Desantis is not a good landscaping company. They didn't mow our lawn on a regular basis, so the grass gets too long. They do not weed so there are weeds in the grass and in the flower beds. They recently cut down 25 expensive imported tulip bulbs that were just beginning to grow. They were a row precisely 4 inches apart and with so many in a perfect row. The greenery was a two-toned spider leaf not typical of a flat leaf weed. If this company is a landscaping company, how do they not know the difference between flowers and a weed? After multiple emails with pictures and phone we finally were able to talkto them about the bulbs being cut to nubs in the ground. They apologized but, refused to pay the $150 to replace them. If you are looking for a landscaping company, call someone else if you want your yard to be cared for well. read more

if I could leave ZERO stars I would. This company does not have ANY respect for peoples property or vehicles. I live in an apartment complex they regularly service, not only do they blow leaves and pine needles onto our porches. They blow gravel, dirt, and debris onto our vehicles. and in turn my brand new vehicle has been damaged. read more

Had a little problem with couple of the heads on our inground sprinkler system that we could not take care of on our own. We called another landscape service first and after well over a week they hadn't even called back to schedule an appointment as they had indicated they would. We called DeSantis and they set an appointment immediately. They arrived shortly before the scheduled time and within minutes had remedied the situation. They were very knowledgeable about the sprinkler system, answered a few questions about it not related to the immediate problem they were fixing and were very pleasant to work with. They will definitely be the first call in the future. read more

I couldn't be happier with DeSantis Landscapes! From the initial bid process through the final day of construction, the team was spot on professional. We completely revamped our backyard space of about 1,800 sq. ft. to include a shed demo, several large plants removed, a drainage system, a gravel pad for a new shed, new sod, the planting of 12 plus plants, one Japanese Maple and 12 Arborvitae. Andy gave a fair bid and kept to budget throughout, coming up to Portland to check on the project's progress on a regular basis from start to finish. He also offered great advice as to how to care for the new various plants, trees and lawn. Luis, Mateo and crew were awesome as well. Always on time, always cleaned up at the end of the day and consistently showed pride and respect for the project! The entire team was friendly and very approachable from start to finish. I'm almost sad it's done... I guess we'll have to have them back to do the front next! I would highly recommend this company for your landscaping needs! We have a little pond in front of our house that had the pump going out. Called around and found many companies who wanted to charge just to come out and take a look. DeSantis offered a free estimate. Carlos was outstanding, he found a great deal on the pump and replaced it in a very timely fashion. Highly recommend this company! read more

DeSantis Landscapes is hands down one of the best experiences I have had with a local business in Oregon. Their employees are friendly, professional, and go above and beyond to make your outdoor space look incredible. I was feeling quite frustrated when my husband and I bought our new home last year and had no idea what to do with our large yard that was in complete disarray. We received a recommendation from a close friend for this company and are so glad we chose them. We weren't sure exactly what we wanted to do with our yard, but their team were so friendly and asked us great questions to guide and create our landscape design. They cleared out all of the old weeds, shrubs, and crumbling patio stones and hauled everything away for us. They helped us decide on a new patio, where to place our pathway, bushes, flower beds, and grass. They even consulted with us on outdoor lighting and put in a gorgeous water fountain for us. My husband and I are so happy with our beautiful backyard, and would recommend this company to anyone in the Salem or Portland area. read more

I would rate this landscaper with negative stars if the option was available. I am an owner of The Garden's Townhome community in Vancouver, WA for which Desantis is the landscaper of record for the HOA. This landscaper does the absolute bare minimum in order to collect their monthly paycheck I have complained on numerous occasions to the HOA about the lackluster performance, which in my opinion is closer to negligence, of this property by this service provider. They do not prune, they do not weed, they do rake leaves, all of which are included in the contractual scope of work unless someone from this community complains to our property management company. The only thing they do is blow the sidewalks. Heck for the $1000 a month that they are charging our HOA I'll to buy a leaf blower and blow the sidewalks. We sure don't need any kind of "professional" (loosely termed) landscaping professional to blow the sidewalks. One of the owners indicated that they informed the owner of this business to never touch anything on their portion of the property again as, the last time they actually did prune, they apparently killed whatever it was that they pruned. When the complaints are made, they do make a trip back out to the property but only to do the absolute bare minimum, which is standard operating procedure for this provider. Our board of directors have seen enough and have had enough complaints that they will be terminating our contract with them but in my opinion, it is not happening fast enough. This landscaper is all too happy to take your money and do nothing but blow your sidewalks. If you're looking for a provider that actually intends to earn their paycheck and take some kind of pride in their workmanship than HIRE SOMEONE ELSE!!! read more

DeSantis recently took over our grounds with such care and attention that it blew our minds. We had a horrible company put a sprinkler system in our front yard and destroyed our lawn. I called DeSantis Lanscaping and they came out and replaced our lawn. They did an outstanding job, they were timely and fair priced. The crew was what a homeowner dreams of, they were very concerned in quality and was extremely respectful. They even went above and beyond and readjusted my sprinkler heads (including replacing some of them) and showed me how the hole system worked. This was not their responsibility but that is the kind of company they are (the previous company never showed me any of this). I had two small spots of the grass that turned brown (due to the sprinklers) and they came out and reseeded the areas and double checked the sprinklers to make sure they were working properly. My new lawn looks wonderful - it looks better than the boulevard strip the other company planted. My only regret in this project is that I didn't contract DeSantis Landscape from the beginning!! I can't say enough about them - Thank You DeSantis for turning a horrible experience (from the previous company) to a fantastic one. read more

I've worked with DeSantis since a major remodel in 2010. They do landscape maintenance for me, and my contract manager, Jamie Sloan, helps me refine and update the landscape periodically. Salem is a crowded market and "unskilled" labor (I certainly don't have these skills, so I think the work these folks do is miracle work and highly skilled!) means high turnover rate among front line staff--this is the only reason I don't give 5 stars--but the folks at DeSantis have impeccable standards, the crews are reliable, and whenever I have a question or concern, they are responsive and attentive. People in my neighborhood actually slow down to look at my house and landscape, and strangers actually stop to tell me how much they love what they see. Jamie is also wonderfully creative and sensitive to my aesthetic, so I know I can trust her advice. It's a pleasure working with her and I'm proud that DeSantis takes care of my home. They're really top notch and I can't recommend them highly enough! read more
