Dr Shannon McKenna was the surgeon and kept rescheduling the follow up appt with the excuse of being in surgery. By the 3rd reschedule we had had enough and go figure he wasn't in surgery and was able to keep the appt. I normally do not leave reviews but I've had to watch my husband suffer through the most excruciating pain since the end of November 2025 that intensified tenfold at the end of February. I took over the communications between the Drs office and my husband because he was too frustrated and miserable to deal with it. We were constantly calling the office for help ..... finally scheduled another MRI of cervical spine to "find out what was going on". Luckily I set up an account and read the report and had access to the images within a day of having the MRI. Almost 2 weeks later the NP calls me to tell me everything looks good and the Dr is referring him to pain management. I read the report and it clearly said he has a pinched nerve root just under C6..... she never once mentioned that until I asked about it. And then blew it off as if it was nothing. When we went to this surgeon my husband had pinched nerves in the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine that the Dr was aware of. I questioned her about this referral and called her out on the fact this surgeon was just pushing him off to pain management instead of actually trying to help him find the problem and fix it. My husband has no desire to be on any opioid to mask the pain. He wants to find the problem; fix the problem. Needless to say I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE FOR ANYONE! The office staff was FANTASTIC! The surgeon Shannon McKenna was the absolute worst doctor I have ever interacted with. Before the surgery we did not have any kind of explanation of what to expect for the day of surgery, the aftercare, the process for afterwards whether or not he will have physical therapy, how long the recovery is, nothing. See you this day this time have a good day. We had to ask them about physical therapy during the follow up appt and were told we could do it if we wanted to. We are now 6 months out and my husband hasn't been able to return to work for 9 months. He struggles to take deep breathes, moves just right and his body locks up, wakes up in pain, troubles moving his neck, laughing can stop him in his tracks. NO ONE SHOULD HAVE TO LIVE LIKE THIS! No respectable Doctor would wash their hands of someone who is so obviously in severe pain that they just can't take anymore. No Dr McKenna refers him to pain management and dismisses him as a patient "due to being confrontational" - which is a joke because they haven't even dealt with him since May! So what is he hiding From? Only time will tell as we get into the new doctors to find out. I highly recommend to NOT see this surgeon if you have any need to visit this place!

I forced him to cite his reference to support his conclusions. I asked that the citation be included in the clinical notes. He did not include it. After going back and requesting it, his office staff spoke to him and they provided a citation that undermines his own conclusions and documented findings. Don't expect an honest assessment. I have already placed a call to file a formal complaint. So far I have not received a response. Whether Goodman Campbell, writ large, is 1-star, I can't say. My experience with Dr. DePowell was sub 1-Star.

I thought this was odd since Dr, Mobasser used the same model in his office to explain the problems I was having with my back. I was 65 and have had back problems since I was 20 years old, I was there to find someone with a solution; not a lecture! I came in knowing that I wanted a laminectomy or ablation on the nerve roots of my L3, L4 and L5 facets of my spine. I had previously had the tests done for this procedure. Dr. Schmidt would known this if he had taken the time to read my chart. Dr. Schmidt then proceeded to draw a picture of a spine on a piece of paper to explain the problem. All this was demonstrated in front of the nameless visitor present at my exam. Is Dr. Schmidt possibly training a new doctor on how to interact with patients? I cannot imagine a worse choice for a trainer.

We learned that the spine hospital only hires staff that has a lot of experience with spine surgery. They have the most state of the art equipment and the facility is immaculate. Everyone on staff loves their job and it comes through the way they treat their patients. If you need spine surgery, consider asking your doctor if they work out of this hospital. Insurance covers them the same as any other hospital.

She has been without a needed medication for almost 3 weeks while fighting a potentially life threatening infection. Have called the number at least 50 times and get sent to voicemail, never a return call. They actually answered yesterday and said the medication would be ready by end of day, it was not and still isn't. Went to the office last week about this issue and couldn't speak to anyone besides the front desk due to "policy". This is incompetence, medical negligence, and mal-practice. Will be contacting the states attorney and a personal one for action. This "consortium" acts and feels like a complete scam with no regard for patients.
