Rosemary not only customized a facial based on what my skin was needing, she recommended some products that would help with what my skin was going through. I received a gift certificate for a facial and massage. I have never gone into a massage where I was told there were many issues with my body. I did not leave the spa feeling relaxed whatsoever. The masseuse used too much pressure even though I had asked them to back off. Thank god I had a hot tub at home. As for the facial they use steam and the steam for some reason kept making me cough. They finally pulled the steam from being way too close to my face. That seemed to help. read more

WAX!!! My first, ahem, girly waxing experience. Nervous? Yes. That would be an understatement. I have heard raves about waxing, as well as horror stories, so I was a bag of mixed feelings before my appointment. The prices at Dermage were more than I could've gotten at an equally nice spa in Manhattan (according to my knowledgeable gal pals), but this was not a bad place to go as a first timer. A nice man greeted me, gave me a questionnaire to fill out, and offered me a bottle of water. When I was all done, the lady attending to me escorted me to a small room, decorated sparsely with appropriately picked comforting shades of beige/sand. I'll spare you the details, but let's just say the procedure was WAY better than anticipated. The lady (I am blanking on her name, but she is Ukrainian I believe) talked to me the entire time to distract me, and was attentive to my level of comfort. I recently posted about being unhappy with a massage I had at Dermage, and how my displeasure was handled. After that post the owner called me to explain my dissatisfaction should have been handled differently and offered me another massage with a different therapist. I accepted and am happy to report that this massage was 1000x better. No place is perfect and it's how you handle what made the customer unhappy. First off, if you have an online booking system, it should work or at least have someone overseeing it if you are having 'glitches.' If you're not fully committed to an online presence, don't put up a site, or worse, a booking system if you are not going to take the proper care to keep it functioning. Second, you did not explain anything to me when i came in 5 minutes late, other than 'Sorry, she took her next appointment.' If my appointment was for two services.. which would have had me blocked for 30-40 minutes time, how would being 5 minutes late warrant me forfeiting my whole appointment? Rather, it would make sense to cut my appt. short so as not to run into and make the next client wait. Clearly someone else just walked in and you chose to throw my business aside for being five minutes late. Hypocritical when I was made to wait three times that amount in a previous appointment. The most disgusting and objectionable thing about your business is that you are a LIAR. As I said previously, I had my cell phone with me and did not receive a call. You also claimed (when I was there) to have left a message at my home phone number, which was a LIE. There was no message at home and no record of your number on the caller ID. Trust I will never enter your doors again and will advise all I know in town to steer clear as well. read more

Could have been good if the room, massage therapists hands and oil were not stone cold. Also they cover you in so many blankets they can't massage you properly. Just warm the place up before hand. read more

This is a lovely and peaceful spa. I find the service is friendly and the estheticians are full of helpful advice. A major plus is that it is a comfortable place - not crowded. Kelly does a great job shaping my brows and my daughter's. Sometimes my husband and I go here together for facials- it makes for a very relaxing and pampering treat. read more

Fantastic experience! I was late due to my getting lost and they were accommodating and made sure I received my full treatment without affecting the rest of the day's schedule. I had Nancy do a Swedish massage which turned into a deep tissue when she realized how messed up my back was and she was wonderful. Super professional. I felt comfortable the whole time. She helped work out all of my problem areas on my back and taught me some stretches. The girls at the front desk could learn some basic customer service training i.e. don't have a phone conversation with your bestie when there is a client in the waiting room but I could have cared less. Nancy was fantastic. I'll be scheduling more appointments with her and will be recommending her to friends and family. read more
