There were no reviews online for us to see before hiring this company to do our basement floors, so I figured I would post a detailed review so people know what they are possibly getting into with this company. To begin with, the process before the work was actually done was extremely unprofessional and unorganized. The owner, Katie, came to our house twice to discuss options and ended up changing the price on us several times before actually starting the work. Make sure you nail down a price beforehand and expect it to steadily go up approaching your install date. Next, on to the work done and quality of the install. This company does not have their own equipment. Supposedly, the grinding machine they normally rented was broken so they had to rent a larger one and charge us an additional $690 to do so. The rental company delivered the machine, we got it downstairs, and they got to work. Oh, and I also had to do some wiring for them because the machine plugs into 240 volt only. The grinding went well at first, and then it seemed like they either ran out of rental time or just stopped caring near the end. They left bits of black mastic on the floor in one room and did not fully grind the top layer off of the last two rooms so the finish has a very spotty look. Also, they left very deep circular 10" gouges in the floor in places from the grinder. Not smooth at all. They were also not careful with the machine. They ran into the walls hard enough to dent and crack the drywall in a couple of places. Once the grind was "complete", they were going to start putting down the color after just doing a quick sweep of the area. There was dust EVERYWHERE. I ended up having to ask them to leave so the area could be properly cleaned and my spouse and I spent the next 3 hours with a leaf blower, vacuum, and broom thoroughly cleaning the area. They then started to put down the color. The dye is acteone based which is extrememly flammable. They failed to turn off our water heater so caused a small explosion and subsequent fire in our utility room. Thankfully, the acetone burned quickly so there was no major damage and they went back to work after I turned the water heater off. Katie told us that we would be able to walk on the floors within a couple hours and return to service in 24 hours maximum. This was completely incorrect. We were unable to walk on it without leaving footprints for a full 24 hours, and could not start moving anything back in for a full 48 hours. Overall, the color and polyaspartic finish turned out decent, but in hindsight we feel that we could have rented a grinder ourselves and done at least as good or better of a job ourselves. We will not be recommending this company to anyone. This is a relatively new company, so hopefully their customer service and quality of work will improve with time and experience. Oh, and on a final note, during the entire process Katie's focus seemed to be on getting paid as quickly as possible and never on customer service/satisfaction. I have pictures of the finished product and all of the above mentioned issues if anyone is interested in seeing them.
Shortly after posting this review, we received an extremely rude and immature voicemail from the owner. We have now lowered the review from 2 stars to one. Extremely poor customer service and business acumen. I would now definitely suggest taking your business elsewhere. read more
