I:st time here smaller location 2 stars for customer service Mattie was helpful with questions I'm very dissatisfied with the fact the high pressure bulbs are only high pressure on top and gold bulbs on bottom. Default feel getting ripped off. Lakewood Tacoma and Federal way have amazing bulbs while Mulkiteo is not quick to change Bulbs since they are a slower store. Sadly I don't like coming here despite living in Shoreline I'd rather drive to Tacoma. . The service request requested. I'm paying for something. I'm not getting. I'm only getting half of the service I requested again since only high-pressure bolts are used on top. The vibe here is really slow pace but great customer service again. I definitely suggest you don't come here and go to any other location from this business preferably Federal Way, or Lakewood, where you get high-pressure bulbs on top and bottom, which you're actually paying for. read more

Desert Sun - Tanning Near Me - Mukilteo, Washington

I have a premier membership at Desert Sun tanning my main location is the Shoreline Branch. The gals there are great! However there plans need some work. Mukilteo location on the other hand has the worst customer service. I was there tonight and was treated so terrible I had to leave. I normally spend a little extra for a tripple boost and accelerator. The Mukilteo location wanted to charge me 3x's what I normally spend. I asked the woman to get the manager on the phone and of course the manager wasn't available. I don't understand why these place advise you can interchange your membership with other locations but in reality they make it so difficult you leave upset. If you don't plan on going to another location Shoreline is a good place. Other locations not so much! read more

I've had a membership here for close to a year. I have the package that includes access to all services (I think). Beds are always clean and I've never had to wait longer than a couple minutes. Staff is fun and friendly every time I go in. Great thing about a membership here is that you can freeze for as long as you want and pay only $5 per month. That $5 is saved and can be applied to future purchases or membership fees. With this plan, I'll never have to cancel my membership. read more

I have been a member of Desert Sun for a few years now. I have gone to various locations throughout these last years and I have to say that this location is my favorite. I originally got hooked on D Sun because their high pressure bed was the first (and only) one I have found that did not burn me. I like to always maintain a sun-kissed glow, but was never able to because I would have to go through a month of being a lobster first, and I know that is so damaging. Not that I'm saying tanning in general is the most healthy habit, but that's another discussion... Mukilteo D Sun has all the newest beds and is always clean and well-maintained. Some other salons have people at the front desk with no professionalism, but not this location! They have had a few turn overs of staff, but all the gals are always sweet and helpful. There is RARELY a line to tan at this location (like, maybe twice ever) ... perhaps because no one has yet reviewed it on Yelp... maybe I am letting the cat out of the bag? As a member of D Sun, you have 2 cross-tans (you can drop in at any other location to tan for free twice a month), but I really try to avoid that because I just don't like the other locations as well. read more

I've been coming here since last June! ALL of the girls are super nice and very informative. I don't know what I'm doing so I always ask what they think lol I also found out that when you freeze your account the $6 tax you get charged per month goes into an account you can use at the salon for product or whatever you want! The tanning is great, the pricing is so confusing that buying a home is easier. They use a laminated place mat with various pricing on both sides. Unfortunately, they don't explain very well and the placemat only contains basics on pricing not the details. Left tonight paying $230 for tans and all I wanted was 5 tans. The customer service clerk in store cannot refund, even though AS he ran my card I said wait, "what?" and he realized he didn't explain the stacked pricing (one on top of another) I asked for an immediate refund but was told no, I have to call customer service and deal with them instead of the person who literally JUST ran my card. Similar experience to buying cable and stacking services in packages and ala carte, particularly if you thought you understood and then got billed completed differently than explained. SIGH... I wanted 5 tans, I paid about as much as my airline ticket to California. read more

Absolutely love this Desert Sun!!! I've been to other locations, and this surpasses them all by far! Very friendly staff that are also knowledgeable and not pushy! I've actually made quite a few friends with the girls that work here! I highly recommend Desert Sun, especially this one in Mukilteo! Also the beds and the entire salon is super clean! If you're looking for a membership to tan as much as you'd like, or just a few to prepare for summer or a vacation, this is the perfect spot! They have 3 different level beds, a red light therapy, standing bed, wraps, and teeth whitening services ( I think I covered everything) Also, top of the line products and they seem to always have some sort of deal, whether it be a lotion of the day, $20 credit, 25% off, and a few times a year, 40% off products and services! i have been a customer from the start and well the owner seems to hire bimbos! I only tan before i go on vacation and when u ask questions like does the spray tan make u turn orange or can u wear lash extentions in the mystic tan they act like you r stupid for asking. I had a very bad time with a manager named Erin and the owner would never call me or contact me via email! so watch out if u have a problem it just stays between the girls :( read more

I really love this Desert Sun. I'm in Lynnwood a lot & it's only 10 mins away from where I'm at. There are two younger girls that are always there when I come in at 9:30ish, sometimes even later & they are very friendly & informative. They aren't super pushy about selling you lotions but I still got a great deal when buying my lotion and after tan lotion. The lotion smells divine & gets me very dark - I couldn't be happier with her recommendation. Even though I usually come in late I never feel rushed. I also have never had to wait for a bed. So I used to work for the company so I might be a little biased but this is one of the best locations by far. The girls here are so friendly and always remember mine and my boyfriends names. The salon is super clean in comparison to Tropical Tan which is a nearby competitor and the lotion choices are so much better. The only thing I would say is that the Versa needs a little bit of love. The place is clean and usually not that crowded. However, I am giving two stars because of the staff. If they are talking to a co-worker or texting on their phone, you have to wait until they finish to be greeted. There is no flexibility in packages - not even a 12 hour grace period. You almost feel you are annoying them by coming in. read more

I'm actually surprised this place has bad reviews for customer service all the girls here are great they are helpful and nice and always answer my questions with an honest answer it is a bit spendy but most places are I think they need to have more flexible packages I prefer tanning in platinum bed because I only tan once a week mabie twice a week at the most but even that's rare so naturally I choose the highest level tan bed and because I worry about skin cancer and other issues people have from to much tanning at the same time I like having a very dark tan so I spray tan multiple times in a week and I pay 79.99 a month for all inclusive package but I rarely find the time or need to use the red light service or the wraps and surprisingly going this rout is by far cheaper than having the unlimited spray tan and buying platinum bed once a week separately or having unlimited platinum bed with buying spray tan individually so with all that being said I can't give a 5 star rating after having to pay so much for simple services but the staff can't be blamed for that and that reason alone gives them 4 stars good job ladies !!! read more

Called today to ask about tanning & spoke with an irritated & rude front desk gal. Stopped in later and the same irritated & rude front desk gal was working. Needless to say, I will not be going there for tanning. A first impression is so important and she should not be a businesses first impression for a simple phone call or in person visit.
