**Long, But Honest Review**…read more Interviewing daycares is one of the most overwhelming processes, regardless of your child's age. Lovedale Montessori Academy will quickly check off all the boxes for your needs/qualifications when searching for the right childcare for your son/daughter. When our son was just 2 months old, and having spent one month in the NICU, the thought of leaving him with strangers was defeating. A friend recommended Lovedale Montessori, so we scheduled a meeting with the Director, Mrs. Heena. Upon entering the building, the layers of security - multiple doors, fingerprint access, locks, cameras - were immediately reassuring. The facility looked modern and impeccably clean. Mrs. Heena, with a huge smile, addressed all our concerns during our 2-hour conversation, providing ample proof as we toured the classes. Lovedale uses an app for parent communication, offering updates on diaper changes, meals, naps, and my favorite - photos! What I can't stress enough is the genuine love the teachers have for the children. Our sons teachers have become an extension of our family. This love extends to every staff member, who knows each child by name and takes the time to show care. Lovedale is more than a Montessori Academy; it's a safe haven for our children. Parents can rest assured that their child is cared for according to their own standards. Daily scheduled activities are outlined in a detailed monthly calendar, providing peace of mind for parents of children of all ages.

You can tell the teachers truly care and have their best interest. They are all so genuine and kind. We had a nanny before Lovedale and the transition to Montessori was daunting but Lovedale made it seamless and we have no regrets choosing them. Also, the facility is clean and decorated so cute. We feel so lucky to have found Lovedale!!

Things went from good to worse depending on the behavior of the girl that would bully her and bully other students. The last time I talked about this to the school principal, she said that we needed to have "grace" for the girl that was a bully. After three years of this going on, that was the expectation. So my daughter could be bullied but the expectation for her was to have "grace" give the bully the "opportunity to learn from it". This knowing that other parents had complained about the same kid for several times. Now, she's at a school that holds the students accountable and has an actual policy against bullying and does not tolerate it.

The teachers she had (Mrs. Sherwood and Mrs. Khalid) were very kind, communicative, and involved. We trusted them totally and completely, and felt safe sending our daughter to school every day despite her having multiple severe allergies. Unfortunately, once we transitioned to the elementary level, that level of communication and care declined. We were assured that her next guides would be updated with all the info about her allergies as well as where she was academically. She was assigned to the Redbud classroom, and the guides had no clue of her history. Through the next 3 years we experienced a pattern of forgetfulness, poor communication, and resistance to collaboration. When my daughter entered first grade she was advancing ahead in some areas, and by third grade she was behind, even in subjects she loved and was obsessed with. Myself and a few other parents felt as if our children were not getting individualized care (the whole point of Montessori), and there was a common theme of kids needing help and not receiving it. There were also continuous patterns of the guides not knowing what's going on with our children socially. Which compared to primary care, we didn't even have to ask questions. They knew our children as if they were their own. On top of this, the school identifies as a nut-free school, but it is not enforced once you get to elementary. We had multiple Incidences where my daughter was exposed to life threatening allergens in her own classroom, and the guides seemingly forgot she was allergic. There was no structured process for monitoring food brought in for class celebrations or snacks, and there was zero empathy or acknowledgement in their errors. As a parent of a child with serious allergies, this was incredibly alarming. We enrolled my daughter before they broke ground for the new building. We had a fantastic experience and had excellent communication with all the staff. My opinion is the school has grown too quickly without putting the right systems and oversight in place to support that growth. There appears to be a serious gap in consistency, accountability, and responsiveness... especially in the elementary program. Ultimately, there wasn't much effort in addressing what happened, so we had to make the heartbreaking decision to withdraw our daughter mid-year because we could no longer trust that her safety and emotional well-being would be protected. I share this review not out of anger, but from a deep sense of responsibility to other families, especially those with children who have health concerns. Our hope is that by sharing our experience, the school will reflect and take steps toward improving its standards of care, communication, and follow-through.

