I've tried a few dermatologists in the area and am grateful I finally stumbled upon Dermatology Specialists of Spokane. I've always had great experiences here and feel like the care and attention I receive from Dr. Urso is top notch. She's professional, knowledgeable and fast, and I trust her and her team with my health-which is something I never felt in other offices. I had a pretty serious basal cell carcinoma on my nose. I had two other surgeries and this would be my third. I was told it was deeper than the others. I was nervous but when Dr. Lark Guss, my surgeon did the surgery I didn't even have much of a scar. When I went to the YMCA to exercise the day after the stitches were removed (7 days) no one and I mean no one could even tell I had anything done. Everyone said if they ever had to have this type of surgery they were definitely going to have Lark Guss do it for them. I can't thank her enough for her professionalism and skill. Front staff is horrible, you make appointments well in advance and then when you show they tell you that your on the wrong date. Not to mention they obviously don't know how the referral process works and kept getting told there is no referral in place. I found that funny because my insurance gladly switched to new dermatologist and made an appointment the same day for the referral that's been in the system for over a month. I gladly and quickly switched to a different dermatologist! As for the dr experience. She didn't seem to care or want to help me. Felt like I rushed the entire time to get in and out. I need to explain the five star rating. Since I will be a new patient soon, I am going off of the reviews written here. I am hoping to have a great experience with this new office. My one concern is getting back to me in a timely matter with biopsy results. I see according to one poster, that in her experience, this is the case. I've had a horrible experience with another dermatologist office (although loved the drs.) in leaving me hanging for several days for a biopsy when they had the results for several days. TWICE! My first appointment was amazing. I did wait in the waiting room for 35 min, and then 20 min in the room before I saw the dermatologist. He was very thorough-explained everything to me and wanted to see me in six weeks to follow up. I made an appointment and then showed up for the appointment. The front desk staff are completely unprofessional and rude. One staff member barked at me to go stand by the door. I saved the appointment with the wrong time-by ten minutes. I showed up and they told me I had to reschedule my appointment. I asked for the front staff member to check to see if the dermatologist could see me and she acted like it was a huge inconvenience and tried to get me rescheduled. I was firm, and she went back and said that she didn't see the dermatologist so he was probably with the next patient. I said that I waited 30 min last time so that didn't make sense to me, and she told me repeatedly that I was "13 minutes late" and "17 minutes late". I finally agreed to reschedule, and the next date was SEVEN weeks out. I was extremely sad-my acne has gotten so much better thanks to Dr Reagan Brown and we were going to address scarring. The doctors and assistants are very professional but the front staff is extremely unprofessional. This review would've received only one star because of the front staff but because the dermatologist was so great I gave it three. read more

So happy with DSOS! From the first time I called they have been extremely helpful and kind. Dr. Lundgren is super knowledgeable and has the best bedside manner. She is clearly passionate about what she does and really takes the time to listen to your concerns and help pick the best plan of care. He showed 0 compassion for me and apparently thought it would be ok to spend less than 5 minutes with me after I waited for over a month to see him. My first visit was quite stressful. I showed up very early and was given an ipad to give my history and in only 5 minutes I was asked three times to go in for exam. As a new patient I expected a little longer visit but the PA rapidly went through my body check and did a biopsy. She automatically went through instructions and seemed unable to adapt to me as a medical professional. The office also charges to send out medical records! I don't recommend this office for giving personal treatment. read more

We saw Dr. Reed. I had a red mark on my son's face zapped with a laser. This 2 minute procedure cost $225+, which is not a problem for a good result. It came back in a month and they told me it would be full priced for a second round. I am really disappointed and will be shopping around. read more

This was my first experience at an aesthetic office and my experience was truly scary and frightening. The staff is very rude and aggressive towards their patients. I would never recommend this place to anyone. They treat you like you are a burden to them, only want your money and they want to fight with you if you need to reschedule appointments for any reason. Even if you give them a two week notice to reschedule an appointment they are rude. The treatment I was receiving was very brutal to my face and I needed three days to heal after the treatment due to open wounds on my face. Because I work M-F I desperately needed a Friday appointment due to the mandatory 3 day healing process. It took three days to heal and you cannot be in the sun, wind or sweat until you properly heal. They are like bullies on a playground, very mean if you needed to schedule your appointment on a Friday! If you are actually successful in getting your appointment rescheduled, they do not cancel the appointment you took the time to reschedule and send you a text to charge you $25-250 fee when you do not show up to the appointment you canceled. They do not assist you with product questions. They do not send you home with the products you paid for to assist in the treatment healing process after a procedure. They do not have an after hours phone number to call for emergencies or questions after a procedure. Horrible staff and company. I do not recommend. read more

