This place again falls short on customer service. But they know how to steal, I have never had such issues with a tanning membership as I have with ANY desert sun tanning . They do what is called Illegal practices. Have you seen the beds edges or under.the bed, wow does no one train there employees on sanitary practice. Why clean the bed if your not cleaning the bed. I went to get a spray tan and was told once again their machine is broken. I've always received great customer service until I met Amber today. Rude. Terrible customer service. Could careless if their machines are broken and has a difficult time greeting customers properly. I was going to head over to the Mukilteo location to use their spray however they were closing in about 6-7 minutes. For the inconvenience, the girl on shift, was willing to wait 5-8 minutes after closing for me to arrive but her manager would not let her. Fairly disappointing that the manager would respond in such a poor way. I'm reasonable. I was willing to look passed the broken machines and rude Amber but not allowing an employee to wait 5-8 minutes after closing for the inconvenience is just flat out poor customer service. read more

I have had a membership with Desert Sun for a couple years now, not only has it been easy to freeze, but it also has a lot of perks! I like that I am able to use any bed since I have the Platinum membership. I usually tan up north but since I was in the area I decided to stop in while I was in Everett and Tabbi was awesome! Desert Sun is nearly the only tanning salon I have ever visited because of its cleanliness, affordability and accessibility. I recently signed back up to prepare myself for my wedding, and purchased the Groupon for $10 unlimited silver level tanning, which I immediately upgraded to the Diamond package (unlimited tanning, includes sprays!) for $55. Also bought the Kardashian Glow Special Event lotion which has been really good on my skin. Never had to wait for a bed... Yet! My only complaint is that the women working in here are about 10x less friendly than the other location in Mill Creek that I like to visit. Bummer.... You would think that paying $140 in fees and purchases this month would earn you some kind of respect.....? read more

I have come in several times and have found all of the girls to be helpful and great to talk to. They are kind, have great service and they let me vent about my day sometimes. All except one. Sammie is not personable. She won't look you in the eyes at all. She is too direct and very rude. I talked to the other girls about her and apparently she had had other people complain about her. She is short with customers, and seems to hate her job or is always having a terrible day. Either way, she needs to work on her attitude. Everyone else is great though. This Desert Sun is one of my favorite locations! Whenever I walk in, I am greeted with a friendly face and a warm welcome. I never feel pressured to buy anything from them like some other places I've been, but instead I feel more educated on the products and services I am using! I like DS tanning locations, my favorite one is in Freemont. This particular branch could use some equipment updates. The front desk girls seem to always get flustered if there is more then one person at the counter. They definitely need to upgrade the Mystic booth. Overall it's an average tanning experience. DS pricing is now focused on monthly memberships, which you can freeze for a small fee, and there are 4 price tiers, depending on what beds you like or can afford. I think tanning is very bad for your skin, so I prefer Mystic always, with a very occasional Super High bed, which filters out some of the UVA and UVB rays. read more

I have gone to numerous locations and the employees at the Everett mall location are amazing. They really are helpful if your in need of advice. They are knowledgeable in the equipment, and take the time to remember regular customers names. I was and still am surprised that the number of customers they remember. I've only been to this location for the mystic spray tans. They do have the new mystic HD booth (the most current mystic machine on the market). I've used the booth half a dozen times now and my tan has turned out perfect every single time. The machine sprays you four times with heated air in-between sprays. They offer more than one bronzing level so ask and they will recommend a good one. I'm giving them four stars because they don't offer appointments for spray tans and if you hit a busy time it takes awhile to get in. If you ask nicely they usually will give you better deals if you purchase more than one spray tan at a time. read more

I usually do med/hi pressure beds once every two weeks with a conventional in between. The med/hi pressures are cheaper at other salons but Desert has a decent 5 conventional for $25 deal. The deal is valid at all of their location and there one or more in every city. So convenient! This one has older beds but they tan just fine. Girls working here are super friendly. I just had to minus a couple of stars because of how dusty the floors were. It makes me question how good they wipe down the beds. read more

