In the past, we have used two of the Mattress Firm locations in Boulder. One of them (as well as a…read morethird that used to be there) have been closed permanently. Only one remains and seems more targeted to the student and younger adult market than to people needing to refresh an older bedroom. The brand and grade and size, especially mattress depth, needed to remain within a certain measurement because at this point I am unwilling to buy all new bed linens to accommodate these newer mattress sizes. And we did not need a whole new "set" as we have already had to customize the support unit to a low profile, split queen box spring with the Boulder Mattress Firm location some years ago. Needed for a short resident in an older house with narrow stairwell to the second floor location. Having once decades ago, ordered a set that had to be hoisted by climbing ropes via a sliding door to balcony of second floor bedroom, we were not going to ever do that again. The hunt was hard and the one that seemed most likely from an online search was only in stock to see at the Superior, CO location. Not far so we went in. Like all Mattress Firms I have visited, the staff is very limited in number but always helpful. We did look at the one we came to and though it seemed a bit softer than ideal, we had not found anything more likely to try. So we did buy it. Victor set it up for delivery in a few days. Availability turned out to be an issue after all. This is the point in which you need all the help you can get from staff. And we did get it from Victor. Much of this company is based on automated messages with not much option to customize delivery. After 2 tries on a date, with contact with staff, a delivery date was chosen when availbility returned. But you cannot select time slot. You get an automated message the night before with the time based on their route for the day. The first one we got conflicted with a long awaited med appt so Victor manually contacted them to have it delayed a day.You can delay by the day, but not by a time slot. That night we got the automated message for the next morning, snow and all. But they did make that time and the delivery team did a great job of getting it in and leaving their snowy shoes on the porch etc. The mattress was in plastic covering. The mattress was in fact softer than we had started out looking for but in fact slept very well last night. There is the option to swap it out within a time limit as needed but we probably won't at this time, because all of the other options have been examined and rejected. Perhaps another time in life we will have an opportunity to start from scratch on bedroom design but for now, we are satisfied.

And before going, I did a lot of homework on top brands and models, and the top stores in Denver for shopping. I made a plan of attack to hit every mattress store on Colorado Boulevard in one day, with a specific short-list of mattresses that I had in mind to evaluate. I did not want to spend a lot of time on this. So, I decided to start at Urban Mattress to eliminate quickly as the least likely store to find what I was looking for, knowing really nothing about their own specific brand-- which had not made my short-list. I walked in and asked if they had any of my listed mattresses in stock. First off, I don't like being 'sold'; I want to be truthfully informed and then I make my own decision. And second, I didn't want to waste my time; I'm an in-and-out speed shopper. So, when he said they didn't have any but one in stock, I expected to turn and walk out to move on to my next target store. But he then proceeded to give me a sincere education about their brand and product. I was kind of blown away. I didn't feel sold whatsoever; I felt genuinely informed. And I tried several mattresses with zero selling pressure. I felt like I took my time, and asked a lot of questions. What amazed me though was the fact that they don't ever discount their mattresses; it seems they know what they've got, and they can compete with the big brands that seem to have to always run a sale. But what they do offer is free accessories on holiday sales, which for me is equivalent enough. Long story short: I chose a mattress-- which was LESS than my Tempur Pedic from 15 years ago-- and I chose my free accessories, I completed the financing, and arranged the delivery, all by right at the 1-hour mark from the time of me walking in. I was astonished. They disabused me of every notion I had about the "top brands" and had me confidently in a new mattress in no time flat, and generous financing, and generous accessory package, and saved me 4 more planned stops along Colorado Blvd that day. And they are the nicest salesmen, both on the purchase day and when I went back to pick up my accessories. And since delivery over a month ago, I haven't slept this good in A DECADE. My chronic joint pains are GONE. My mental clarity is through the roof. My energy has returned. I could not be more pleased with a mattress purchase, or confident in the knowledge that their warranty is 10-year FULL REPLACEMENT, not prorated like the "other guys." Run, don't walk, to your nearest Urban Mattress store. I mean it. No regrets. I know what I'll be sleeping on for the rest of my life: an Urban Mattress.

Refund authorized on 10-03-26. It is now 10-13-26 still no refund. They are quick to take your money and then treat you like you are the problem after they deliver a broken sofa. Never buying anything from AFW again and warning everyone i know what to expect when you buy from them.

Christi (I think head manager) was so lovely, patient, and helpful. I think I worked with one of the asst managers another day (maybe Steve?) and he was also excellent. I appreciate being able to make all purchases and arrangements while propped up in one of their beds. The delivery teams were also top-notch and I was very impressed and appreciative of their professionalism. I bought my Tempur-Pedic mattress from their outlet stock and the delivery guys noted there were a couple areas of smudging on the fabric (very small and looks like just some dust/dirt/grease from being moved/stored, it all wiped off fine + I put mattress covers on it immediately) and wanted to make sure I saw it before they took it upstairs, they offered to call the outlet to see if there was one that had no marks or to take it back but it wasn't a problem for me, at all. I thought it was very nice that they were the ones inspecting and looking out for me. Unless there is a steal of a deal on a special mattress somewhere else, I plan on making any future purchases with them.
