I had a very frustrating experience with Brad and would not recommend working with him…read more Brad installed a dedicated electrical circuit for my kiln. As soon as I started using the kiln, the breaker connection overheated and burned out. When Brad came back, the breaker was moved to a different location in the panel and the connections were tightened to the proper torque specification. Since then, I have completed dozens of firings without a single recurrence of the problem. The problem is that the original heat-damaged section of the panel was never actually repaired. It was simply left there and bypassed by moving the breaker. I recently contacted Brad again and asked him to come back and properly address the burned section that was left behind. Once again, rather than taking responsibility, he told me the original failure was my fault and claimed that he had already fixed the damage. That simply isn't accurate. The burned section is still there, and I now have to work with another electrician to determine what needs to be replaced and have it properly repaired. This wasn't the only issue with the job, either. During the original installation, they changed the planned trench route at the last minute and then broke through my sewer line while excavating. I was blamed for not telling them the sewer line was there, despite their decision to change the location and angle of the trench. The resulting sewer repair was also less than optimal. Mistakes happen, especially with construction and electrical work. My biggest issue isn't that something went wrong. It's the response afterward. When a problem with your work becomes apparent, I expect a professional contractor to investigate it, correct it, and take responsibility when appropriate, not repeatedly blame the customer. After seeing the kiln operate successfully through dozens of firings once the breaker was relocated and properly torqued, while the original burned section remains in my panel, I'm comfortable moving on to another electrician to finish addressing the problem. Based on my experience, I'd avoid working with someone who is unwilling to take responsibility for sloppy work when something goes wrong.

This led me to have a subpanel built from my main electrical system to run my large portable generator, a Generac 8500. My first step was to seek four bids/quotes from reputable electrical companies in Denver Metro. In the process, I had the opportunity to speak to each of the four companies. The company that stood above the rest to me from the start was Altitude Electric. In my very first conversation with Jody at Altitude Electric, I learned so much about this process. Jody was very nice, knowledgeable, and provided me with the information I needed to make a good decision. Although my conversations and/or meetings with each of the other companies were fine. Jody at Altitude Electric had made a strong impression on me. After receiving all four bids, I was then pleasantly surprised to find Altitude Electric to be one of more competitive bids from a total cost standpoint. I scheduled for Altitude Electric to do the work. Prior to the day of installation, I received both emails and text messages of my upcoming appointment. Karsten and Dan with Altitude Electric came and worked on my subpanel from 11 am to 4 pm non-stop. Karsten is a perfectionist at his trade, and he and Dan paid attention to every detail to complete their job. I was so impressed with how they checked and double-checked to make sure everything was done right. After the installation of the subpanel was completed, Karsten took the time to explain to me how the circuits were transferred from my main panel to the subpanel. Karsten took time to label the circuits in my subpanel, and Dan moved my new generator to where it could be operated. Once this was completed, Jody called me to schedule Bear and James to come back out and run the power outage simulation with me. Initially, I had a minor issue with starting my brand new generator, but thankfully, Bear is a Generac expert technician. Bear and James got my generator running as it should and again walked me through the process of what to do when power goes out. The service teams at Altitude Electric took the time to help me understand how to best maintain and operate my newly installed system and gave me the confidence that my system will work when I need it. I believe they cared about me as a customer, and I trust them. I am so grateful to the high level of professionalism and expertise by their quality workmanship and attention to detail. The best part is I know that they will stand behind their work and are available if I need them in the future. This home project was an expensive investment considering the cost of the generator installing an electrical subpanel, but for the value in service that I received from Altitude Electric, I could not be happier. The safety, security, and convenience for my family is priceless. Thank you, Jody, and the team at Altitude Electric!
