I used to be a dedicated SST customer 5 or so years ago. I typically did the alderwood mall location. Recently decided to pick tanning up again, and tried the Lake Stevens location. Awful customer service. I have felt pressured to buy something EVERY SINGLE TIME I popped in. Even if I have purchased a lotion, have an active package etc. Last time I was in I was told I had two sessions left. Cool I thought, I'll run these out and find a new salon. Stopped in today to use what should have been my last session, and of course she started per usual by trying to sell me a package. I said nope, I just want to use my last session-- to which she responded I don't have any hm... I could care less whether I had one or none left. Drove right to desert sun and bought a new package there. I don't easily feel pressured, and also understand commission based jobs. If I have felt pressured like this every time I came to the salon, I am sure others have felt similar. One time she even got me to buy a lotion that I 100% didn't want or need. You are probably losing business because of it, and your associates need better training :) read more

I have been to this location a few times and other locations as well. Last time I was at this specific location I had signed up for the wellness pod and LED light for my face. I then purchased 3 credits, which was not explained with the pricing and so it was more expensive than what I had seen. I asked about it and the person got snippy and looked at me like I was an inconvenience. Then I used the wellness pod and the fan wasn't working so it was hot and uncomfortable but I pushed through. Brought it up as I was getting ready to go and told "oh yeah that happens, we will put in another ticket". No apology or anything for a machine that wasn't fully functioning. The kicker? I then decided to try the anti aging stand up red light machine which was supposed to have vibration on the floor to vibrate the body. I tried the whole 12 minutes to get it to work and when I told them it didn't "are you sure? It should work, it did earlier." No sorry or anything just making me feel like an idiot (which I'm not). I know how to use the machines, they just didn't work. I probably won't be back to this location as I felt like I was more of a bother than anything even though it wasn't my fault that their machines didn't work properly and I was out 3 credits for half functioning things..... read more

Every time I go to this location, I'm welcomed with a smile! The girls are very helpful/ knowledgeable and not pushy when it comes to sells. I had an outstanding balance from previously and they offered to pay the balance by buying lotion and a package, definitely a win win. Will recommend to anyone! read more

I went to this location yesterday to take advantage of a deal they have going on for the Fourth of July. To my surprise I found out that I had an outstanding balance on an account from 2019. The girls there were super helpful and offered me many suggestions on how to solve this problem. I ended up getting product to equal out the amount (helpful since I needed it anyways) they were able to fix my account and explained why this happened. I went back later to tan and get a spray tan overall I am happy I returned and that the girls at the counter were able to help solve an pretty crappy situation with the perfect solution for me. read more

I work for a company thats #1 priority is customer service. That being said I was so disappointed at the level of service that was lacking at this location. The girls were young,which is not the issue, however they acted their age which was the issue. I was told that I could not tan there because I had an outstanding balance from 2015? I know the policies and I have only used one other location, when I did stop I absolutely ended the contract. They did not offer any solutions or suggestions on who I speak to about resolving this. it took three of them to explain this to me and then just stand there staring at me? It was super awkward and I could not exit soon enough. read more

The girls working here are sweet girls. This is an extremely clean and friendly place to go been going here for 8 years it's not just a tanning place in case you've never been. Check it out , they do have a lot to offer as far as skin care and red light therapy and a few more body treats.the only complaint I have is I got to know a few of the girls I missed a year and they were gone. The staff is very friendly for the most part. The only issue is every time I tan I'm offered the monthly deal. That isn't the issue though, one of the times when I was declining the special the employee was very rude about it. Because I didn't want the special she was aggravated. The establishment is clean and many products to choose from. The pricing is pretty normal to the other salons near. read more

I wanted to get a little bit of a tan for my son's wedding so I thought I'd give this place a try. Things have sure changed in the tanning business since I used to go in my 20's. I thought it was great! A little spendy but it's a nice place. The way these people do business on the other hand is almost predatory. Not only do you pay for a package of visits but you also pay for the privilege of using those prepaid packages. They call it a membership. So, for the last 6 months I've been telling myself that I shouldn't cancel because I still have prepaid visits and I might want to use them. Then, of course, never going because it just isn't something I seem to be into. Today I did some calculating and figured out that I have spent over $300 in products and fees at this place and I went tanning maybe 5 times 6 months ago. I called to cancel and was told I need to go in to cancel so I can sign some waivers. I'll bet I do! It's quite a racket. I am honestly disappointed in myself for being this irresponsible with my money. I wonder how much of their profits comes from preying on people like me. read more

rip off artists, kept on selling me stuff I didn't want. then after I stopped going they kept on charging my credit card . They said that i didn't come in and stop the membership that I didn't I had. Nice beds but - wow - pushy salespeople! I really get tired of them endlessly trying to push packages, higher level beds, etc. Ironically, I really enjoy the beds once I get in but will probably stop going the minute the weather gets better here just so I can escape the lectures about how I am "doing it wrong" because I didn't want to start with a Level 5 bed. To be honest, I would leave this place in a heartbeat and go somewhere else if I could be assured that all they would ask me is "What level bed do you want and how long do you want to tan?" BTW, before you pay $80 plus for those "tan enhancers" look up their top 5 - 6 ingredients on the Internet...yeah, pretty much a waste of money... read more

This place is clean and the staff is friendly. I prefer to use the level four and five beds for the low burn rate and quickest tan. When I'm not tanning I have put my account on freeze and paid a small monthly fee until I am ready to tan again read more

Has all the best services and products! 5 levels of tanning, redlight therapy that is good for anti-aging, bluelight therapy for acne/scarring, this really cool wellness infrared pod that burns calories while you sit back and get massaged! The staff are all awesome, it's really worth the money to sit down and be educated about tanning safety and all the benefits to the products to achieve that "Maui tan" and glowing skin! read more

Seattle sun tan at the lake Stevens frontier plaza is amazing place to go tanning. Staff is very welcoming and very organized. I get very good results when I go tanning from the recommendation of the staff. Definitely five star rating. read more

Horrible company. Bulbs are over 18 months old. They can't get their maintenance personal in to change bulbs for beds. They employee children. Tried over a dozen time to contact company left messages emails no reply. This business has gone down hill fast. New management does not care. read more

Went in to buy some tans to get a base tan going before leaving for my camping trip. Bought 5 tan pack and paid them $85 + dollars which is to expensive. That is just the beginning, 30 days later I get a notification on my phone that Seattle Sun Tan has debited my credit card additional $36 dollars when I called to ask "Why?". They said it was the membership fee. I was not made aware of any membership agreement but the gal at the Lake Stevens location signed me up for a membership without providing me any knowledge or documentation. I called the store and they referred me to corporate who I talk to a lady named Sara who refused to refund my credit card and wanted to give me store credit. The way they do business is unethical and they refuse to provide a credit to my card that they willingly debited without my permission or my knowledge . This company is hard up and refuses to do what is right by the customer. I would steer clear from doing business with them. read more
