This company is a scam, DO NOT BUY. They operate under several different company names all associated with the same phone number and address. 'DECOR PRICE' 'DESIGNER LIGHTING AND FANS' & 'LIGHTING SELECTION' I purchased a fan that arrived damaged. I sent photos of the damage and was told my replacement parts would be shipping out soon. After 3 plus weeks of daily calls and emails with no resolution, I finally googled and found LOADS of stories just like mine. As of today, I'm told they accidentally shipped the replacement blades to the wrong customer and I must wait for that customer to receive and return them before they can be sent to me. I am not sure why people gave this store bad reviews. People typically leave reviews when they have a bad experience, but not when they have a positive one. I purchased all of my lighting for my home at this location and have had zero issues, other than short delays on shipping. Due to COVID--19, this is standard for so many stores and I expected it. I placed an order with DecorPrice.com - the online website for Designer Lighting and Fan -on Monday. I contacted the company the same day to cancel the order due to a mistake on my end. I followed up the phone call with a cancellation request in writing, as requested. Someone named Roy responded in writing and advised that he had emailed the manufacturer to cancel the order and that "once done, will cancel and refund." This afternoon I received a notice that the ceiling fan had shipped, despite written promises to the contrary. Now this Roy guy is telling me it was too late to cancel the order and that if I want to return it I will have to ship it back at my cost.. and if I refuse the item I will have a refusal charge and a shipping charge. I have contacted my credit card company to stop payment. Do NOT do business with this company. It was one of the only times I did not go with a large, well known online firm without doing research first. I wish I had read all the other reviews online first. As others commented, I would rate them zero stars if I could. (I should also note that, being aware of the power of an online review, I rarely write a negative review. This place does get plenty of bad reviews and I would say their website can be questionable with plenty of red flags, but I couldn't argue with the great price and no sales tax. I gave it a shot and paid via PayPal in case something went wrong. I was worried like most people about receiving a fake item. I did email earlier asking about shipping and the email bounced so I got worried, but a day later my order shipped, and check this, from the fan manufacturer warehouse! Helene was awesome in helping us find a chandelier and pendant lighting for our new home. The prices are better than anything else I've seen and there are discounts on floor models. The LED light bulbs are more expensive than what you'll find at Home Depot or online, but they look and feel like much better quality. We saw capitol lighting before and we liked this place much better. Capitol has a slightly bigger selection with higher ceilings, but the value here is better. There are beautiful items here too. Underline "HORRIBLE Experience. DO NOT GO THERE".. Helen was great to work with in the past. Now they have some new guy (Indian.. not to be racist but don't recall his name) who is NOT suitable to run any kind of business. Some highlights of my experience in buying a $1900 chandelier for my home(which not to mention was available for $1580 online that we came to know later). Day 1: My wife liked one chandelier that they had in the store but a smaller size which we wanted in a giant 4-6ft length. He was nice enough to give us an option to take that small piece and see how it looks before we order the large piece worth $6k. I was pleased with that option, paid $414 for it and brought it home. At home, we realized he gave us no attachment to put it up and no light bulbs so ideally it was a waste of time. Went back and returned the piece and decided to buy something else instead. We placed an order for a crystal chandelier which was for $1900. Within a week I got a call from him that item has arrived at his store and one of the box is really large so I need to go there with a Van or a Truck. With all the excitement I took my friend's Odyssey and went to his store where I learned the box is too big for that Van. Here is where his attitude slightly changes. He asked me to figure out how to take that box from his store(very rude behavior). It sounded so much as if it's now my problem. He then gave me an option for delivery which would cost me $75. Next day, I called and agreed to pay the delivery charges and asked him to schedule the delivery. He denied it until I pay him for delivery and also the remaining balance(fair ask). I went to the store and paid him in full. He then introduces another big box and four small boxes that I have to take in my car. Apparently he charged $75 only for that ONE big box. Frustrated but I did what was told. It was Thursday and he said he will get delivery for the largest box scheduled ASAP and I should expect a call from delivery guys on Monday to check on my availability first. Monday at 2:30pm I called him to check and he said I should be patient (insulting given I am checking for the first time but fair enough). He then calls me and says the item is delivered at an address X. Neither have I or any of my relative ever lived there. Here is where all drama starts. He gets annoyed and starts blaming me that I gave him the wrong address(why would I give him an address that matches nothing to my current address ?). It was in the same town about 5 miles away though. Then he starts getting aggressive with me on the phone. Given what happened I thought I shall help him and started looking for a ride. I found a landscaper with a truck who agreed to help so I called his store but apparently he had left to pick up the shipment from address X to deliver to me himself. Great gesture and I was really happy about that. UNTIL, he rang the doorbell at my house. He dropped the parcel(at my driveway) and started being rude and blaming me that I gave him the wrong address. I tried to explain to him that its not me giving him wrong address and that I found help to save him time but he just didn't listen and kept arguing. I told him politely he is not making this experience pleasant for me and there it goes. HE STARTED CURSING ME WITH "F U" AND WHAT NOT UNTIL HE WAS OUT OF MY SIGHT. My neighbor who is a lawyer asked me public the video and take legal action but I don't have time to waste on him. If you want the proof of his behavior, message me, I have a RING video recording. If you see and hear our conversation there, YOU WILL NEVER ENTER IN THIS STORE AGAIN. read more

