The bud vases were so sweet and romantic but also affordable. My sister commented they looked vintage chic. Alyssa is nice and if you need flowers, by all means hire her. But if looking for a full or day-of wedding/party planner, please stay away. I think she is just trying to get that part of her business up and running, but she should definitely stay in her lane. So much went wrong, so here goes. Her budget was way off. She did not return calls in a timely manner until it was brought to her attention. Not a big deal? Ah, sadly, there's more. We found out day before the wedding that her computerized version of seating arrangements was "just an approximation." So seating was way off from how we had imagined and we had to make last minute adjustments. She does not know how to run a rehearsal and announced to all that she had never seen a wedding like ours before! (The men walking to the front while bridesmaids walked down alone). This was followed by her lining up all backwards and everyone was trying to tell her it was wrong. So much confusion that the pastor finally took over saying, "Friends, I'm now running this rehearsal." She should've been embarrassed, but she wasn't. The day of the wedding she asked me how to display the table menus - one for each table. I had previously asked her how many frames to bring and she told me. I brought extra, but it wasn't enough. No problem, she said, we can just put the ones without frames up against the centerpieces. How tacky! As guests began to arrive, a friend asked where she could put her wedding gift. When I asked Alyssa, she said that "no one brings gifts to weddings anymore," so there wasn't a place for them. The wedding was to have bubbles on each seat. Not on mine, and I'm the MOB! Didn't get to blow bubbles for my daughter. And others felt the same way. What part of "every seat " is hard to understand? At the reception, wine was to be self-serve on the table and would then be replenished as needed. When I noticed some friends had no wine, her lame excuse was that she thought it would be nice to serve our guests. But those glasses were empty!! There's more but you get the picture. Along the planning way, when asked for lists of what she should be doing and when, her response was that we had no need to worry because it was all in her head. But it clearly was not. We paid a lot for her services. Almost $6000, not including flowers. The day ended up beautiful but because we had to work around her. Such a disappointment. The most disappointing things is when I reached out to her to discuss all of this after the wedding, she took absolutely no responsibility for anything. She actually thinks she did a great job. She ensured that the vision we had our big day was in line with the inspiration board we provided her including 2 large arch arrangements, 2 bride's bouquets,9 center pieces, 5 boutonniere, and 6 corsages . She also made sure everything was picture perfect for our bouquets including incorporating a picture pendant as well as carefully wrapping our bouquets in hand lettered ribbons that I had traced my late mothers handwriting on. I'm still a little shocked over how bad our ceremony flowers were. Attached are two pictures with the inspiration I sent and then a picture of what we got. I wanted stacked potted plants and flowers. It was supposed to look full, healthy, and flourishing. Instead, I got like 5 small, sad, wonky cactuses. It was so tacky and horrible to also be able to fully see the crates. I had asked Alyssa if she had basket pots to use and she said yes. No idea what happened to that. It looks like someone came and stole all our flowers. I don't know what she was thinking. Alyssa specially asked me if I wanted flowers on our arch and I told her I really just wanted the potted plants. I said that the plants should be so voluminous that we don't need flowers on the arch. She did the flowers on the arch anyway, I guess to try and make up for how bad the potted plants looked. But it wasn't what we wanted. This was $2,000. I don't understand how that's possible. I wish she was honest and told us she wasn't able to do it rather than put some $5 cactuses on crates and call it a day. I'm so embarrassed about how it looked.
