One of the best thrift stores I have ever been to. I have gone to several of the Deseret locations and have never been disappointed. Staff are great! Prices are great! They have a great selection that is updated often! The store was clean and so well organized. I will continue to come back here!

I have driven by this store so many times and finally decided to check it out and boy was I impressed! I went last Friday around 11am and was surprised to see so many people shopping. I went in to browse but most people seemed to be regular shoppers there. This store is huge, very well organized and clean. So refreshing that the store did not smell at all. I hate it when some of the thrift stores have that awful lingering smell:( You'll find pretty much everything here. There are a ton of clothes for everyone including children, furniture, home decorations, toys, electronics, kitchen ware and so much more. One thing I noticed was that they do have some brand new clothes. I actually asked one of their employees about it and was told everything is donated. Clothes seemed to be in very good condition and the prices were super cheap. Everything in this store was incredibly low priced in my opinion. I understand why they're so popular! I learned Deseret Industries a non profit thrift store owned and operated by Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. They provide employment and help people in need.

Talk about a cute place. Deseret Industries is a non-profit thrift store located in San Tan Village. The store itself is large, clean, and well laid-out. It reminded me of a better version of Goodwill, or Ross. They sell anything from movies to clothes. The selection was awesome, and I snagged some amazing deals. The place isn't for profit, which means the prices are very reasonable. Staff was rather eclectic but very nice-- my type of people. I'll definitely be back!

Nice! A bit of everything. It's clean and well lit. Super nice customer service with a nice hello and a come back soon. Lots of room to move around with all the usual thrift items. Prices are overall pretty reasonable. This place was pretty fun hunting for stuff I didn't know I needed and definitely things I didn't but bought anyway. Last words...put that back!

Perfectly placed books!

Pretty good thrift! I must say, it's even better than Goodwill. The staff is exceptionally nice, especially the ones assisting in the furniture section. I attempted to give a tip to a helpful kid who assisted me in loading furniture into my car, but he vehemently refused. explained that it wasn't customary and appeared afraid to accept my gesture. Hey, listen up, Buttercup! Accept the money! Every other place I know accepts tips, so why not this? Nevertheless, this place is impressively organized, and the pricing of shirts is spot-on. The only downside was the book section, which seemed to have an excessive amount of Trumplican books.

Adidas backpack only $3 !!!

When I shop thrift I usually shop at Goodwill. I tried this Deseret out for the 1st time and was impressed. It's very large, maybe the largest thrift store I've patronized. There's a large selection but I was just interested in a backpack. I was nicely surprised to find a high quality Adidas pack which matched my Adidas cap. It was only $3 !!!. Staff is professional and I was out the door happy. Highly recommended...Deseret makes my top 5 Arizona thrift store list.

I understand y'all work on volunteer services but this dude is beyond rude! I picked up an iced tea container and the lid broke. This guy came over, didn't ask if we were ok (my mom and I) just accused us of breaking stuff. It took another employee to come intercept to calm the air before he just threw up his arms and walked away. While I continued to shop, I witnessed him being nasty towards other people who needed assistance. I guess being in a nicer part of town doesn't mean nicer volunteers. The Mesa location has much nicer volunteers that don't treat you like garbage

Great place to find used goods. Also they accept donations for things you don't use anymore. Will use again.

Ask the Community - Deseret Industries

Do they carry women's plus size?

Yes we do - we have a section on the right side near the tall fixtures with dresses on them. Please come in and see how beautiful our store is!

My mom wants to know if they give senior discounts on Tuesdays like Goodwill. Do they have colored tag days also?

No they don't. There prices are way below Goodwills and a lot better quality

I had lived there since June 2025 with zero issues, but everything changed the moment my son needed medical help. On 9/24/25, I informed them that my 14-year-old autistic son had been admitted to an inpatient psychiatric facility for suicidal ideations. Only two days later, on 9/26/25, staff member Sofia Spanarkel contacted me demanding that I sign over his private medical records. House of Refuge is not a medical or psychiatric facility and is not covered under HIPAA, so I asked for their specific concerns in writing. They never responded. Instead, without warning, I was issued a 30-day notice to vacate on 10/3/25. After months of having no issues, the timing makes the motive impossible to ignore. It felt like direct retaliation for refusing to hand over my child's sensitive medical information. When I submitted a formal complaint to the director, Kayla Kolar, I was not met with any explanation or concern--instead, I received an email stating that all communication must go through their lawyer. For a place that claims to support families in crisis, this response was deeply unsettling. Families dealing with medical emergencies deserve compassion and support, not intimidation or displacement. No parent should ever feel punished for protecting their child's privacy. Based on my experience, I strongly warn other families to think twice before relying on House of Refuge.

I stayed here a couple of months, as the months went on case manager jeannie started asking questions that were very personal and uncomfortable. She was very unprofessional. It started to be awkward because she asked uncomfortable questions...so she scheduled over the phone meetings... There were a couple misunderstandings on her behalf. When they come into your home they're supposed to open cabinets and simply look for damage, or drugs and alcohol. (Luckily for me I don't drink or use drugs.) During a monthly inspection, Elasah went into my closet and touched my belongings...opening my brown paper bag with hair dye from sallys. (I'm assuming she thought she could find something in there lol) she continued going through my stuff...I have it on camera. Extremely unprofessional. CEO needs to reevaluate the case managers. They should have residents take surveys about their case managers so you can have some real input. Leasing Manager kim was SUPER helpful! Everyone at the donation center is nice and helpful, they're good people in there!
