I interviewed lots of child care centers prior to settling with KALE. The director I met a month before was not the same when my kids started. When they got a new teacher for my kid's class, they did not inform the parents. Luckily, I paid additional ($40/month) for the cameras so I questioned my kiddo about the new teacher. Other parents had no idea for at least a month. There were 22 kids crammed into a room with one teacher and a floating teacher sometimes. As for the cameras, they did not charge monthly. They deducted the total from the refundable deposit. With the constant changes, organization is not a priority. I asked the director two weeks prior to Christmas what the plan was and she said she is just thinking about the next day. Yikes! One of my kiddos was not acclimating well to the new environment and she couldn't get any attention from the teacher since the teacher was wrangling almost 20 kids. My kid was usually alone and I didn't see the teacher trying to engage or encourage her to join the rest of the class. I pick up my little one at the same time every day right before nap time. Sometimes, they would have the kids wait by the door for over 30 minutes in the dark. Speaking of doors, they do not have conventional closed doors. All doors are short so you can hear everything going on in other classes. Onto the neutral/plus side, the school had some potential. The meals were on par with other places, the curriculum was admirably challenging, and they tried to set up events on Sundays but they were usually low turnouts. I wish the school all the best but I can't recommend it to my fellow parent friends and their kids.

So caring, kind and invested in our daughter and her well being. I can't say enough about the two guides in her classroom as well and how nurturing they are and dedicated to her development. I couldn't trust them more! We get regular updates via the story park app on her progress and they are quick to respond if I ever reach out with a question. We are so impressed with her development over the past 3 months. Her vocabulary has skyrocketed as well as her independence at home. The school has so many events parents can participate in and really feel a part of the Montessori journey alongside the student. We immediately felt welcomed and a part of this amazing Starwood Community!

The faculty is communicative and our son feels so loved by not just his peers and teacher, but everyone there. The school events are always enjoyable and educational. The campus is beautiful and adheres to Montessori above and beyond the 4 other Montessori schools in the area I toured, interviewed, and considered. We trust Starwood wholeheartedly with our son's safety, well-being and education because after 4 years, we absolutely know we can.

After visiting several schools nearby, we still didn't feel completely confident--until we met Ms. Anjali. From the moment we spoke with her, we were 200% sure this was the right place for our kids. Ms. Syeda is a wonderful teacher--our 2-year-old daughter felt comfortable with her from day one. Ms. Shabana is equally amazing and brings a wealth of experience to the classroom. We are constantly amazed by the new things our children are learning every day!

I have to give a special shout-out to Ms. Menon, one of the finest educators I've had the privilege to know. She has high expectations for students, supports them tirelessly through the learning process, and helps every single one achieve wonderful things. We can't thank her enough. And in case you're worried about kids making the transition to traditional schooling once they leave Montessori, don't. Our little one transitioned to public kindergarten seamlessly and it looks like our younger one will too.

We moved to Frisco from NY. We went through 2 daycares in NY before we started here. We checked out several montessoris before we signed up for Frisco Trails. There are fancier, more expensive options in Frisco. I wanted my daughter to be in a comfortable, safe environment that's also down-to-earth and not a five-star hotel. We were very happy overall with the montessori. There was some teacher turnover, but not a lot. They dont have too many more closed days than the federal holidays. Teachers paid individual attention to the kids. They have parent-teacher meetings few times a year to update parents on the child's strengths and areas of improvement. There would be time for study but also play, frequent fun activities. My kids bring home amazing crafts. Every week the toddles have a new learning theme, like continents, plants, oceans. They email us every weekend about a summary of the last week, and teaching lined up for the next week. My daughter has learned to read and write fairly well before she goes to KG. They don't have a fancy app to message parents, but in my past experience, updating apps takes up teachers' time and concentration away from their main focus on children. Emails have worked just fine. The teachers and administration are easy-going and generally accommodating. I put my younger kid here as well. She had frequent viral infections her 6 months or so, after that its been pretty smooth. This past winter was not bad at all.

Scheduling a tour was simple and convenient. These are the pros and cons based on my tour of the facility for toddlers 2-3. Pros: - Structured curriculum that incorporates STEAM - Tuition includes music and Spanish class - Play ground area has lots of space for running and playing Cons: - Older facility - Rooms are smaller and the smell of dirty bathroom permeates the room - When I inquired if the bathrooms and toilets were cleaned routinely, the director repeatedly said the floors are mopped and the sinks are wiped down multiple times a day, but never addressed whether the toilets were cleaned or not, which was apparent they were NOT as there were black stains (mildew/mold) all over the toilet bowl. - The biggest turn off for me was when I witnessed the potty routine. The teacher had 4-5 toddlers in the bathroom together taking turns using the toilet - absolutely no privacy which goes against everything I teach my daughter regarding other people seeing/touching her private areas. The other kids who were waiting would play in the bathroom and sit on the bathroom floors - so unsanitary in my opinion. I love the pros this facility has to offer, but I can't get over the cons. Sadly the search will continue...

Positives: I never felt like my daughter was in danger or unsafe in any way. The location (especially if you live in the Tribute). Negatives: Whatever is promised on your tour of the school, forget it. Things said are to get you to commit, but it will not be followed through on. What was communicated to us over the app (eating, nap time etc) is more than often wrong - difficult to know how the day actually went until you get there for pickup since the app is inaccurate. And continuing education at a school when you can't trust what they're telling you about your child is even more difficult. For most of the administration and teachers, this is just a job and will be treated as such. There will be no effort to go above and beyond to make your child feel comfortable or taken care of. We had to make numerous calls and requests to advocate for our daughter when she was having a rough time with the many teacher transitions. With that being said, a BIG shout out to the early preschool teachers, Ms. Tomeshia and Mrs. Ailiya. Both were absolutely incredible and saved our experience with this school. Hoping Primrose recognizes their gifts!
