Vincent may be honorable BUT his hired crew is not. They do substandard work, then he has to come back and try to make it right but it's never right. I watched his workers work on my walkway. They never leveled, pitched or added any drainage stones to new foundation prior to pouring the concrete. They did NOT pour the 4 inch thick concrete depth expressed in the contract, they poured the concrete on top of debris and used the old broken up walkway pieces as a foundation for the new walkway. His crew made a giant hole on my neighbors side where the new walkway meets the steps that lead to the sidewalk and this causes rain water to run into that opening undermining the steps and creating a trench in my adjoining neighbor's lawn. Vincent saw the damage and told me "point blank" he really did not want to take up the new walkway. He tried putting band-aid type fixes in place but the hasn't fixed the problem permanently. I BEGGED him to please just take it up and lay the drainage stones and level it properly because I did not want to sue a Black business owner. However I've been ghosted. So..to small claims court I'm turning, against my will. read more

Extremely expensive the work started cracking void points behind the cement walls, floor, level, pitch of the walls and floor were a disaster. Promises to complete work were not kept. The project turned into a nightmare. read more

Is it enough to say I won my money back in small claims court? They are THAT bad! Cracks, glaze put over leaves (yes, actual leaves), so many broken appointments that I finally gave up and took it to small claims court. And I won a judgement against him. read more

I had an estimate done on March 19th. They were running late, but did notify me, so I appreciated that. Once the contractor had arrived, he proceeded to walk the property with me to discuss what I might want done specifically, relative to my inquiry...steps, sidewalk and possible driveway. Not being familiar with all the possibilities, i.e. standard measurements for steps, driveways, etc., I had a lot of questions and did request varied estimates. I felt as though the contractor was somewhat dismissive in his demeanor. However, I still would have liked the estimate(s)....which I am still waiting for despite having texted, called (and left a message, and emailed. In all my experiences with contractors, I have received estimates back within 24-48 hours. Additionally, in my experiences with contractors, when I have contacted them, they have responded within 24-48 hours. I am extremely disappointed with this contractor, hence the one star rating. read more

From estimate to the final bill, Vince and his crew were consummate professionals. I remarked that I feel like we traveled back to a time when people took real pride in their work. They cleaned as they went; they communicated when they had a weather delay; they treated our patio furniture as if it was theirs, moving it around with great care and protecting it from any of their work. Each person on the crew (and it's a large crew!) worked with a dedication to perfection that I haven't seen in a very long time. I honestly can't say enough good about this company. They bid more than fairly and they delivered more than we ever imagined when we first began the project. If anyone wants to ask me anything about their work, just reach out to me here. I'm happy to recommend them....times 10! read more

The concrete did not hold up very well. Only a few weeks after the job there was major staining and an cracks. It's a shame cause we really thought they were professional and respectful. But the product just does not meet the mark. We've reached out to see what can be done to fix it, but no answers. read more

Showed up for appointment good. However, he never provided the estimate as promised. Never returned a call, email, nor text regarding his initial visit. Actually, I am not surprised because he appeared cold, disinterested and indifferent about the job. I DO NOT recommend Dependable because they are Undependable, Unresponsive and Unreliable. What's worst is that he claims to be the owner. This poor business management and he will waste your time. read more

If I could give 10 stars I would! We had to replace concrete at the base of our driveway due to plumbing repairs. Sent the details about our job around 11am, had an immediate estimate, paid the online invoice shortly thereafter, and the work was completed by 4pm that day! The price was reasonable and the work turned out great! Definitely lived up to their name. read more

I hired Dependable Concrete to replace my front steps. I couldn't be at my house for the estimate but it was not a problem for them, he came out and took all the information he needed while I was away. The quite he gave me was literally $1000 below other companies estimates. The day of the demolition he showed up with his crew and said hello and promptly went to work on the steps. The next day was rained out but the following day he was here bright and early and started working on the cement part of the job. When the job was done they did a great job of cleaning up and making sure everything was just how I had it before. He told me that it would take 2 days and sure enough that what it took. I am extremely satisfied by the job and professional attitude if his staff. I am having them come out again for more work. Thank you Dependable Concrete. read more

Very flexible, responsive and knowledgeable. Vince is great to work with !!!

