She learned to wait her turn, the value of her peers, manners, and was potty trained. At the age of 3 she transitioned into the primary classroom. While the expectation was high, my child did not transition well. Rather than meet the child where they are and modify the program, they tried to modify my child. As a result she retaliated to the point that she was no longer "allowed" to participate with her peers for meals, or even playground time. It wasn't until we left CMS and I had her evaluated by educators far more experienced and qualified than the staff at CMS that I was reassured that she was just behaving poorly due to being in a stressful environment. My word of caution to other parents out there is that CMS is not a school of inclusion but rather exclusion. Maria Montessori would have never allowed for such a hostile "learning environment" or exclusive parameters from her "guide." I would definitely seek out other alternatives before enrolling at this school simply because of this experience.

My child started at age 4 at Frisco Trails montessori in 2023 (then called Frisco Trails…read moremontessori, then briefly changed to LIttle Leaders, now renamed to Visionary Montessori Academy at Teel), and is to start Kindergarten this year in Frisco ISD. We moved to Frisco from NY. We went through 2 daycares in NY before we started here. We checked out several montessoris before we signed up for Frisco Trails. There are fancier, more expensive options in Frisco. I wanted my daughter to be in a comfortable, safe environment that's also down-to-earth and not a five-star hotel. We were very happy overall with the montessori. There was some teacher turnover, but not a lot. They dont have too many more closed days than the federal holidays. Teachers paid individual attention to the kids. They have parent-teacher meetings few times a year to update parents on the child's strengths and areas of improvement. There would be time for study but also play, frequent fun activities. My kids bring home amazing crafts. Every week the toddles have a new learning theme, like continents, plants, oceans. They email us every weekend about a summary of the last week, and teaching lined up for the next week. My daughter has learned to read and write fairly well before she goes to KG. They don't have a fancy app to message parents, but in my past experience, updating apps takes up teachers' time and concentration away from their main focus on children. Emails have worked just fine. The teachers and administration are easy-going and generally accommodating. I put my younger kid here as well. She had frequent viral infections her 6 months or so, after that its been pretty smooth. This past winter was not bad at all.

Her teachers accept her for who she is and they embrace it. Our youngest started in the infant room and I never once had to worry about a single thing. The best, top notch teachers I have ever met. I also respect and appreciate that they don't sugar coat things, if my child was having behaviors the teachers are very professional and take the time to talk with me about it and how we can work together as a team to improve the behaviors. As in any school or establishment individual experience is going to be different, depending upon the teacher in classroom in with your child is placed. I picked my child up today only to hear her screaming at him through the door. I arrived early to pick him up. As I approached the classroom door I heard her yelling at him to go to sleep calling him a baby and telling him he needs to go to the baby room since he won't sleep. My son was crying telling her he didn't want to go to the baby room saying "I'm a big boy". This was not a stern or firm teacher voice, this was screaming and berating my son in front of his classmates during their nap time. My son should not have had to go through that, the other children in the class should not have had to hear that. As a former teacher myself this is NO WAY in which to speak to a child, especially for not napping. This "teacher" does not deserve the title and should not be working with children. Once she came to the door, her tone completely changed, she became extremely soft spoken and sweet. The hypocrisy was ridiculous. I mentioned the experience to the front staff as the director of the school was not there. They apologized.

If you read the one-star reviews, you'll notice a common theme: poor treatment of children. As…read moreparents, we diligently research daycares and carefully place our children at a childcare facility where we think that they will be loved and cared for. As such, I decided to write about my child's experience because I would never want any parent to experience the pain and frustration that my husband and I experienced. Our child attended Pinnacle Montessori of Frisco from three months old until our child was 16 months. The month before we withdrew our child, we expressed our concerns to the director regarding whether they were communicating our child's medical information to every person who cared for our child, as well as our frustration regarding the fact that, for two days in a row, two different jackets were unable to be located when we picked up our child. After this complaint, our child started receiving negative behavior comments frequently. To put things into context, our child received their first negative report ever on the same day that we notified the teacher of the missing jacket (i.e., the day before our complaint). Thereafter, our child typically received several negative reports each WEEK. Our child was 15 months old at the time. We met with our child's primary teacher to discuss our concerns regarding the frequency and the nature of the negative reports. We were told that the reports weren't meant to suggest that our child was doing something bad, they were more so to let parents know how their child's day went. A few days after this meeting, the director stopped me on my way out the door after dropping my child off and informed me that if my 15-month-old child continued to receive negative reports for the next three months, then maybe my child is communicating that Montessori is not for them. I took this as a thinly-veiled threat to kick my 15-month-old child out based on frequent "negative" reports that coincidentally started occurring after my complaint. Of course, this direct contradiction regarding the intention behind the reports resulted in us having a meeting with the director and the teacher. At the meeting, the director informed my husband and me that we were "too sensitive" and that she had no reason to have a problem with our child because we pay on time each month, and the teachers have never had a problem with us. This was jarring to us because no childcare facility should differ the level of care and treatment that they provide to a child based upon the child's parents' ability to pay on time. After this meeting, things went from bad to worse. Our child came home with a diaper rash that was so severe that it required a medical prescription and for our child to stay home an entire week. We sent our child to this facility for only three more days after the diaper rash healed. On the third day, our child was sent home without a shirt on. When we asked the front desk why our child's shirt was not on our child's body, they informed us that our child spilled water on the shirt, and they didn't have a backup shirt. They did not even bother to notify us to let us know our child needed a shirt. Had they cared enough for our child to notify us, we could have immediately resolved the issue that day. Needless to say, that was our child's last day. I hope any parent of a prospective attendee finds my review helpful. For any parent whose child still attends this facility, you may want to pay close attention to how your child is being treated, especially if (i) you don't pay on time or (ii) you have ever complained to the staff/director.

Brightwheel is used, which is a great resource for teachers and parents to communicate, and see what goes on in their child's class daily. Class sizes are small and every teacher meets the needs of their students. So many cute crafts and play come home. Teachers make sure to address social emotional for their assigned age group. The child's emotional well-being comes first. Staff members know students and parents. It is a very warm and welcoming environment!! They address every need or worry you have. It's been brought to my attention from many of the students that are currently attending in school…read moreclasses that there is a black flag with a blue stripe right as you enter the school. If the school officer likes it so much it should be put in his office. This flag is offensive to many and has no place in the school halls. Many students are unhappy with it being put in the halls, not cool at all and very inappropriate with what's going on right now.
