I'm updating my original review because people deserve to know the truth about how far this practice has fallen. The glowing reviews you'll see here are outdated--many of the doctors being praised, like Dr. Andrew, don't even work here anymore. Since the practice relocated and Dr. Koch took over, it's been a steady and disappointing decline. Dr. Koch took over the practice and it's completely gone downhill since they've moved. She hasn't personally examined my teeth in years, except for brief check-ins for orthodontic treatment. Most of my visits have been with Dr. Mondani, who completely lacks chair-side manner and shows zero warmth or connection. Every interaction now feels rushed, impersonal, and transactional. It's clear the focus is no longer on patient care--it's on moving people in and out as fast as possible. The new office space mirrors the cold, detached experience: sterile, industrial, and uninviting. It's the perfect metaphor for how the practice now operates--clinical and profit-driven, with none of the comfort or care you'd hope for in a family dental office. One of the other issues that adds to the decline of this place is that they no longer validate the parking for a full visit. They only validate for 1 hour and they have NEVER actually gotten me in and out within an hour so I have a pay a balance when I leave. It's only a few dollars but it's quite an annoyance. Another huge issue is the turnover is staff, clearly there is an issue with how they treat their employees as well because the tech turnover is insanely high. I haven't seen the same tech more than twice in a row and I'm trying to get to know a new tech each time. This used to be a dental office I trusted and recommended. Not anymore. If you're looking for a practice that values you as a patient and runs with professionalism and care, look elsewhere. This place is a shell of what it used to be. read more

Dr. Bordeaux has been practicing in Midtown Atlanta for 30 years now. Great attitude and demeanor, extremely knowledgeable, honest and upfront, and he really cares about each of his patients. His office is cozy and has a very welcoming feel to it, unlike other dentists' offices. He utilizes a lot of new dental equipment and technology, which other offices don't like to invest in. Great staff as well - from the front desk to the hygienists. I always have a good experience during my visits (and this is a dentist's office). Dr. Bordeaux is very accomplished in his field and his work has also been recognized by Georgia governor Sonny Perdue. He was on the Emory faculty before opening his practice. His office is located on the ground level, below The Dakota condominiums, on Juniper Street in Midtown. Street parking is available during certain hours of the day and there are also complimentary covered parking spots in the adjacent parking deck. I have been a patient with Dr Soulimiotis for the past 2.5 years, and was very happy with the quality of care at Dentistry for Midtown during that time. I also think in general they have a good set up to handle social distancing and take extra safety precautions during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, I am extremely unhappy about my last visit a few weeks ago and will be moving on to another practice as a result. I had a non-urgent appointment to get two fillings, but ended up waiting a full hour before Dr Soulimiotis was available to do the procedure. I was told apologetically that they were dealing with an emergency situation, which is completely understandable. However, my own procedure was not urgent. I do not understand why my appointment was not rescheduled, nor why I was never offered the choice between waiting and rescheduling, if an emergency was affecting their normal operations. Waiting an hour at the dentist office in the middle of a pandemic for a non-emergency appointment is not okay! Everybody knew they had messed up. Dr Soulimiotis, his assistant, the front desk staff, were very kind and apologetic. Dr Soulimiotis checked in with me via phone at the end of the day to make sure I wasn't feeling numbness or pain after the procedure. They mailed me a $5 gift card to Starbucks for the inconvenience, without me asking, and they didn't have to do that. But this was the most stressful dentist appointment I have ever had, and it didn't have to be like this, if they had thought to even offer to reschedule my appointment instead of leaving me in a chair with a swab of numbing agent in my cheek for an hour...in the middle of a pandemic. read more

I had trouble with one dental office when I first moved back to Atlanta from DC and so my teeth needed extra attention when I first started going to Dentistry for Midtown. Dentistry for Midtown has become my new dental choice in Atlanta. Everyone from the front desk to the the doctors, hygienists, and technicians always provide a great experience! The staff, from checking in, x-rays, exam, consultation, and checking out, were professional and friendly. The offices were clean and bright, as well as the waiting room. I didn't feel uncomfortable or like services were being pushed on me. The dentist listened to everything I had to say and took the time to really explain what was going on with my teeth and mouth. Very expensive (OVER $1,400) for a deep cleaning, failure to clearly communicate breakdown of fees to myself/insurance, and failed to notify me that my insurance was out-of-network until after work was completed resulting in unexpected additional fees. I went for my first appointment with Dr Koch and she is awesome. She did a thorough exam and found some serious issues. She referred me to a periodontist that really helped me. And she fixed some urgent needs with my teeth. She is a very careful, strategic doctor that really seemed to care about what she was doing. The staff are all really great too! This was my first and last time visiting Dentistry for Midtown. I went in for a cleaning and a consultation for some cosmetic stuff. My first impression was that the women at the front desk were a bit unprofessional. They had issues accepting my dental insurance even after I provided all the necessary information, also were having personal conversations pretty loud. Which is fine, whatever. My cleaning went fine, they tried to convince me that I may need a deep clean and that I needed to come back in a few months (I'm 24 and brush my teeth twice a day) which I thought was a little unnecessary. Lastly, when it came to my cosmetic questions, the doctor was very nice and informative but then they never followed up with me. He had me wait in the lobby while he went and got some photos printed out of what my teeth would look like afterwards. I waited in the lobby for 20 minutes, he never came back. They said they would give me a call with more information in the next couple days and I never heard anything back. I wouldn't recommend this office. read more

