After meeting with this Niki and Kailie in person, we liked what they had to say and what they had to offer. They seemed like a good fit for our project. COVID had delayed things and we had to sort out some details on our end before making the final decision to start the project, but after doing so, we talked with them again to give the go-ahead to start. They were on board and were going to set up a follow up meeting since it had been a while since our first meeting. After hearing nothing from them for a few days, we sent them an email asking when we were going to meet. The response from them was basically a form email saying they were too busy, and good luck with our remodel.
The problem here isn't that they were too busy. I understand that. It is this: First, we had already talked and pulled the trigger on starting the project. THEY had suggested we meet again to make everything fresh in everyone's minds. Then they went silent for a few days. Second, and the most disappointing is the way they handled their changing their minds. A blowoff email? We had already met each other, talked about ideas, and agreed on moving forward, and all we got was a generic form letter saying good luck. It's not as if we just sent them an inquiry after finding them on Yelp. There was already established communications. They had our phone numbers. They offered nothing in the way of potential future work, or suggestions. They didn't even give us the courtesy of a phone call explaining the situation or an apology for having to change their minds about taking the project. This was very unprofessional and rude. I had to call them back to get more clarity on what happened and why. Even after speaking them, it was clear that they had no idea how unprofessional and disappointing their actions were.
It's shame because we probably would have liked their work. On the other hand, I don't like working with flakey inconsiderate people. read more
