Avoid. We ordered a new dishwasher and induction range. I am have immune system disfunction and confirmed several times the delivery people would wear masks we provide. DA confirmed this and said all was set. Day of, delivery the team arrives and sees us in masks and accuses us of having COVID and tries to not mask or deliver. We explained the point of masks is to NOT get COVID and we don't allow anyone inside without one. They finally mask and then the stove they installed did not work. ON THE DAY BEFORE THANKSGIVING. They were literally going to leave us with no way to cook for the holiday. I had to demand they reinstall my gas stove before leaving and DA was useless. They should have tested the appliance before putting it on the truck and did not. Customer service was appalling especially given the holiday situation we were put in. Never again. read more

Their install team recommended outright replacement, but I would have been happy with a simple call back on next steps for repair first. After dealing with two separate sales people, and patiently waiting multiple times, with multiple follow-up emails/phone calls (over the course of months), I've decided to leave a review. Having a very bad experience with customer service. We spent $40,000 on appliances. Missing parts for the vent hood which cost over $7,000. Have reached out 4 times. Received one of the required parts but missing others. My general contractor had to jerry rig the hood to make it work. Makes an odd sound. Do NOT buy appliances here.. Once they take your money, thousands of dollars, good luck getting anyone to follow up, explain when you will get anything and even worse, once your defective appliance arrives - they won't do a goddamn thing to get it repaired. We ordered appliances in Feb for a June install - the best replies we got as the date neared and nothing came, was "we don't know when it will arrive". Further updates were the same and only given because we reached out. Once we got the fridge and notified them immediately of the broken handle - they said they would order the part. Here we are over a month later, and nothing. These people have no urgency, customer service or respect. If you already ordered, don't bother asking for when your crap will arrive. We are still missing a microwave from Feb... and you guessed it, the last update was "we don't know". read more

I bought a Miele Dishwasher from Designer Appliances in May of 2024. Since the reviews were either great or terrible, I asked what was going on. I was told there had been issues in the past and that they were working hard to correct problems, move forward and regain trust. Designer Appliances was totally good to their word. Miele appliances are never bargains unless Miele says they can be. Lucky for me, Miele was offering rebates. Designer Appliances even helped with the Miele forms when I had trouble. The whole experience was so perfect, especially considering that I bought the dishwasher while in CA, had it delivered and installed in NJ, on the date I needed and at the time I wanted. Excruciating Experience. -Appliances took 14 Months -I had 3 different sales reps due to turnover in the company -They charged me for installation and when the appliances arrived nobody from Designer Appliances was available. -I had to contact a 3rd party installer myself and coordinate and pay for installation -They did not refund me for installation costs they charged me -The Fridge/Freezer that I waited 14 months for never arrived so I had to demand a refund and start the process over again. The process was poorly managed. Very little communication and accountability. read more

Terrible customer service. Purchased a refrigerator from them over other retailers because they said it was in stock. Provided payment information and they said they would hold until our contractor was ready for delivery. Had to follow up multiple times to get delivery scheduled, and only at that point did they inform us that the refrigerator had been discontinued. Absolutely outrageous. Nonetheless, we tried to make it work and asked for recommendations for other similar refrigerators that would fit the custom space in our kitchen. Spent several weeks following up, but they were largely unresponsive and unhelpful. Strongly suggest getting appliances from any other retailer in the NY area - Designer Appliances is one of the worst out there! read more

Not all deliveries always go perfectly but the test of a great business is when they work with you to make it right. Both Joe and Anthony worked with me and Sub-Zero non-stop to ensure whatever was not perfect with my delivery was rectified and made perfect in the end. There was no better price to be had -- believe me, I did a lot of price checking -- and no faster delivery of my refrigerator than with Designer Appliances. I will definitely use them again for all my appliances going forward and I most definitely recommend them as well. read more

