    Ringworm from infectious cat

We adopted two kittens from this rescue and were not told that they had ringworm. Their ringworm treatment was also omitted from their medical files, but their foster admitted they had ringworm and had been treated for ringworm through the rescue's volunteer vet. Now my daughter is covered all over her body with ringworm - 29 total lesions. Had we received a full disclosure about the cats medical history we would have likely caught it much sooner. We're looking at hundreds if not thousands of dollars for sanitization and medical expenses and at least four to six weeks to eliminate the spores from our carpeted home. I'm reading this could realistically take months to truly eliminate. We adopted these pets to bring joy in our home and now we're living in a nightmare.

The best part is they informed us how their rescue works and assured us that they are there for us 100% through the whole process. Even after adopting your new pup. I love how super quick they are to responding to messages, emails, phone calls. They really want to find their puppies and dogs, a forever Home. We are happy with our new Pup Tank and we renamed him Milo. Thank you Follow Your Heart Rescue for allowing us to believe in 2nd chances and helping us find our new fur family member! He is so loved! The event was a bit chaotic in knowing how to fill out what to get to meet a dog but it all worked out. We were shocked novody else was interested in this sweet boy and his foster eas very kind and informative to help us make sure he was a good fit for our home. They were also very patient with us running around to grab supplies. While the adoption fee is a bit higher than some rescues there is a tax break and it's nice that majority if the shots were paid and planned along with the neutering. Andy came home healthy with us and immediately took to his big sister who he loves so much. It was nice that he had spent time with his siblings so he was used to having another dog around and is just a great pup for our family! Can't imagine not having adopted him the day we met him.

My 8 year old was bit in his face the dog drew blood leaving my son with two scars on his face! I reached out to corporate explaining my concerns, One of my concerns was, the dog is either not a purebred or is inbred, and the temperament for my children was unexpected and not something that was going to be acceptable in my home. The lady offered to work with me either taking the pup back or compensating I explained to her that I would be getting a DNA test on the dog once I received his DNA test. I reached back out and they were unreachable. No one has ever followed back up with me and with his DNA test the dog has IVDD which is a spinal disease that will require surgery that's over $10,000. Still I cannot get a response. Nobody followed up. Nobody returned my messages. I definitely would not recommend buying a dog from this pet Store. They obviously don't do research on their breeders, this shows that their breeders do not have good breeding practices and they're just buying Dogs to resell them.

We have found that this shelter really cares about their pups, especially what type of home an adoptee is going to be part of. They do a great job of matching up their new family members. Our pup has become the BEST addition to our family. She was from a hoarding situ and was skittish, but she has become one of the sweetest family members we have ever had and we ADORE her! Valley Dogs is an extremely caring group that really does match up pups and their families. We are grateful they care so much about the pups in need! I have…read morefostered dogs for several local and non-local rescue groups including Valley Dogs, but what strikes me most about Valley Dogs is the animals they choose to pull from the shelters. Valley Dogs is run by a man named Michael West. From what I've observed, Michael chooses to take on the dogs that need the most help medically - the dogs hit by cars, obese owner surrenders, pregnant owner surrenders, older dogs with big hearts (figuratively) and medical conditions... I am not sure how he manages to finance all of this. Valley Dogs holds a few fund raisers through out the year, but I know the cost to get his dogs in good enough health to be adopted must be daunting. I can see the stress in his face every time I see him. However, he keeps pulling dogs in great need from the shelter because I don't think he can turn away. All of Valley Dogs rescues are fostered before they go up for adoption. This is a fantastic thing. Michael takes on a lot of these dogs. There is always a beautiful and kind red head (his wife?) that is with him at the adoptions and an older veteran as well. They foster a lot of the dogs, too. They know the quirks and idiosyncrasies of each of the dogs they foster. This helps with placement. I love this group. They are human, but they must be hidden angels because the dogs they are helping are the ones most definitely the most in need. They are very often at the PetsMart on 20th and Highland on the weekends trying to find homes for their dogs. If you see them and want a specific type of dog, I would imagine they would scour the shelters for you

MY good friend adopted 2 cats from here. It was a total hassle, horrible communication. And when we went to visit them before the adoption we were accosted by children at some sort of birthday party. The cats were STRESSED. WE WERE STRESSED. They scheduled our meeting with a birthday party for some young kids who were just flicking cat toys in our face and all the cats faces and running around so we couldn't interact like we would have hoped too. When we went to pick the boys up finally( 2 brothers who we were told wereNOT bonded but absolutely were.. thank goodness we took both)(..There was some sort of 'date' event going on and I had people swarming me constantly while I was trying to connect and CATCH the kitties we were taking home. It was a disaster. The price to adopt both was a Little outrageous as well considering you could tell they were fighting for food.... I appreciate what this woman is doing and please please adopt and don't shop, but be ready to spend some money and be frustrated trying to adopt.... Or even get a coffee from this cat 'CAFE'