First visit with them was great. They, at least, seemed to care then. The appointment was on time. The front desk staff amicable. On my second visit, however, the person who saw me (Amanda) had already made up her mind as to what was wrong with me and didn't want to listen to my concerns nor answer most of my questions. It felt like she had already JUDGED my condition. Each time she would repeat that my condition itched (which it never did and still doesn't), I would correct her, but she would keep saying things like 'In order to deal with the itch...' 'To help with the itch...' WHAT ITCH? She never wanted to admit that there was, indeed, no itch. Also, she 'blamed' me for not coming back sooner if the problem hadn't resolved but when I called and emailed them, they said the medicine could take a full year to work and that I should wait. Following that, I was 'blamed' for not using telemedicine which was NEVER offered to me. Had I known they had it, I would've made full use of it. This attitude of constantly blaming the patient instead of working with them, is very poor customer service. I feel sad for someone like Amanda who feels she needs to attack rather than help. I hope you learn better ways as you get more experience. It also felt like she only had 4 minutes to give me, and no more. I was an imposition. So uncomfortable to be put in these kinds of situations. read more

Awesome clinic. Came into clinic to have to moles removed from my face and they notice flaking on my nose, that I was unaware of. Did a biopsy that day in office and came back cancerous. Within three weeks I had all of the cancer removed from my nose by Dr Chestnut and healing up nicely. Great job!!!! Always a great experience, from general dermatology issues to cosmetics! The front desk does a wonderful job scheduling, calling when cancelations occur and getting me right in if there's an emergency. They even squeeze you in when you are late to your appointment. The back office staff is always helpful, knowledgeable, friendly and kind during the entire office visit even on days that the doctor may be running a little late. The assistants are also very prompt when returning phone calls and answering all of my questions and concerns even when I'm not in the office. The physicians and PAs are all very knowledgeable, they listen to all of my concerns and always ask if there is anything else they can help with prior to leaving the exam room. They explain everything from my treatment plan to fully explaining and reassuring me about any surgeries, I always feel part of my medical care. The clinic itself is always clean and organized as well! Whether I'm there for my kids or myself I was leave reassured and with all my questions answered. read more

We've been going to this practice for over 12 years (got a recommendation to the practice right after we moved into town) and my preferred doctor is Trent Lengl, PAC. He's done a fabulous job for me over the years: clearing up my adult acne once and for all, removing weird little things, treating my kids for various concerns, and consistently giving caring care. No question or concern is too small or treated as insignificant. Honestly, he's terrific. read more

I have only compliments for the Medical and esthetician staff at Dermatology Specialists of Spokane. Everyone from the front desk staff on is interested in the patient, answers questions fully and completely, and makes sure that the advice and treatment plans are understood. The estheticians are well educated about how best to care for the skin, in concert with the physicians' advice. There is little pressure to buy product, however the products offered are scientifically sound. I found Dr. Reed extremely kind, listening to every concern and offering sound advice. I went to this clinic for persistent acne, after only having had mild breakouts my entire life, and never anything so persistent. I was quite impressed with the way the front office handled scheduling, reminders and questions. The assistant (?) to the PA I saw was amazing and Desiree was phenomenal. I didn't realize the true breadth, depth, scope of what was covered until after I left. She asked in depth questions, listened to what I said, what I'd tried, and not only offered a solution, treatment plan, and follow up within a reasonable timeframe- but she also was affirming and took time to address my concerns. Additionally, when a prescription required a pre-approval, rather than letting the pharmacy handle it, the assistant handled everything and I was able to fill the script immediately. Which is entirely unheard of in my experience. I'm unsure why there are so many negative reviews here, but perhaps it's strictly because those with positive things to say are not taking the time to comment as they are so overwhelmingly satisfied. read more
