Dentologie River North cancelled my regular cleaning appointment 6 months ago without speaking to me. I made this appointment 6 months prior and created my work schedule around it to accommodate it.
I gave them the benefit of the doubt and rescheduled my cleaning. This appointment I met a new dentist, because it's a new dentist/hygienist every time you go - no consistency, no one truly knows you there. This dentist told me for the first time in years that I need Invisalign and that if I don't get Invisalign, I'd have crowns on every single one of my teeth years from now. Scary, right? So I schedule an appointment for an Invisalign consult.
At this consult, it was the same dentist for once, and when he began the consult, he asked me why I wanted Invisalign. He didn't remember anything he told me just a few weeks prior about having crowns on all my teeth. He began showing me AI rendered images of what my teeth could look like - all purely cosmetic, no mention of crowns, and oh yeah! They're running a special on Invisalign for that month only.
So it all felt hokey and sales-y to me. Therefore, I went to a different dentist completely for a second opinion. This dentist told me that invisalign wouldn't be medically necessary for me, but If i had gone with Dentologie, since they don't do interproximal reduction there (or IPR), Invisalign would have made my teeth more crowded than they already are and i would have long lasting issues in the long run. So I dodged a bullet there.
After a few bad experiences at Dentologie, there never being any consistency with who you saw (hygienist or dentist), my appointment being cancelled without my permission just a few days before I was supposed to come in, and now the dentist trying to sell me Invisalign that would have done more harm than good, I decided to completely change my dentist.
I forgot to cancel my next cleaning appointment with Dentologie, but guess what! They cancelled it for me. Again. Without my permission. Just a few days prior to my appointment. TO THIS DAY I have received ZERO communication about this cancelled appointment, that I once again scheduled my entire work and life around. SO frustrating. I have emailed, left messages, and even talked to someone at the desk directly that if they could please call or email me back to talk about my concerns it would be appreciated. Still, it's been weeks, and no such luck. Which is why I'm writing this review.
I also had to basically chase down dentolgie for my x-rays and records to send to my new dentist, and when I finally got a hold of someone, they typed the wrong email so now some random person has my x-rays out there in the world. Fantastic!
I have also learned (from my new dentist) that dentologie uses AI to read their x-rays, which leads to a lot of false positives (and sometimes false negatives). So, all of those reviews you read about unnecessary procedures, root canals, cavities, etc? They're real. And they were unnecessary.
Dentolgoie, you NEED to get better at communicating with your parients and fix whatever it is in the system that is causing my appointments to be cancelled without permission. Because again, it's been 6 months since the last time my appointment was cancelled, and it has happened again! So nothing has been done.
Extremely disappointed in the lack of communication, especially this time around. Horrible.
Avoid, avoid, avoid.
And please do not bother with an automatic response to this review saying you "missed the mark" - you had every opportunity to talk to me about this before I wrote this review. But people should be aware of your practices and your absolute lack of communication and customer service. Good riddanc read more