My daughter loves school every day I would give a special recommendation for their teacher Miss Aya. When my toddler started school, I was very apprehensive on whether she would be okay with a new face... but from day one, she fell in love with the teacher. Miss Aya is extremely giving, and nurturing.... Every time I go to her class, I see all the children are so peaceful, I have never heard any of the children cry... and they learnt so much. My daughter tells me that she misses her teacher over weekends, and that makes me feel so grateful. I have seen a big difference in her personality... She's happier and more confident due to the teacher she has who focuses on overall growth of the personality for the children. if i could rate 0 i would I brought my son in for a "trial"…read moreday. I specifically asked to be notified if my son was having a hard time and wasn't. I text both directors within one hour of dropping him off asking how he was doing and received NO response. After a while i was set up on the parent app and sent a picture of my son "hugging" another kid with the caption "making friends". First red flag! My son will not just hug anyone infact he wouldn't know what to do if you asked him to do that so i was positive this was staged! According to the schedule, my son should have been in circle time, so I asked for a picture of him and circle time in which I received a picture of him from behind. Knowing my son I could tell from his past year, he wasn't happy even though I couldn't see his face so I asked to see a picture of his face and no one ever responded, this caused me to go to the school and pick him up. When I arrived, there was a lady that I had never met at the front desk. The doors were not locked. I just walked right in and as I'm walking past her, I told her I was going to check on my son and she said OK, there was no check for ID no lock on the door nothing! Upon arriving to my sons class I'm looking through the two way mirror for my son I couldn't find him. This was because he was at the bottom of the door crying. I open the door picked up my son and his eyes were almost swollen. Shut from crying. I asked the teacher how long he had been crying. She said for 30 minutes I asked why she didn't call me she said because she thought he would stop! This is crazy because I asked for them to call me if he was having a hard time and clearly they did not. Another issue is all of the teachers are foreign, and have heavy accents, so for a toddler to be placed in an unfamiliar environment with teachers who do not speak clear English isn't very comforting. This was my first time meeting the teachers because when I went for a tour, it was at 5 PM when they were getting ready to close so the teachers had left. So I proceed to pick up my son, take all of his belongings and walk out the door when I arrived home 20 minutes later, one of the directors which I text at 9:45 responded to my inquiry of how my son was doing by saying."HE IS DOING VERY GOOD MOMMY HE IS EATING LUNCH"! I then responded"He can't be eating lunch because I PICKED HIM UP 20 MINUTES AGO" she then responds with "you don't want him to eat lunch"? I responded with "WOW I PICKED HIM UP YOUR LYING" of course i got no response. BEWARE!!!! Directors are Kara and Mona! They present well but they're LIARS! Always trust your motherly instincts!

It was a lengthy process in choosing her first school and we are very pleased to have chosen Primrose. The school and the staff have been playing a significant role in the development and growth of our daughter. Over time since she joined, Isha loved going to school. Apart from the outstanding curriculum, numerous other activities like Christmas celebrations, Easter Egg Hunt, the annual graduation ceremony, etc., have piqued Isha's interest and made her appreciate the time she is spending in school. It is to be noted that the staff put in a lot of time, effort and energy into the execution of the aforementioned events that they end up being really grand, rich and thoroughly memorable experiences for students and parents alike. The school has also ensured that they strictly meet the dietary requirements of each child. The staff also do a commendable job in communicating with us about the child's daily activities, upcoming events, payment reminders and accommodating many other requests we've made. It has been a breeze communicating with Ms. Corrine, especially, and she has always been prompt, quick and always helpful in her response. Our special mention goes to Ms. Alissa. Ever since Ms. Alissa became the class teacher for Pre-K-2, Isha wasn't just happy but was excited to go to school. We, as parents, could clearly see that Ms. Alissa genuinely cared about the kids in the class, made them all feel inclusive, provided individual care to each one of them and actually wanted them to be happy & comfortable. The very manner she greets the kids in the morning not only brightens their days but ours as well. As we drop off our daughter and drive away in the morning, we feel relieved and at peace knowing that Ms. Alissa is there to take care of our daughter. We also want to thank Ms. Margie (who in Isha's words is a very sweet teacher), Ms. Shilpi, Mr. Alan (whose high-fives instantly cheer up Isha in the morning), Ms. Suzanne and Ms. Heather.