Dr. Laura Koch is without question the worst dentist that I have ever had the misfortune to contend with. Following a routine cleaning her "exam" was less that two minutes. She looked in my mouth and probed an area that the hygienist pointed out. She told the hygienist that I needed a filling and lest the room presumably to give another patient less than minimal care. No x-rays were taken. She did not examine the rest of my mouth. She did not examine my tongue for cancer. There was no consultation of treatment options. On the way out the front desk scheduled me for a filling and a cleaning. The cleaning was for a year from now. Common practice would have been for a maximum of six months. On seeing another dentist who took x-rays it was determined that the root of the tooth was damaged such that a filling was ill advised. In fact the damage was of such an extent that the tooth needed to be extracted. I was uncomfortable with Dr. Koch from a previous experience. My wife has memory problems and I instructed the hygienist that I needed to be informed before any procedures where performed. Dr. Koch told her that it was unnecessary to consult me and proceeded. So if you want to abdicate all responsibility for your own health and have someone make your decisions for you then by all means see Dr. Koch. I'm taking my body somewhere else. read more

So let me start out by saying that Dentistry for Midtown is definitely not convenient from where I live. But if I'm willing to drive an extra 15 minutes to get a really great pizza, why wouldn't I do the same for a great dental office? Last week I had 2 crowns done by Dr. Koch, and they turned out great! Everyone in the office is always so friendly, including the assistants and office workers. I saw Dr. Andrew P. Soulimiotis, DMD they got me in on an emergency visit when my normal DMD was out of town. Dr. Soulimiotis was attentive and personable he adjusted a crown that was causing me alot of pain. We discussed my options of possible having the root canal re done if the pain persisted. Traditionally, I have always been nervous about visiting dental offices. But the compassion of the Midtown Dentists and staff helped me to overcome my apprehensions. I was a patient of Dr. David Bordeaux's, whom I love dearly, and then upon his retirement, had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Andrew Soulimiotis. I was a little nervous as Dr. Soulimiotis was going to perform my crown procedure. But his calm and personable demeanor, made me feel comfortable and trusting. He discusses whatever he is preparing to do in terms you can understand, accepts any questions and not only listens but adheres to your concerns. He also called to check on me after the procedure to ensure that I was doing well and resting comfortably. Dr. Andrew, you rock! It is with great disappointment that I am writing this review. I have been a patient of this practice for more than 10 years, but had two negative experiences with the new practice when Dr. Bordeaux left. I had a filling done by Dr. Sunny Patel about six months ago. He used a wedge to keep my jaw open, and I had significant pain for about a month afterwards/could barely open my jaw when I began to eat until the muscles relaxed a bit. In my last appointment, I was informed by Dr. Patel that I had a cavity on one of my front teeth; this diagnosis was completed without an x-ray of the front tooth. I decided to seek a second opinion, and learned that one of the contributing factors to the cavity was likely because when filling the nearby tooth earlier, the dentist (one in the Midtown office, I do not remember who) nicked the nearby tooth with the drill. The dentist I sought for a second opinion was also quite surprised that an x-ray of the front tooth was not taken / considered in the diagnosis. I have loved having Deborah as a hygienist (she is the best I have ever had) but my experience with the dentists since Bordeaux has left has left me with no other choice than to find a new dentist. read more

My fiancé and I came in to get a cleaning and annual check-up. The woman doing the cleaning was very rough and used a very rough device to do the cleaning; which was unlike any cleaning I've ever had where they use a water-pressurized machine to do the cleaning. This one was basically her picking at my teeth with a metal device, scraping my teeth, and flossing my gums as hard as she could which was very uncomfortable! My fiancé got one filling the following visit from a tooth that didn't hurt at all, and immediately after the filling started to get sensitivity and hurt. 2 months later, that tooth continues to hurt. After being told how much the filling would cost and paying for it, we just received ANOTHER bill in the mail of $200 after the dental office charged $700 to our insurance for one filling and 2 cleanings (which we were told were completely covered). We called the dental office to see why they are overcharging us and the woman on the phone was very unprofessional and gave us a very unnecessary attitude when we were simply inquiring about the billing. In short, we will never be going back to this dental office again. read more

I've been going to Dentistry for Midtown for the better part of a decade now and I can say that I have always had a positive experience. Being that I typically have my appointments in the middle of a workday, it's important to me that I get in and out promptly and I can say that I've never had to wait long to either get in for cleanings or to have whatever services are required be completed. Each room is equipped with cable TV and remote, so I can watch what I please as I'm getting work done and the time seems to fly by. Dr Andrew (who I typically see on my visits and always remembers to engage me on my hometown Cleveland sports teams) and his team of hygienists have good chairside manner and are pleasant to talk to. Since I also pay out-of-pocket, it's also important to me that I feel I'm not getting charged for services I don't need - that being said, I'm always in and out at Dentisty for Midtown with a reasonable bill. I've never had a cavity and with DfM's help, I've kept the streak alive :-) I'd highly recommend them. read more