This location has always been unsatisfactory in my opinion. I only go to this one because it is 5 minutes away from where I live. I spray tan and every time the room is either out of towels, lotion, nose plugs or hair nets, without fail. Half the time the machine isn't turned on and I have to call from the room once I've undressed to remind them. The employees aren't particularly friendly, seem unhappy to be working or are busy talking to someone that is visiting them at work. Last night there was a friendly girl working by herself but it seemed as though she wasn't fully trained and definitely shouldn't have been left to run the business on her own. There was an unhappy customer trying to check in before me and that took a solid 7 minutes when it usually takes a minute. After I checked in I was there for a total of 40 minutes... FOR A SPRAY TAN. The machine was out of a cartridge and she didn't know how to reset it and tried for 20 minutes before I finally had to ask her to call someone for help. She called her manager who fixed the problem through a face time call and once I finally stepped into the spray tan, it sprayed air on my top half the first 3 passes. When I left she apologized and I could see 2 other women waiting to check in with the first one complaining about a bed that wasn't working for her either. I only continue to go here due to the fact that I PAID MONEY FOR A PACKAGE and want to use it. My husband and I are moving this month and I can't wait to find a different location to go to. The girls here don't seem that friendly compared to other locations. The service they provide is just not great. First off, (it was an honest mistake) I was told the wrong that I would be eligible for a killer deal that was offered on their website. I asked if I could use this on my next visit, and they said yes. When I went to a different location it turns out that it actually couldn't have been done so they did suggest for me to call customer service to see if they could help. Customer service was great. I went back to the Everett location to buy my lotion for later, and I knew exactly what lotion I wanted. The girl was not friendly and she says, "like you know that that's the lotion I want???" She had a little attitude which turned me off. I returned later in the day and the same 1 out of the 2 gals were tending to some other very nice customers. They greeted me, asked my name, and asked me if I wanted to tan. Then it was like they completely ignored me to talk to each other and the other customers and I was in a hurry! It was like they were so happy with the other customers, and although I was so polite &a simple with them, it was like they were so miserable dealing with me. Very rude girls. The only time they were nice to me was when they had my credit card in their hand. Also these two gals FAILED TO CLEAN THE TOP ACRYLIC. I didn't even look to see how well they cleaned the bottom acrylic that you laid on. I would recommend NOT going to this Everett location. I HIGHLY suggest the other Everett location as the best and Marysville as the next. DO NOT GO HERE UNCLEANLY AND UNFRIENDLY. read more

Went in yesterday around 5-6 pm and the there was quite a few people in the front. That must be a busier hour for them. I went in to try a spray tan which I hadn't done in about 10 years. The person in front of me took awhile for what she was doing and the girls working made sure to smile and thank me for waiting which was really nice! I work in customer service as well and I could tell the person ahead of me was, well... a little irritating lol They were both very polite to her the whole time! It was my turn and I purchased a few spray tans before I committed to more, since I wanted to see if I liked them beforehand. She walked me back and explained all the positions I stand in and where I should put lotion so I don't get orange palms, feet, etc. All in all, it was great customer service! The spray tan I got didn't make me orange (even slightly!) at all! It gave me a nice tan that faded about 7-10 days later :) read more

The difference between yesterday's associate and today's associate was night and day I wish I got in yesterday's name she was amazing above and beyond customer service. She was willing helpful and polite. Today's with the exact opposite she actually like I was a hassle I asked her for help with the standup a red light and how to get to the level I wanted and I was told "I would just use the navigation Pad " I don't normally work at the store so I have no idea she was dismissive and rude. But it seems to me if there's going to be employees from different stores working in stores are not familiar with maybe there should be some training went to been so bad if she was at least polite about it but again like I said she acted like I was a hassle for asking maybe is the fact that I tried to warn her that my account was hard to find and that set her off in the beginning ‍ not sure definitely a turn off though but kudos to the associate yesterday for taking pride in her job and going above and beyond in the customer service world read more

I have been goin to the DS for the past 2yrs and i have had nothing but bad customer service. I keep giving them a chance but it never ends. I bought a tan for a month for my daughter and paid with my credit card. When the month ended they went and charged my credit card again with out my permission and lied and said that i signed a paper and when i asked to see the signed paper they cud not produce it. The manager keeps putting of refunding me and the owner does not want to talk says" send me an email and i will take care of the problem" . Another problem i have seen that they have a sign saying " no children allowed in rooms and children have to be supervised" but guess what i have seen the girls let customers take babies into the hot tanning rooms and little kids ages between 1 and three are sitting unattended while their parent are in the tanning booth and i have asked why are u allowing this they ignore me.
