    Receptionist was horrible and was the deciding factor for never coming back here. sad to have a great dentist with a horrible receptionist.

    Good staff and cleaning experience. Terrible cavity experience. Over anthesized "for good measure"…read more 2 days ruined. Dr had a serious attitude problem - taking calls during the session. Complaining about why he has to work on a tooth so far back. Complaining about the anesthesia injection plunger not working when it's inside my gums. Halfway through drilling he says "oh I don't want to keep drilling if that's just food stuck on your teeth". Kinda trumatized doubt I'll go back.

    This is a long story, we've been patients of this office over 40 years, on the third dentist. The…read morelast one who retired was wonderful. The new dentist and staff that came in, not so much. The dentist there now has been there for several years. I noticed when I first was there the assistants had to go to other rooms to get instruments they needed. Not a big problem, but a couple of months ago I was in and had a tooth that was infected. They sent me to a specialist which was fine until I was advised the insurance wouldn't cover the procedure because work had been done less than 2 years ago. I contacted South Mountain clinic and was told they would talk to the doctor and call me back. I never got a call so 2 weeks later I called. I was told by the manager they would refund the charge from their office for the work which was about half of what I had to pay the specialist because the insurance didn't cover it. They said the check was sent but we never got it. I called the office and was told they would check on it, no call so after some time I called and was told they weren't able to track it. I suggested the put a stop payment and reissue a new check. They had it sent to their office. I had to call to find out that they had the check, no call from the staff. The next incident happened when my wife was in for a checkup. On one of her tooth images, they saw what was described as a ball of fire. The dentist asked if it hurt and was told no so they decided it was an old build up under the crown. Four days later there was an infection and pain in that area. We are up north for the summer so on Monday my wife tried to see a dentist in Pinetop. She was told it wouldn't be until Wednesday, and they could not give any meds without seeing her first. The pain got more intense, so she called South Mountain Dental Tuesday morning the get antibiotics and medication for pain since she had been there last Tuesday. She was told they would talk to the Doctor and let her know. After several hours there was no call, so my wife called and was told that the doctor said he could prescribe antibiotics but nothing for the pain. He saw her last week, knows the problem and could have prescribed something for pain for a day until she sees the dentist up here. When we are back in town we will be going to another dentist. The office is not dependable, and I question the dentist ability on his diagnosis. On the upside every hygienist I have seen were wonderful.
