The pain is excruciating it burns and have shooting pain when I try to bend or straighten up. First week my leg from foot to top of leg was swollen. I called the az Ortho office and they ordered cat scan on left leg and groin area and front hip. Dr worthington cancelled front hip cat scan. I got a front hip MRI which was what Dr worthington cancelled . The front hip MRI findings were left total hip anthroplasty with periprosthetic bone marrow edema in the ancetabulum. Findings related to stress reaction or loosening.Small joint effusion. Also tearing of hamstring and left trochanteric bursitis. Dr worthington said it was muscles and said he couldn't find anything wrong and basically blamed me for my health issues. Also I said I was was in pain and he lunged towards me without warning and aggressively jammed my knee towards my chin I slid down high chair. It also caused more pain in my lower back. He knew I had bulging discs and stenosis.

My mom also had many concerning complications such as congestive heart failure and diabetes. So surgery for her was a risk. I believe he is one of the few surgeons who will redo a knee someone else already did. He did an excellent job with a very complicated case in the end. He is extremely kind, patient, thorough, and a general good guy. His compassionate care and bedside manner in addition to his excellent surgical skills make him a doctor I would highly recommend.

Dr. Wang did a Microdistectomy for me as well and was an incredible surgeon. The care here is top of the line and all of the surgeons in the practice come highly recommended.

I have been spending a lot of time here since I discovered that I have spinal stenosis. My journey…read morestarted a year ago when I started having sciatic pain in my legs. I didn't know what it was at the time or how to deal with the pain. My primary doctor recommended I see a spine specialist and begin physical therapy. I had heard about DISC on our local sports radio and from a friend that had been here before. Desert Institute for Spine Care is the leader in minimally invasive spinal surgeries. Everyone has been nice so far and informative about my situation and what to expect. My journey is still at the beginning for me. I am starting out with the least invasive options for myself like physical therapy and spinal injections to help manage my pain. So far I am seeing some moderate success with these options and able to enjoy life with minimal pain. Everyone's journey and experience is different. I am just thankful I have somewhere to go if things get worse for me.

Dr. Tallman's unique approach, techniques & training, (outlined on his website), are far superior…read moreto any other doctor/practice I've researched; and most importantly, the results are nothing shy of MIRACULOUS, (as a former National Champion distance runner, I have some very high standards too!). To date, Dr. Tallman has done 12 stem cell treatments on me in the past ~8 years, NEVER ONCE failing to FULLY heal a new injury with a SINGLE treatment, (and I've come in with the full gamut, ranging from various ligament sprains & frayed tendons, to cartilage fissures, to even a fractured talus). The sheer SPEED of recovery from his treatments is equally miraculous: I'm typically back walking 5-10+ miles per day within just 1-2 weeks post-treatment; and by 3.5 - 4 weeks, ready to do what I now live for: EXTREME off-trail hiking/peak-bagging that involves 11-20+ miles & 7-12+ hours PER DAY! In addition to being a super skilled doctor and a perfectionist, Dr. Tallman's 'bedside manners' are impeccable: he takes the time to LISTEN to the patient & answer questions, he thoroughly explains what issues are present & how he plans to treat them, and he takes the time to get the treatment done properly. To top it off, his passion & drive to help people just radiates and really enhances the overall experience. Words cannot express how incredibly thankful I am to have Dr. Tallman 'put me back together' each year, (...sometimes twice per year...!), after the hiking season where I've pushed my body to insane limits. The only drawback to having such an amazing, one-of-a-kind doctor in my corner: when he does finally decide to retire, (which thankfully isn't any time soon from what he's told me!), then by default, so must I. Concluding with a specific example, (and by far one of the most impressive!) is my right ankle, which had been nearing Stage 3 arthritis from a childhood injury that occurred over 2 decades prior to my first visit with Dr. Tallman. Subjectively speaking, I was unable to "lead" with my right foot/leg while stepping down off anything taller than about 6" (if I tried to do so, my foot would literally buckle out in pain, almost like the automatic recoil one would experience from touching a hot stove with bare hands). And even just walking across a level surface would amount to CONSTANT stiffness at best, often accompanied by mild to moderate soreness/pain. Unlike all the other (new) injuries, (which Dr. Tallman confidently & correctly predicted would be healed in full after just one stem cell treatment), he made NO promises on [what HAD BEEN] my 'bum' ankle. There were mild to moderate improvements after the very first treatment, (and each treatment thereafter), and by about the 4th or 5th stem cell treatment, the healing took off in leaps and bounds, (literally!), as I could leap off a 3' tall rock/boulder, or jump down the last few steps, and land on my right foot without issue! And after another 3-4 stem cell treatments, the ankle RARELY EVER feels stiff, even after sitting for hours on end & then getting up to walk. The miraculous, 'subjective' results are consistent with the improvements on the MRIs.

Knowing I was having surgery here eased my mind as I knew it would go well. My check in at the front was very thorough and I was called into the surgery area quickly. I really liked the warm blankets! I counted 7 people that assisted me and each one came up to me and introduced themselves and told me what they were doing that day. (not that I would remember!) They keep the family member waiting for you informed. I would definitely recommend this place for surgery!

Terrible communication--an uneasy feeling of broken trust. It felt like anything that didn't fit…read morewith his "assembly-line" approach wasn't welcome--he said the head of my femur was broken off, and I needed surgery urgently but then sent me home for almost 2 weeks before admitting me; meantime, I was disabled/in constant pain. I only saw him personally for initial consult, at which he interrupted me and left room while I was asking questions--and then saw him for about 30 seconds while in preop just prior to surgery and again in postop for about 30 seconds immediately after. There was no other contact with him after surgery, although I was hospitalized. He did not appear for first postop office visit either, which they scheduled with his surgical assistant. At that visit, 6 WEEKS AFTER SURGERY, I was told he had found bacteria DURING surgery and they urgently wanted me to see Infectious Disease doctor now. No explanation as to why I wasn't told this at time of surgery, why referral to specialist wasn't made while I was in hospital, or why no mention of it whatsoever was in op report. (Or for that matter, why he did not see me himself to explain.) Furthermore, the antibiotic prescription given to me (finally) at 6 weeks after surgery had completely wrong RX instructions on the label--directions said "Take 4 by capsules by mouth 1 hour before procedure." I had to call office and ask how they actually intended for me to take the antibiotic--at 6 weeks postop. I gave him 2 stars instead of 1 star because I believe, despite all of the above, he did a good technical job on total hip replacement surgery, as I am in less pain and function appears good after PT/OT assistance.
