Well it's been a while since I wrote my last review and nothing has changed I paid for a airbrush service at the Yelm location almost 2 years ago and I have tried and tried left phone number to try and coordinate for an appointment I have seen others get appointment at All times of the day and week but hey the joke is on me I don't even get a call back. Like I said joke is on me I knew something was wrong when after I came out from the only airbrush I received at this location almost 2 years ago and I saw them talking about me then stared at me when I left. I guess professionalism means nothing hey corporate look at this place. The staff will talk bad about you. All I want is a little courtesy and the service I paid for. I got the platinum tanning package and the ladies who work there always try to get me the best deal possible. The ones who have worked there a while all know me by my name. I always receive a positive and refreshing vibe when I'm greeted when I enter the salon everyone is friendly. They also have a good selection to chose from when purchasing any skin care. The salon is always clean. It's my favorite location to tan at. read more

My spray tan was fine but the girl that works at the front is very rude. I don't know her name, she had her blondish hair on top of her head, a little heavier, beautiful blue eyes. It had been a long time since I got a spray tan so I had some questions, she acted like I was asking for something for free. I am writing this review today, saddened about what I have seen at a business I once loved. I would recommend to you any location other than Yelm. There, it is clear some employees are over worked/tired or have not been well trained. Nor have I seen one girl take a break or go to lunch. Which truly leads me to believe these girls are forced to work long hours, sometimes being Opening to the end of the day. With what seems like NO breaks either which is unacceptable, But this is not my only issue. I do not like nor support any management at this location. They do not seem to care about customers or the people who work under them. Which is a big thing for me. I like to know who I'm giving my money too, is a well put together establishment where all employees are equal and treated well. I have came in during busy times, and have witnessed management sitting around while other employees scramble to clean rooms while people are still coming in the doors. This might be their "Norm" but it is not, and something I will not support. The lacey location is an amazing alternative, amazing staff and manager! Although I don't believe those ladies take breaks either, I feel more valued by managers there and feel as though it is a better work space. read more

First it should be known that this is not a corporate location, of which I learned when I had an issue with the staff and their lack of knowledge about our accounts. The manager Allie is super pushy and honestly if I think she's working I avoid going at all cost. She talks a million miles a minute and honestly seems like a used car Salesman. The other employees are on their phones at the front desk all the time. The beds are not near as hot a other locations and I get very little color. I will be rethinking membership once winter comes as it's truly more of an aggravation than a service. read more

Expensive but good. The beds are new and clean, they will also inform you when they get new bulbs so you can make the decision to adjust your time. The bulk is this rating is based on staff, customer service always makes the place. The girls are nice and informative. Tanning salon front desks are generally staffed by high school to mid 20's girls, some, if not most I have found can be snotty or have a lack of professional communication skills. I have not found this with the girls at Desert Sun in Yelm. I prefer this location to the other one I go to in Kirkland. read more

I had experienced a few minor issues in the past (2015-2016), and can say for the past year my experiences have only improved. It seems as though they have a steadier employee roster and the gals I work with frequently are professional and very helpful. I appreciate their generosity and willingness to assist with questions etc. I tan here appx 3 x a week and it has been a pleasant frequented stop out of all the Desert Suns in the area. read more

I had only wanted to tan for a few visits before going on vacation in order to do so I was told I would have to put my debit card on file because I could not walk in and pay cash for a monthly plan of $35 against my husband's best wishes I went ahead and set it up not only did I receive a little color and being a redhead you would think I would have noticed a difference so Needless to say I'm not happy with their equipment Went to the establishment And closed my account the following month they withdrew $35 from my account I was not expecting so for a second time I went back and see if they have a straight wanted a credit back and close my account she said they could not refund me a credit because my account will be closed and I could not use the facilities Even though they had taken my money once again now it is happened three times this company's Needs to refund Me in for every penny taken from you and maybe work on some training for their employees and educate them on customer service read more

I have been tanning for years, it's a necessity as it's the only thing that helps my skin condition. I have been to many salons and dealt with all kinds. I have had my fair share of bad experiences... Pushy for sales, under trained and just plain rude. But I have never had a bad experience at the Yelm Desert Sun. All of the staff are friendly, and helpful, the place is bright and clean and the manager at this location is absolutely amazing! On days that the place is packed she always manages to be calm, attentive and smiling. This salon is by far the best one I have been to! read more

This place is very expensive, they lie to you about the price. Force sell you lotion you don't want and harass you until you order it then 16 days later you still haven't received your 60 dollar lotion. If i were you i would steer clear of this place. They have you work with one girl who tell you one thing and then they hand you off to another who tell you the other was wrong, well in the world of customer service if i am told and agree to this then that it the deal, honor it... no switching it afterwards... in 52 days I have been charge 125 bucks plus 64 for lotion that i still haven't gotten 19 days later. JUST TO TAN which i haven't been able to do regularly because i don't have the lotion i bought. read more

Don't Try to Cancel... They are happy to sign you up but don't try to cancel your membership. You have to go to the salon where you signed up to cancel. They will not do it over the phone or at another salon. After moving out of the area, I drove 30 miles in the pouring rain to be told by the flunkies behind the counter that they had no "authority" to cancel memberships and the manager would not be back for a week. Of course I will be charged another month's fee for someone with "authority" to process my cancellation. I canceled because when I went to the salon that was closer to my new home was put in a tanning bed with the bulbs burned out on one side and offered no apology after complaining. I go to this location because Ally, the manager, always has my best intentions in mind. She is attentive, responsive and helps me find the best "bank for my buck". The location is clean, enjoyable atmosphere, has up to date technology,and room for plenty of beds and services to offer. Hate the parking but love the location! Keep it up Yelm! The tanning beds are dirty. Ashley doesn't know how to clean beds and always blames the new girl. When the new girl isn't even working. I have the beginning of fungus growing down my arm. Spoke with Mariah who is very young 4 separate times about the issue and says it won't happen again but does. And then she said I'd be upgraded for a month in the platinum beds and red light and that never happend. Tonight Elise was working and sprayed a girl under 14 which is illegal under federal laws and while she was doing that the bed cleaner cod t use the computer system be she didn't know how to. Waited an hour and then some to be told my "upgrades" weren't available when there manager also known as the district manager said otherwise. Tony the owner I ah e tried contacting but nothing so I put another call in to corporate to get a full refund of my money back from this establishment. HORRIBLE read more
