The office staff has been responsive and courteous to all of my requests and questions. I felt like I never really got a chance to ask the doctor questions about my surgery, length of stay or recovery. I am currently 10 days post-op, and have improved but still considerable discomfort and pain. I assume this is normal but I have had no communication with the hospital or doctor. My post-op appointment is still 5 days out. The other issue I had was waiting for discharge from the hospital. I was kept overnight and told I would be going home the next day. The next day the doctor did not come by for "rounds" until late in the afternoon. I was not released until after 7:00pm that night, long day just waiting to go home. These issues do not allow me to leave a rave review about this surgical experience. Ultimately, the level of success in resolving my issues and controlling my pain will be the final determinant of this experience. I hope to find in a few weeks that my neck/back pain has subsided. If this happens, then I will be singing the praises of Dr Brkaric's work!

I forced him to cite his reference to support his conclusions. I asked that the citation be included in the clinical notes. He did not include it. After going back and requesting it, his office staff spoke to him and they provided a citation that undermines his own conclusions and documented findings. Don't expect an honest assessment. I have already placed a call to file a formal complaint. So far I have not received a response. Whether Goodman Campbell, writ large, is 1-star, I can't say. My experience with Dr. DePowell was sub 1-Star.

He is one of the leading neurosurgeons in the world when it comes to baclofen pumps so I knew I was in good hands. I had tons of questions and concerns before committing to the surgery. Dr. Lee sat down with me and thoroughly answered all my questions. Since having my surgery, I can honestly say it was the best decision for me. The nurse who maintains my pump is fabulous! I was 65 and have had back problems since I was 20 years old, I was there to find someone with a solution; not a lecture! I came in knowing that I wanted a laminectomy or ablation on the nerve roots of my L3, L4 and L5 facets of my spine. I had previously had the tests done for this procedure. Dr. Schmidt would known this if he had taken the time to read my chart. Dr. Schmidt then proceeded to draw a picture of a spine on a piece of paper to explain the problem. All this was demonstrated in front of the nameless visitor present at my exam. Is Dr. Schmidt possibly training a new doctor on how to interact with patients? I cannot imagine a worse choice for a trainer.

We learned that the spine hospital only hires staff that has a lot of experience with spine surgery. They have the most state of the art equipment and the facility is immaculate. Everyone on staff loves their job and it comes through the way they treat their patients. If you need spine surgery, consider asking your doctor if they work out of this hospital. Insurance covers them the same as any other hospital.

Went to the office last week about this issue and couldn't speak to anyone besides the front desk due to "policy". This is incompetence, medical negligence, and mal-practice. Will be contacting the states attorney and a personal one for action. This "consortium" acts and feels like a complete scam with no regard for patients.