Think twice. I went in for simple repairs on three lamps. After quoting a price, she nickel and dimed me for "other" necessary repairs. As a matter of fact, even after I (over)paid for simple services and left the store, she was still adding extra charges that I would have to pay when I picked my lamps up. She also prepared an invoice/receipt for me that had another customer's name and address on it. Sloppy administrative services, but the lamps were repaired ok. The pull chain on the floor lamp was replaced with a cheap replica and is inaccessible unless I stick my hand up into the lampshade, whereas it used to hang much lower with a decorative end. Cheap hardware. She also tried to force me to buy lamp shades that I didn't want. She discounted them three times in 30 seconds to entice me, which only made me more leery of their business practices. There is a HUGE trust issue here for me. Never again. Let me add that my floor lamp had a gorgeous 14 inch pull chain with lovely charm on the end. They KEPT that and replaced it with a .19 cent piece of trash that is four inches long and rests on the bulb - so I have to stick my hand up into the shade to turn it on and off. When the bulb is hot, it's impossible. I have to move furniture and unplug it from the wall. So, that renders my beautiful lamp unusable. And they see no problem with this?? read more

HORRIBLE ONLINE EXPERIENCE. I can't speak to the in-store experience, but my experience online was a textbook case of 'how to alienate your customer base and lose business in 1 easy step.' Getting the merchandise was quick, but trying to return it and get my $ back because it was broken was torturous. My experience was a direct contradiction to their 'EZ No Hassle Returns Policy' and here's why: 1) The company has no escalation policy for disputes so you're stuck in a loop of talking only to the person who handled your order and is likely incentivized for sales, not returns. 2) They tried to get UPS to pay for the damaged goods I received. 3) I was scammed into receiving a replacement part after canceling my order and being told in writing I would get a full refund. 4) After confirming I received the replacement part, Designer Lighting sent me an email stating that 'after reviewing your return request we cannot take this item back. You got the item also we have shipped the replacement shade at your place. At present we cant process your return request. Have a nice day and be safe.' I finally had to file a claim with my credit card company to get my $ back, so save yourself the trouble and buy elsewhere. read more

Ordered 2 fans on Monday. By Thursday had not heard anything about shipping or ETA. I was told the fans shipped today (Thursday) and I would receive tracking numbers Friday. Friday comes and no tracking numbers. Decorprice.com said fans won't ship until middle of end of next week. Called the manufacturer and they confirmed receiving NO ORDER for what Decroprice.com charged me for on Monday. NO fans on order for me. Cancelled the order since it wasn't shipping and was sent lots of official looking papers that indicate a refund. Hasn't posted to my account yet so won't be satisfied until it does. Also disputed charge with bank to cover all bases. Minka Aire told me they would launch an investigation into this company's business practices and reconsider their standing as an authorized reseller. Don't walk, RUN from these liars. read more

