Our experience with Bruce at Dog Behaviors Denver has been absolutely phenomenal. We have a…read moreShepherd/Cattle Dog mix (high energy, high intelligence), and before meeting Bruce, we had tried multiple trainers, most of whom were only okay. Initially, we knew some basic commands, but the biggest struggle we could not overcome was our dog's obedience or reactivity concerns. Before Bruce, our dog did not do well with other dogs and people on walks, and guests couldn't come to our home due to fear of being accidentally hurt by him. Our lowest point was when our boy bit a lady at a local Farmer's Market, where we were attempting to do some training with him, and he became startled. We utilized as much of the training we had worked on with other trainers, but it wasn't enough. That's when we called Bruce. Here's our experience: at the initial meeting, we were very impressed with Bruce's resume and we could tell by his skill-set that he would be able to turn our boy around. Bruce had over 15 years experience working with dogs who were relinquished due to aggression or behaviors at a local humane society, turning them into confident, obedient and adoptable dogs. Not to mention, he also trained in Germany for 3+ years overseas with a military-style training for police dogs. Bruce uses a combination of high-drive reinforcement and timely corrections One thing to keep in mind though, you get out what you put in. If you aren't willing to do the work, Bruce might not be the right guy for you. We were pretty motivated and found a lot of success with Bruce. Within the first few sessions, we saw noticeable changes in our dog's behavior; he was gaining confidence through the consistency and training Bruce taught us about. Bruce's ability to fine-tune all the mixed signals we were giving AND giving us detailed explanations of why they were important to correct, completely changed everything for us. He even explains the science behind some of the techniques, which we appreciated. Our closest family and friends knew all the struggles we had experienced with our boy before Bruce. They have been so impressed with how much progress our dog has made. We would absolutely recommend Bruce to anyone needing dog training. You will be able to tell the passion and love for what he does the first time you meet him!

Bruce's guidance and tools gave us the confidence to support our pups and develop their improved behavior. He also helped us understand the underlying rationale on the tools we learned. Both of our guys have been so much better, well behaved and more at ease. We were even able to take our Grey to a fun dog run and he was one of the most well mannered dogs! We honestly can't believe the dramatic change in our dogs. Thank you Bruce!

I looked up dog walking services yesterday on Yelp and was impressed by Abi's website. Very professional. I called and she was able to come meet Chewy right away. I am out of town today and tomorrow and she is checking in on 3x a day while I am gone. She sends me updates and text messages photos of him while on walks. My place of work through me under the bus with this traveling thing, but Colorado Peak Puppy helped me take care of my dog. Chewy will be seeing Abi regularly as well because there are times I play in a softball league after work. I no longer have to leave Chewy alone for 14 hours. Abi can take care of him in the afternoon and he'll get his exercise for the day. I recommend this to anyone. In addition, most recently, I recommended Colorado Peak Puppy to a friend and they have had such a great experience with Abi. Abi is dependable and that is sometimes hard to find in small businesses these days. My friend backs up everything I just said and is impressed with her dog's improved behavior since Abi has been walking her. My friend states that Abi must be doing a little training while on the walks. I am not saying this would be true for all dogs, but I truly believe Abi has dogs' best interest at heart.

I had called him in the morning to get a quote - his professionalism and empathetic energy immediately made me feel at ease. We ended up needing his help late that night. The entire experience was very calm, as he walked us through the entire process. It was peaceful and reassuring in a time that could have easily been chaotic and traumatizing. The vets I called lacked the sympathy and understanding. It seemed to be more of a business deal instead of the important last day for me and my pup. When I discovered CK9 veterinary, I called and talked to Dr. Clint, he was VERY sympathetic and calming. Just speaking with him gave me the peace I needed to ensure my dog was going to go in peace. On the day I decided to put my dog down, I called Dr. Clint and had a hesitation and ended my call before he answered. I received an immediate call back with reassurance and sympathy. There was no rush with Dr. Clint. Dr. Clint took the time to ensure I understood the process. He allowed me to walk out at anytime if needed. He provided so much comfort on what was the hardest day I've had to go through. Dr. Clint personally brought me back my paw print in between his busy day. Couldn't recommend Dr. Clint and his services enough. If you are on the fence about at home final care, I promise you - Dr. Clint is your guy. He cares more about you and your pup than you could imagine.

His behavior and fear far exceeded anything I could manage on my own, as nothing I did worked to help the Pup out. A friend of mine recommended Jenny. Jenny was amazing and God sent!!!! She supported me and gave me a lot of information on what to do to get our new found puppy to feel safe and come out of his shell. Through her walking me through what to do, contacting me to see how its going and her positive words the whole time, she was the catalyst for this puppy's recovery. Our new puppy went from being scared of us, Peeing himself when we were near and hiding in corners, to comming when I call, snuggling with me and playing all day long with his toys and our other dogs. He went from being the most sad soul I have ever met and transformed into a goofy and silly sweet boy. I accredit this to Jenny's information and guidance. He was a very extreme situation and it took a different approach and a level of understanding to get him to the place he is in now. Jenny comes highly recommended by myself and I would use her for any of my dogs or for any future needs because she is absolutely amazing!!! She is compassionate, caring, patient and you can you can tell she loves dogs with every fiber of her being!!!

We enrolled our 5-month old goldendoodle puppy Archie in her Manners 101 course and she really took the time to get to know all the dogs, sharing so many useful training tips along the way. She also offers private in-home lessons at a very reasonable rate and we got so much value out of having her over to observe Archie in his home environment. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the quality and value of her lessons and looking forward to registering for Manners 210 soon.

We've had a lot of dog trainers over the years in different cities and for different dogs. Gavin is…read morethe most memorable and best one that we've ever had in Denver, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. His training methods have that perfect balance between positive reinforcement and setting boundaries for your dog. We had Gavin come and train our 8-month old schnauzer at our place every other week or so for a couple months (due to weather). The training methods and "homework" he gives are reasonable, effective, and realistic for having a well-behaved dog at home that is also your pet. If you're familiar with schnauzers, you may know that they can be an extremely stubborn breed. Many people think that they're notoriously hard to train, but Gavin was more than up for the challenge, and we had results from our first session. Our schnauzer went from a world-class leash puller and leash biter to the being the best dog at Garden of the Gods in just over a month. Walking our pup went from being something stressful and mildly insane to something we were proud to do. One of the best things about Gavin is that he's so knowledgeable that he was flexible with what we needed as a family. We have 3 dogs, so there were day-to-day things that we wanted to work on outside of training our schnauzer on the basics of being a good dog. From how to walk the dogs together, how to manage their space, and how to create a sane environment with 3 dogs, Gavin has so many effective, helpful tips that are easy to implement and truly make a difference. We enjoyed every session with Gavin, and our pup Grumpy is all the better for it. We look forward to continuing to use the methods he taught us with him and future dogs. If you're looking for a dog trainer who really knows his stuff and provides actual, reasonable training tools that will work within your life, Gavin is your guy.