I have been working with Dependable Concrete for several years, for my snow removal and concrete needs. Vince and his team are as professional as it gets. He takes the time to understand the project and provides valuable input to get the job done at a good price and on-time. My relationship with Dependable Concrete started for a sidewalk job several years back and I have not looked back! Dependable stands by their name! read more

Hired this company to come out and do my front steps and I am so pleased. The weather has been really sunny so I figured now would be a good time to get it done. Of course the day they came to do it, it rains!!! They were so professional though. They scheduled me for later in the week (Friday) and came back on time as scheduled. Now that everything has dried up there aren't any cracks or chipping and everything looks amazing. I should also mention that Im a new homeowner who doesn't have a lot of experience with contractors. This company has set the bar really high though and I will continue to use them. read more

Still cannot get in contact with Vince! I don't know what kind of system he has but it's not working. By the looks of the other honest reviews, they pretty much hit it on the nail. I've been trying to contact him for weeks but Vince is not returning any of my messages. He actually hung up on me on two occasions because he recognized my voice. His assistant(?), Marisol, also hung up on me numerous times and ignores my call. I'm trying to get in contact with him to have my property repaired AGAIN (third time). The product he uses is so cheap and will start to peel, chip and crack within a month. Is this business closed or something? I'm thinking about taking the next steps with legal action. Update 3/29/18 Not much to update since this company still has not responded to any forms of communication. I looked on BBB and saw that this company has 5 complaints. So with this, I'm done chasing after this company. Please do your research before hiring anyone. Sometimes cheap isn't always the way, especially when you end up spending triple the cost. https://www.bbb.org/washington-dc-eastern-pa/business-reviews/concrete-contractors/dependable-concrete-work-in-philadelphia-pa-200559509/reviews-and-complaints read more

Dependable did a great job replacing my front steps. I had someone cut the old steps out but they never showed to finish the job. I was afraid someone could get hurt on my property, so began to look for someone that can form and pour the steps. While on yelp I saw this company and I only negatives I saw was not because of work, but for no show so I decided to take a chance and I'm glad I did. They were very professional and finish the job very quickly. Will use dependable in the future thank you. Update:11/24/2014 About a month ago I noticed that on the top step where it connects with the porch there is a hairline crack, so I call Vincent but he did not answer so I left a message. The work that was performed came with a warranty and I did not want to wait until it started to snow because salting voids the warranty. He never returned my call, so I called him again a week after first call and he answered and he told me that he was going to come and check it out. Now over two weeks have passed and I'm not sure if he came, but no work was done and he has not gotten back to me. I'm not hard to please but disappointed that he has not gotten back to me. Hopefully, the steps will last, or at least long enough before I have to replace them again. This review was deleted for some reason the work was done on 05/2014 read more

Called them up to have them come out and get an estimate. The guy was nice enough and on time. Said he would get back to me with a written estimate outlining what would be done. Never heard back. Called and emailed. No response. Guess I'll be using somene else. read more

I contacted this company to have them come out and get an estimate.Initially I didn't receive a response and then weeks later I randomly got a response. Vince the owner came and we discussed the work I wanted to have done. He said I would get an estimate that day...I didn't receive anything. I tried reaching out several times after that and still no response. I've given up so I guess I will be using someone else. read more

Took forever to get in touch with anyone and I had to keep calling because nobody returned my calls. We just had a great experience with this company. We needed our front walkway and patio replaced. Dependable came out very quickly for an estimate after I called them, provided the written estimate within a day and we were on their books within a week for the job. Marisol was very professional and gave us a lot of notice when they needed to push us back a day because of excessive rain in the region. I really appreciated the notice and understand their work is weather dependent. Their team was very friendly, professional and clean. They were even able to add another small job (step repair) that I asked them about after they were already here working. I would definitely use them again. read more

I'm the type of homeowner who likes to do most home improvements myself. In the event that I have a home project beyond the scope of my ability, I am very particular about choosing a contractor. I am so glad I hired Dependable Concrete to build my cement porch and stucco a room in the basement. From start to finish Vincent and his crew were 100% professional. He kept me in the loop the whole time, explained the process sequentially, and told me what to expect. He answered all my questions and made sure the finished product was exactly what I wanted. All the workers were respectful of my home. They showed up on time each day. They cleaned up after themselves. I could not be happier with the way my porch turned out! These guys work very well as a team. They are true craftsmen. I was also very impressed by their website- there are helpful and informative videos of the crew doing various concrete jobs around the city. read more

Highly professional and super clean! Couldn't be more pleased with the job Vince and his guys did on my back patio. Thanks!

