Our guide with Denver Mountain Guiding, Carlyn, was awesome. She was thorough with teaching us the proper techniques and was great company. We had a lot of fun and felt safe the entire time. The location we climbed in Clear Creek Canyon in Idaho Springs, CO was ideal for our level of experience. It was beautiful being right next to the creek. Carlyn also offered us some recommendations for places to eat and things to do nearby. She was super helpful. Whenever we comeback to Colorado we will definitely be rock climbing again with Denver Mountain Guiding! Also, they were very good with communication.

Will was a wonderful and friendly guide and picked great climbs for us! He was also very knowledgeable about the area and gave great climbing tips. Would definitely recommend even for intermediate or experienced climbers!

We had such an amazing time rock climbing. At first i thought it would be like a climbing gym but outdoors. I was wrong since the location they took us too was a natural rock. It was so fun. Absolutely perfect for all skill levels. Our guide Jason was also very supportive and helpful on how to scale the walls. It's very worth it to check this place out and book it.

Decided to rock climb for the first time with my best friends and we decided to meet up in Denver to do so. We are so glad that we were able to make this happen thanks to Denver Mountain Guiding. I highly recommend Jason Antin to be your guide! He was so helpful & made the trek an absolute blast.

Due to the merger with Planet Granite/El Cap Gyms, membership to one gets you access to all the amazing climbing terrain. The amenities are amazing- lots of smaller practice walls and instruction areas upstairs, along with a fitness room/yoga studio. The cardio/weight room is well-equipped and doesn't seem to get overcrowded. One of the best parts is all the classes you can attend with a membership or day pass- strength yoga, relaxation yoga, meditation, HIIT, Prehab/Rehab for injuries, intervals, personal training, etc. There are also free member clinics on things like whipper therapy, knot tying, and techniques. Paid classes are longer and are totally worth the money and cover everything from technique and movement to leading sport climbing indoors and outdoors, and self-Rescue. The staff are all super friendly and helpful. Everyone is willing to share their knowledge. And they do a great job fostering community with things like the Partner Project every Tuesday night where you can go solo and meet new climbing partners, and the Facebook trade a belay page that links up people looking for temporary or permanent clubbing partners. I highly recommend this gym if you're new to climbing or experienced. There are great routes for everyone alike on both lead and top rope. Safety is a huge priority here, and I feel much better climbing without seeing sketchy belay practices going on around me. A wonderful place for families too!

This time I went to Golden Cliffs trailhead on the south side. There were two trails (0.4 & 0.8 miles). The shorter looked more difficult indicating a steep climb to the rim. I chose the longer one. I was wrong. The 0.8 mile trail was less used and I had trouble finding the trail. I took several dead-ends that brought me to the base of the cliff for climbing routes using ropes & pitons. I eventually made the entire distance in 1.5 hrs. The trail map at the trailhead said most difficult and it was right. Once on top I took the North Table Loop trail 0.3 miles to Tilting Mesa trail. I hiked another 0.3 miles to Rim Rock trail (1.7 mile) which is a big loop going to the north rim. Weather was rolling in with heavier clouds and wind. On a clear day it would be hot. I took a video at the north rim at the 2nd highest spot on 6,551 ft. The highest is Lichen Peak at 6,552 ft. I finished the loop and headed back west. There are no restrooms/porta potties or water on the mesa top. So I descended to the west parking lot. The 0.4 mile segment is probably at 6-8% grade. I looked at the trail map. I could go back up to the top and negotiate the steeper route (0.4 miles) to the Golden Cliffs trailhead where I parked my car or take a circuitous trail (1.3 miles) along the west and south side. Very scenic and the trail was clearly visible. I startled a mule deer. So if your looking for a good hike, start on the west side and get to top for a level hike. Several trails go down the east side to access other trails including one that takes you to New Terrain Brewing.
