing a full set of stairs (handicap accessible only on the first floor thru a side ramp), you enter a grand foyer lit by brass chandeliers with a dramatic staircase on each side. Entering thru double doors, you are in the main ballroom that has two fireplaces and crystal chandeliers. The main ballroom leads to an enclosed Veranda that offers great views of a wooded back yard and grounds. There is a small exhibit room up stairs and a parlor where we all gather for a family member's wedding ceremony and big reception afterwards, outside. All was great on the location and venue choice tip. My only gripe with this venue, was the poor planning for a large wedding party. My cousin had her wedding here in August (dog days of summer) and the venue provided a really nice tent set up for an outdoor reception. It really fit the bill until you walked inside and realized it felt like a greenhouse! The outdoor AC units were running on high and useless. The venue management should have planned better given the weather and knowing it's the dead middle of the summer in MD....which is always HOT! The tent was apparently setup shortly, hours before their wedding and the AC units did not have time to cool the place. Instead, they should have been running overnight because it was extremely uncomfortable and everyone was sweating bullets in the place--drenched. lol. It definitely dampened the occasion for such a nice venue. Other than this, I have nothing but good things to share about this venue. The staff were friendly, helpful and guest felt at home....despite the AC issue. If you are looking for a place that feels inviting, relaxed and a bit like home for your next engagement, I would suggest this place as a "potential" option....just make sure it is not in the dead heat of the summer.

However, given both our busy work schedules, we decided to spring for a planner to streamline the process. This was November 2019. With Jenny's help we were nearly done with planning our September 2020 wedding before the pandemic hit. Jenny made each step fun and efficient. I didn't have to research 40 photographers, email them to find out who was available, and then figure out if they were within our budget. Jenny did all that. Then, emailed us 3 excellent photographers within our budget and available on our date. She did the same for every component of our wedding. And created a design board to execute our vision and ensure all vendors were on the same page. She also made sure we had the best value for every tiny detail/aspect -- whether it was the napkins, dress alterations, florist, transportation, hair/make-up, or venue. True to form, all the vendors were prompt, fun, and professional. Without Jenny's wisdom, foresight, quick-thinking/response time, and organizational skills on our side -- we would not have been able to keep many of our vendors and get married in May 2021, despite our venue dropping us 2 months before the actual event as well as a host of other small disasters -- par for the course for most large events. Having an excellent wedding planner was the single best decision we made for our wedding. I am a Costco-shopper, and I love a good sale. But, what you don't know is a good wedding planner knows ALL the sales and inside tricks. They have every detail covered, and are 2 steps ahead. They are worth every penny. I have very high standards and Jenny exceeded all expectations. Our wedding was perfect, and very much stress free. I even took a specialty board exam 2 weeks before the date! Our wedding simply would not have been possible without Jenny. 5 is not enough. She deserves all the stars.

His ability to blend songs seamlessly from one to the next was like poetry in motion. There were no awkward pauses or interruptions--just one great song flowing effortlessly into another. What really set Alex apart was his interaction with our guests. He knew exactly how to read the room, get everyone involved, and keep people of all ages dancing all night long. In fact, the dance floor stayed full until the venue finally had to kick us out! The photo booth was another huge hit. It came with fun props, and all of the pictures were uploaded to an online gallery so guests could enjoy everyone's photos afterward. I didn't realize it was available earlier in the evening, so I almost missed out myself. Thankfully, I managed to squeeze in a few fun pictures before the night ended. From the very beginning, Shann was incredibly patient, responsive, and generous with her time. She answered all of my questions promptly and walked me through the different package options, helping me choose the one that best fit our event. Before the party, she even visited the venue in person to plan everything out, which gave us a lot of confidence that everything would run smoothly. On the day of the event, Shann and her team were fantastic. They worked through several thunderstorms, going in and out of the rain without missing a beat. The decorations turned out beautifully, and our guests loved them. The photo booth was definitely one of the biggest attractions of the night! At the end of the event, the team also arrived early to handle the cleanup, which saved us a tremendous amount of time and effort. Shann worked with our budget and gave us a great deal. We had initially estimated around 200 guests, but luckily Shann's experience really showed. After visiting the restaurant and following up on the guest count, she prepared for the venue's full capacity instead. We ended up with a full house, and without her foresight and the hard work of her team, the party wouldn't have been nearly as fun, seamless, or memorable.