Eileen gave me all my options to make an educated, well informed decision, based on my budget. Before I decided to get the Jenn Air, I ordered a Wolf Oven, which could not be accommodated due to the size. Eileen, was extremely efficient in getting me the Jenn Air replacement to fit my layout. I purchased an entire outdoor kitchen from Designer appliances. They provide the worst client services ever. I called about an issue back in July. I am still having issues and it is now August. My sales person had no time for me after the very large purchase. i would not shop here if this was the last place to purchase products. My sales person was fantastic when I was purchasing items and horrible even since. Her name is Jill Delle Cava. I called several times to speak to the GM or owner and they would not provide name. The absolute worst customer service experience... should have known it the 1st day I entered their store . Had an apt and waited for over 30 min for someone to help me .. meanwhile , during my wait an upset costumer came in .. I stepped out in the parking lot for a moment when she was leaving and she told me of her horrible experience . When I went back into the store , sales rep brushed it off as her being a difficult costumer ,.. fast forward ... I completely understand her frustration with this place .. photo is of an apartment refrigerator to suffice for my family until mine comes in ,. So called High end appliance place and the best they can do is this tiny little fridge .. my sales rep , and she is nothing more than a rep .. jill is very rude and lacks communication skills .. I've called and asked for manager several times ..with no answer or return call. And they charged my credit card without my authorization for a fridge they told me is a "gift" which I did not ask for or did not want !!! I am moving in a week and have no place to store my food ! Jills response is she is terribly sorry it does not suit my requirements .. seriously , I bought 40k in appliances and they can't pony up a full size fridge to loan me ? Also was never mentioned they would not install the appliances .. they just dropped them in my kitchen and left .. when I reached out to Jill Cava , no response but an email staying they would send someone. Okay cool ,, then! A new invoice comes with charges for installation !!!! This place is disgusting !!! We bought a Miele 48-inch range and a matching refrigerator/freezer. After Designer Appliances charged my credit card for $24000 I did not hear from them. I had to call to get a confirmation of my purchase. My name was misspelled but miraculously they got my name correct for charging my credit card. During the installation, I got a phone call from the sales person that additional work was needed not covered by the installation fee amounting to about $600. Fortunately, some of the work was not needed and the additional bill came down to close to $400. The contractors who came for the installation were competent, friendly and customer oriented. I have bought several appliances from this firm. Most recently a hug end stove. I took delivery despite my project not starting foe 8 months. I was very accommodating they were not. I scheduled the install and called to make sure the conversion kit was with the stove and someone who knew what they were doing covering a gas oven to propane. I was assured he and two other were coming. They texted me on their way and the person who knows how to convert was the driver. They arrived, he was not on the truck. They sis say they would come back the next t day but didn't give me a time. They came and installed the converted stove. I was unable to light it even with my plumbers help. I got the sales person I used on the phone. She said she would schedule a service call with the company. I have still heard nothing and can't use my oven. When we informed the sales lady that we were planning to purchase for our home in Philadelphia, she told us they deliver only to New York and New Jersey. Despite knowing that we would not be able to buy at the store, the sales person remained super helpful and friendly, letting us know her honest opinion about the appliances, the pros and cons, and answered any questions we had. Spent a ton of money on a suite of appliances. They didn't bother to see if the dryer worked properly after they installed it. Now its up to me to keep on them to get it working. I purchased an $800 Miele stick vacuum. When I received it I opened the box and tried it for five minutes. It is awful. It is not convenient to use and it is very dirty to use. I called to return it. Obviously I was not going in the store because of the pandemic. They would not even speak to me about returning it. They said it is their policy they will NOT accept any returns for any reason. I asked to speak to a manager. They said they would have one call me back. I'm still waiting for a callback and it's been two weeks. The Bedminster location is a great place to actually SEE a lot of different high end appliances like Viking, Thermador, Wolf, Bosch, Miele, etc but DO NOT plan to BUY from this company. Their customer service is awful; they don't keep appts, they don't take messages for each other or return calls, they don't actually service the appliances themselves and they don't take responsibility for delivery no shows or mixups or damage to appliances in transit. These things all happen. Do your research here but buy from a reliable dealer that handles service themselves. Don't purchase extended warranties unless you know in advance who will actually offer repair service - otherwise your warranty may be worthless. read more

OK. When the Manager John saw my bad review he called me and told me that he was sorry and that he would help me getting the Dishwasher as soon as possible. And even though I did not get it on the date I really wanted and needed the Dishwasher, he was very generous in making up for the mistake one of his sales people made. He gave us free installation and another 100 Dollars discount on the Dishwasher. They certainly deserve a "thumps up" for trying to make up for what happened and also for friendliness.
