As soon…read moreas I walked in there was a woman sitting at the welcoming window just staring at the computer. No smile, no acknowledgment of ppl coming in or standing there. Did not even bother to say go to the next window inside the door where people check out. Which is just rude. She should probably be placed in back if not providing assistance to people walking in. Another employee had to inform me she could assist inside since the woman at the window seemed to have no social skills. The other woman who checked me out was very pleasant. I had to contact the office 3 times for my paperwork & xrays. I was seen , did X-rays, etc and given an estimate because insurance covered that part but when I tried to schedule my extraction, I was denied an appointment due to outstanding bills for other people who used to be in my household. My bills are up to date. After being a patient there for years I would expect to be given at the very least other options to get seen for my tooth with an active infection that the dentist prescribed antibiotics for. Was basically told to figure it out with collections and that's it. I will be taking my $6 grand worth of needed procedures elsewhere. I do not recommend.

I was really surprised and scared to see the negativity so I was prepping myself to face some rude admin staff and planning on how to respond. I get there, was greeted and checked in with no issues or signs of disrespect. My hygienist remembered talking about my work a year ago and I thought that was really awesome since they see so many people. She got me in and out in 30 mins. She provided recommendations on things to try to address my needs and was overall positive I'm not really sure where the negative experiences come from but I felt the need to give them some credit. I do know getting an appointment is challenging but I feel that is the state of our healthcare.

(Most places do that). On the first day as a front desk receptionist when I had no idea what I was doing they left me alone for multiple hours when customers were coming in ON THE FIRST DAY. second day same thing. Third day same thing but the difference with the third day was she left all alone and came back when lunch was going to start and said: "Grab your lunch let's go have a chat". She sat me down and said: "I don't think you are catching it on enough", "I haven't even taught you the tip of the iceberg". She fired me on the spot. Keep in mind that I was left alone for hours every day when I was working there. They don't know how to train their employees and don't know how to treat people like human beings. Basically asking you to work like a robot with no instruction. I would be surprised if this business is still in business for another three years!!! TERRIBLE!!! TERRIBLE!!! TERRIBLE!!! In Scottsdale and Phoenix and everywhere else I've lived. I've never had a dental office or doctor refuse to just file the secondary insurance and make you pay what Wen insurance covers only... My dentist in Scottsdale NEVER did that. She made my life harder. It was more work for her, so she didn't want to do it. So I went in and talked to her face-to-face and she said it's something they experimenting with and not to worry about it they would file it for my husband. I told her that paying out-of-pocket isn't ideal when you have double insurance. I mean 30 days later you get paid. But she said they would work it out this time and when my husband came in, she went behind my back and charged him. Not what we talked about!! And I personally don't like being lied to my face. So then they filed the secondary insurance and I had to wait 30 days and monitor it. Just one more thing I have to keep up with... That I shouldn't have to... Once I saw that it was paid, I waited 10 more days without hearing anything from them so I sent an email and told them that I saw that thet had been paid and I would come by and pick up the payment. Again, more work for me to monitor and now ask when they're going to pay me? She said 7 to 10 days... Well, 10 days of nothing. I mean, she demanded payment from my husband before they would treat him, so why should they sit on my money? So they replied to the email and said it would be 7 to 10 days. And I responded back. I would come pick it up that day. They could just cut me a check. It had already been 7 to 10 days, and after all they made my husband pay the day he went in. And they created all this extra work and stress for me... She doesn't want to do her job. And she doesn't want to make it easier on the customer. She even told me it was harder for her... So then I assume that she tells the dentist that I am a problem and they send me a letter saying they're going to discontinue us as customers. Well, good riddance. If the doctor doesn't want to hear the other side of the story and wants to hear this mouthy woman in the office. Go for it. So this really isn't a surprise. But it is quite disappointing. I mean how freaking hard is it to just file the secondary insurance? But they'd rather lose customers. So just sharing our story. Good luck if you go here. Because she's not very friendly and she doesn't want to do her job. But the dentist themselves were great, but apparently are listening to one side of the story from a lazy office person who doesn't want to help the customer. Goodbye. Luckily I was not in any hurry for a new patient appointment (just due for a cleaning and did not have any issues to report) because it took several months to get me in. If I had a more urgent issue they may have taken additional steps to get me in sooner--not sure, as that wasn't the case for me. My appointment started promptly. The hygienist assigned to me was kind and did a great job taking x-rays and cleaning my teeth. Dr. Hicks was friendly and professional. I have had some dentists that try to sell me nonsense cosmetic crap for my teeth, and was glad that Dr. Hicks and her team did no such thing. Everyone in the office was upbeat and friendly: you can tell the staff is treated well, because the morale is high. I would recommend Dr. Hicks to anyone looking for a new dentist.

I have been taking my kids here for 14 years. I have four kids. My youngest son needs quite a bit…read moreof work. I let them know we were not comfortable with full sedation and they terminated his care because we don't agree with their treatment plan. My son was overstimulated on his last visit. There was a child screaming in the other room and that set the tone for his experience. So, now he's basically traumatized. It wasn't an issue of pain, it was an issue of impatience and lack of care of a child who is overstimulated from the kid screaming and all the stuff going on in his mouth. It felt like a slap in the face, being told they couldn't see him anymore. It took me a few hours to process. This response to a parent being legitimately concerned, she even stated that it's a hard decision to make, is appalling and unprofessional. There are thousands of kids who need special care and who, for medical reasons, are unable to be fully sedated. Our final experience here has been disappointing. Although, my son is quite happy he doesn't have to go back there ever again.