Dependable Concrete and there staff surpassed my expectations. They were all professional and committed to a timely production schedule. The quality workmanship and competitive bid has earned them my 5 Star rating. I wood highly recommend them. Dependable installed paving bricks on my outdoor patio, approx. 20'x20.' The workmanship was excellent! Even after reading several reviews regarding their less than stellar customer service I decided to call them for an estimate. After making an appointment and taking time off of work on a Thursday, I received a call informing me that the estimator was stuck at a job site and would not be available until Saturday. I rescheduled the appointment and cancelled my Saturday morning to wait for them to arrive only to be greeted with an email an hour before my appointment informing me that my location was "Too far" and that they would not be able to do the job. It's refreshing to see that some people don't need work in this economy. read more

I recently contacted Dependable Concrete after viewing pictures and reading several reviews and decided to schedule an estimate for some brick and stone pointing. I also wanted to inquire on some additional concrete basement flooring work. Here is what I encountered, called on a Wednesday to schedule an appointment on Saturday for 10:00 am. When Saturday morning rolls around I stopped what I was doing to meet the contractor at my residence as agreed at 10 am. After patiently waiting 20 minutes I decided to call to check on his whereabouts since I had not received a call about anyone running late. Well when he answered (can't remember his name) I asked what happened to our 10 am appointment, response oh I thought it was for 10:30, I said no it is for 10 am but besides all that are you near by or something since you didn't call me about being late. Then I received an unfortunate response of well I had many estimates this morning and I apologize for the inconvenience. I said wow this is unbelievable that this individual did not even have the professionalism or courtesy to call to reschedule. I was so disappointed with this company I would not even waste my time calling back to have any work done on my residence. Poor customer service, can not comment on their work because they did not even show up for an appointment. I will be going with someone else.....sad because I was calling on behalf of two properties not just mine. read more

This company doesn't return calls and to be honest I think they lack knowledge of more complex concrete jobs. Vince ducked my calls for weeks after promising me an estimate two days from his visit to my house. If he didn't have the resources or was incapable of doing the job I was looking for he should have told me from the beginning. He wasted my time. Completely unprofessional. Look elsewhere for more knowledgeable concrete contractors. read more

Dependable Concrete: 7715 Crittenden Street Philadelphia, Pa. 19118 (267-536-9898) I would not recommend this company to anyone. This company owner, Vincent Douglas, is very unprofessional and does not represent what his company stands for "DEPENDABLE". I had this company do some concrete work in my basement. It was the understanding that he would be doing the job himself. He sent his staff out to do the job which was done incorrectly. I followed up with Mr. Douglas after the job was done by his company to express my disappointment with the job. Mr. Douglas did not return any phone calls until a week later. When Mr. Douglas came to assess the work of his staff he agreed that the work was done improperly. Mr. Douglas assured me that he would personally redue the job that was done incorrectly and return within two weeks. Well, Mr. Douglas did not show up nor did he return my phone calls. It was a month later in which Mr. Douglas contacted me after numerous attempts (of me trying to contact him). Once again Mr. Douglas did not return to do the job himself as promised, but sent another team of his staff to go over the existing work that was done incorrect originally. And on top of that he only corrected part of the job that was done incorrectly.....(who does that??).... Very disappointing!!. This time when new staff arrived they advised me that they were not prepared to do the job because one of the workers did not know how to do a specific skill for this type of work. The contractor advised me that he was to only repair part of the work per Mr. Douglas and not the entire work that was previously done by Mr. Douglas. This company is a no star rating from me. PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.... read more

I have been emailing him for over one and a half years....no response.. I have called many times...no response. I have a warranty that needed to be honored and that has not been the case. I am now in the process of taking this company to court in order for me to be able to fix all the problems...the worst ever.... read more

We called this company in mid june to do a quote to level out our basement. From their website they seem like they are hard working, quality, and professional but they simply aren't. The guy came out to do the quote and told us the job would cost pennies, be finished quickly and was overall an easy job to complete, would not take more than 2-3 days. He said he would have the quote emailed to us that same night. However, this guy never emailed us back and began ignoring our calls and emails. He was more interested in looking around our house and asking questions about our dog! I would NEVER let anyone from this company into my house ever again because they can't possibly be a legit company and are extremely unprofessional. Thanks to them, our basement project has been stalled as we waited for their response for a quote and are now scrambling to find a different contractor to complete the job. read more