This review is for Decorprice.com which apparently is associated with this company. I do a fair share of online shopping and never have I ever experienced an online retailer that is as unreliable as DecorPrice. This online retailer does not stand behind their products and do not care at all about customer satisfaction. I order 2 large chandeliers with them and one arrived severely damaged. It was a drum shaped chandelier with crystals outlining the entire exterior. There is 1 string holding all the crystals together and this string arrived broken causing loose crystals everywhere. I called them for a replacement and was told that they can't guarantee that a new one will arrive intact and instead proposed that I should restring the entire 34" chandelier myself without any type of compensation. I explained that this would be difficult and time consuming and all they said was that they can send me replacement strings. I then requested for a refund and was told that they will call me back regarding the return. 3 days later I heard nothing from my customer service representative "Alex" so I called back and was once again told that I should restring it myself. It's been almost 2 weeks since I first reached out to them regarding my issue and i still have not received the strings or any further instructions on how I can return this damaged item for a refund. When I called, the representative even went as far as to lie and say that he's tried to reach out to me multiple times, yet I have not gotten any emails or calls. Save yourself the headache, order from elsewhere. The few dollars you might save is not worth risking receiving damaged goods and being stuck with it because this retailer does not care about it's customers or stand behind what they sell. read more

This company is dishonest and rips you off!! I placed a large order with them almost a year ago and earned some nice reward points that I could us on a future purchase. A month later, I made a purchase of two lamps and one decorative tray, and applied my reward points. I had not planned on ordering a decorative tray, but since I had the reward points and it matched the lamps, I figured why not? They shipped the tray right away and said the lamps were on backorder. 9 months later, they still did not have the lamps, so I told them I wanted to cancel the lamps off the order. They sent me only a PARTIAL REFUND!!! I had enough reward points to MORE than cover the cost of the tray. I should have received a full refund of the cash I paid. I did not want nor expect any refund of reward points that went beyond the cost of my tray. When I called and told them this, they explained that they choose how to apply the reward points and they they applied some to each item in the order (including the lamps) and so the points could not be used only for the tray (which was the only item that I received). This is ludicrous!! They cheat customers! I plan on filing a complaint with the better business bureau. They also operate under many other company names, like DecorPrice.com. I will happily remove or update this review if I ever receive my full refund back. Incidentally, Helene is the only kind person that I spoke to and she has tried very hard to help me. It is out of her hands unfortunately. She mainly works the retail store, and this was an online order. So, I assume (hopefully) that the retail store operates more smoothly. RESPONSE: This is not blackmail. It is warning other customers that you do not honor your reward points. I simply wanted my earned points applied to the only item you actually shipped to me. By you choosing to apply the points to items that are not in stock (and saying that the points cannot be applied to what I actually received), you are cheating people out of their points. Ordered an Emerson ceiling fan costing $419 they sent me a fan that is either an open box item or a return judging from the condition of the container and to top it the package with the screws and bolts etc... are all missing. Went to store to purchase 6 outdoor lights for my new home. Could only find the exterior color on the floor of the lights which I was interested in. I was directed to a catalogue to shop for my lights due to a lack of display models. Helene was confident in her design abilities and I fell for it. When SOME of the lights finally came in, (did not arrive as promised) they were so completely cheap looking! When I went to return them she had the nerve to charge me a restock fee of $60! I ordered a lamp post light on Oct 2 through the company name decorprice.com (same as Designer Lighting & Fan Center) and it was charged to my PayPal that same day although I did not receive the item until almost a full month later. It arrived with one glass panel shattered. I contacted the company and was given the choice of a refund or a replacement. I told them that as long as I did not have to wait another month for a new light I would like a replacement. Stupid move. Today I received a new piece of glass to install in my new broken light. At no time did they say that they would be sending me just the glass. It is such that I have to take out all the other pieces of glass, risking breaking them, and getting cut to reinstall the new piece of glass, which happens to be in the back. When I called them and told them that a replacement piece of glass is unacceptable,he told me that if I return it now there will be a 20% restocking fee!!! This was in spite of me explaining that this is not an easy fix. I did not order or pay for a make it yourself lamp. I ordered a light that should be ready to be installed OUT OF THE BOX!!!!.
