I was shocked to see some of the bad reviews here. First of all I have to say that the Cocoon has saved my life. I discovered it at the Stanwood location when I walked in for the first time after getting an IV for vitamin C at the business next door. IVs are much more expensive in helping combat Epstein-Barr virus than the Cocoon. I never heard of the Cocoon before and read up about it after this. It has been a miracle after years of being debilitated with this relentless virus that I have not been able to keep at bay due to the cost of high-dose vitamin C IVs which I was supposed to be doing weekly. So the part that shocked me is that I ended up at this location several times and was beyond impressed with a girl working there, Kasiah. Not sure if I spelled that right but this was on the weekends toward the later day and she is one of the most personable people I've ever encountered in retail. She is extremely engaging, informed (beyond most of the others that I had dealt with), patient and accommodating. She went above and beyond to get me extra information and check into my account where I kept being told one thing and then it ended up being another and something wasn't included that they originally said was and they kept changing their stories. In my opinion Kasiah should be training the other girls on good customer service and just appearing to care. I have to also say that I have been to this location when other people had worked there and was not impressed. I wasn't even sure if the Cocoon had been cleaned and some other girl working there wasn't sure either but thought maybe it was. This was not the most reassuring answer! If I go to this location I try to make sure that it's only when Kasiah is working there. read more

Recent staff is better than previous staff. Management was very rude in the past and more interested in flirting with customers than supporting customers waiting to tan. Current staff seems to be more professional; however, they hold beds for friends and each other and don't handle walk ins on a first come, first serve basis. read more

I just want to say all it takes is one bad person to ruin a business , I have been a loyal customer for ten plus years and here recently every time I come to tan there is an issue with this particular girl , she's rude doesn't put the time in the bed which makes it a huge inconvience being on a time schedule and undressed waiting till she decides to turn it on., but the one thing that really upset me is I forgot my work uniform, Instead of putting a note on my account or calling me she just threw it in the trash. This is by far, the best tanning salon that I've been to. Several things come to mind. First, when you enter a staff member greets you immediately and you never have to wait. Second, the rooms are very clean, which is saying a lot for this "clean freak". Third, if you need assistance with products, the staff is knowledgeable but not pushy. I rarely write reviews, but felt the need, since I am now into my second season of tanning and I continue to be happy with this salon. read more

I have been to this Desert Sun maybe 3 times and I LOVE Desert sun, and I will just be driving the extra 20 minutes to the one in Marysville one. I went in today, did my usual cocktail so either a medium or platinum bed (today a medium), and a clear 3 spray tan. I've been to other Desert suns and I've never quite turned this color before that I have these two times. Like seriously different. So either they have given me the wrong color twice or they seriously need to get their versa spa checked out. And to add to that the girls have never even put forth effort to be nice. I've worked retail the last 7 years, I know it's sucks but I've never been somewhere that they just don't even try. Anyways, the attitude is off putting, the color is off, and I'll just be going to a different location from now on. Way more worth my gas and time to be honest. read more

Best tanning salon! Brandi is super helpful and can answer any question you think of about tanning. They always have some kind of deal going on but the monthly subscriptions are the best way to go. Rooms are always clean, great beds, and barely ever a wait time. read more

By far the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Called 4 times asking to cancel my membership, not once was the call answered or any of my messages returned. Reached out to corporate when I saw an other charge last week after NOT USING THE SERVICE FOR WELL OVER A YEAR. They charged me each month, after attempting to cancel and then blamed me and refused to refund even 1 month of service after being told I would receive a whopping 90 day refund by the first rep I spoke with. I have a very nice thread of emails and so many more details that I would love to share! read more

I have worked for the Navy and my husband is active duty, so I have lived in 5 different states in the last 10 years. I have visited many different tanning salons all over the US. I decided to finally check out Desert Sun after purchasing a groupon, even though I have been loyal to my local tanning salon in Arlington. I did not feel comfortable the moment I walked in the door, but decided to give it a fair chance. I felt like I was bothering the staff and had to ask about upgrades when they were ready to rush me into a bed, but not before trying half-heartedly trying to sell me lotion when I clearly had a bottle of my own in hand. I ended up paying for an upgraded package and I guess there was a communication issue because I wasn't given a tour even though I said it was my first time in. The young lady at the desk escorted me to the bed after she was prompted to by her trainer. It was a basic bed, which I was very dissapointed. It was the worst bed I have ever been in. Low powered bulbs, cramped, no face tanner. I was asked how it was when I was finished and I did tell the sales lady it was not what I expected and asked if that was the basic bed. I also added that I have tanned all over the US and it was the worst bed I have been in. Her reply was that oh that's just Desert Suns signature bed and had the new girl show me the upgrade I have paid for and assured me that I would be put in there next time. She did aplogize. Unfortunately, I will be back so that I can get my money's worth. I do have to add that several people told me negative things about the Desert Sun company before the groupon I purchased and I thought I will form my own option and give it a chance anyhow. This is the best tanning salon I have ever been to. I have very fair skin and the staff was very knowledgeable on how to treat my skin. I can't tell you how many times I've been tanning and look like a lobster the next day. This was not the case here at the Smokey Point Desert Sun. Ashley was so helpful and patient with me and definitely catered to my skins needs. I have never felt confident about my skin color and I'm happy to say that after a spray tan I actually like the way my skin looks. This is all thanks to your specialist, Ashley, who comprised the perfect combination of tanning and sunless tanning. The salon was spotless and running like a well oiled machine. There was obviously great communication between staff members and I felt like I fit right in when I walked in the door. They were all so friendly and welcoming and it felt like I had known them for years. Honestly, I've never had a great experience or results with tanning but my experience with Ashley and her staff had completely changed my mind about tanning and actually convinced me that tanning should be part of my beauty routine. I am so happy and I will definitely be going back. I haven't felt this confident about my skin ever and I'm so happy to have found am awesome tanning salon with an amazing staff to help me!
