I was lied to at Dentistry for kids. They told my 6 year old son he has several cavities. When we took him to my dentist, he said he had none and they lied. I don't know if they lied to get money, or if it was just the people that day, but that is really disgraceful. Lying is bad, but lying to kids is worse. This place is horrible I've been going here for years and they've always have had me leave in pain. Not long ago I got a filling for a cavity and they used the needle way longer than needed causing pain, then proceeded to drop a piece of the filling in which I choked on. Not to mention the woman could barely speak any English making it very hard to understand what she was doing to me. Despite the dentists the office people are nice. My family has been going to Denistry for kids for at least 15 years. My 3 children were scheduled for an appointment yesterday and we were 12 min late due to it taking longer than expected picking up 3 children from 3 different schools. I was told that unfortunately my kids could not be seen. Granted I usually have to wait at least 15 min to be called back and they never all go back at one time. I thought this was unacceptable considering this policy is not listed anywhere. I left and decided I wanted my kids dental records, went back in and the entire front office staff were talking about me. Over the past couple years this office has really went downhill (all new staff up front) and I feel that it has to do with the front of the office. It's a shame we will be finding a new office. read more

The whole staff is very welcoming and professional with both parents and children. Today was our first visit, I was quite pleased with the care and attention provide to my 6 year old daughter. Although she a had been to a different dentist office in the past, she was very apprehensive with having emergency dental procedure and starting care with a new provider. I felt the dentist made a good recommending for a crown, she also provided after care instructions. She was very knowledgeable, answered my questions and gave clear explanation. I am happy with the patience the staff demonstrated while handling a very anxious patient. Thank you so much for caring for my daughter and her cracked tooth. He was upset ( understatement ) but they worked quickly and calmly ( nothing I could have ever done) and got him fixed up! Please be aware they might send you surprise bill after visiting. Before I took my 2 kids there, I called twice and provided all the insurance information and medical history of dentistry. They've confirmed that the visit (cleaning + annual visit) would be all covered by my insurance. But I received a bill with $114 after a month. I called them and was told it was new patient fee, $57 per kid. This was the 4th children's dentist offices we've used, as we have moved multiple times in the last 5 years. And this is the first time I received the 'new patient' bill, and wasn't informed ahead at all. For all the other dentists we went before, if there was any parts that insurance didn't cover, I was always informed ahead. Anyway, not happy with it and won't go back again. By the way, my insurance has paid for $172+$109 for this visit already. Children's hospital that we used to go usually charge $80 per kid to the insurance for the same thing. Don't bring your children to this facility. The dentist told me my daughter needed 3 filings. I couldn't believe this so I went and got a second opinion. Turns out she only needed 2 filing. I was paying in cash as I don't have dental insurance. This is so deceptive and dishonest. I should report them for this outrageous behavior. read more

I would 1000% recommend this place for your kids. Everyone from the reception staff to the Dentists were extremely friendly and very helpful. We did not feel rushed, like at most providers, and they allowed us to explain the situation and they talked through everything. They understood our son's anxiety issues and made him feel comfortable and welcome. I wish we would have found DFK sooner. read more

I took my son here because he had severe tooth pain. I was Waldo referred to them by my dentist because they didn't treat kids. They asked me what he eats and mom shamed me for letting him eat yogurt pouches and applesauce pouches. He loves them and I didn't know any better. They told me his mouth was full of decay and that they needed to take a tooth out and put him under to do many crowns. I was mortified and the worst experience ever. Lucky two of the ladies up front were super nice and helpful otherwise we would definitely not be back. read more

My 5.5 year old daughter recently had a tooth ache from a previous cavity. I made an appointment with Dr.Katie and that was a mistake! Our visit started with the hygienist who was far from compassionate. My daughter was nervous so I was trying to give her a peep talk and all she could do was question me on why I was babying her. On to Dr.Katie.. she is the roughest toughest dentist I have ever met. When my daughter would get upset she'd stop what she was doing in a stern voice and basically force her to be quite. She had no sympathy for a scared little girl. She drilled into her tooth for 10 mins then decided it needed to be pulled. It personally felt like torture!! Never again will we go back! read more

Today I had my son's first appointment at Dentistry for kids and it was not a pleasant experience. Actuslly It was not my son's first dentist experience and he had a filling and dental crown 1 year ago in another dentist office when he was 6 years old, he was very cooperating in 1 hour work on his teeth which amazed his dentist. But today we came to your clinic to do a sealant work on his tooth,and we experienced very impatient behavior from his Dentist.In that just 10-15 minutes of work, first time she put the straw to his mouth to spit in,the kid scared a liittle bit and slightely rose up his hand going to grab the sraw,but she reacted angrily saying not grab her hand.or when my son was forgotten to open and keep his mouth as big as she asked during the work, she spoke tohim with anger and after a couple minutes she put something to his mouth o keep it open but one time that thing made him feels choking and slightly tried to grab the Dentist's hand, she talked bad to him again ignoring the kids feeling and scared him,I was seeing my kid's anxiety and fast breathing during the rest of work.it was very disappointing for just 15 minutes work with an easy kid. We won't bring my kid to this doctor for further treatments. read more

My daughter is almost 4 and this was her first dentist. From start to finish I was impressed. The ability to download and complete the new patient forms in advance of our visit was great. When we arrived I liked the multiple small waiting rooms with toys and video games for different ages. The receptionist was very polite. The dental hygienist was simply amazing. She walked my daughter through all of the tools and instruments she would be using. After her cleaning, the dentist came in to check her teeth. He was kind and also worked well with my daughter. No x-rays until next visit but I'm sure they will handle that with kid gloves as well (pun intended). When my son is old enough, we'll bring him here too. I have no reservations recommending the North Hills DFK location to all of my friends. read more

This was our first time there. Our 6 year went for a a cleaning and x-rays. The office was clean, tney were on time, and all staff were very friendly. They made him feel comfortable and praised him throughout the whole process. He had 2 cavities and they filled them the same day. I was nervous about the fillings since he has anxiety and an over sensitive gag reflex, but thanks to their kind approach and patience he had them filled with no hesitation and no anxiety. Did not like this place. Yes I'm a picky person. So what? I'm reasonable too. I feel like patients especially children need quality time and understanding . We were rushed!! My toddler's cleaning went super fast like she barely cleaned his teeth..I think she (the hygienist)didn't even touch his molars. Imagine we forgot his bag which had a toothbrush n a couple stickers cuz we were stormed out of there. Oh and yes that's all my toddler got was a 4 inch toothbrush and a couple stickers..no balloon, no "my first at dentist" picture or certificate ..nothing like that ..I thought this place is called "dentistry for kids" you would assume it was a little customized for the young ones..but nahhhh. They didn't explain much.The dentist later came n he wasn't friendly or bubbly and didn't have the personality to deal with young children. I'm very offended. I don't think I will go back. What will all that fancy decor and arcade games in the lobby do us if we don't get quality work or care???? Two thumbs down. Too bad it is such a convenient location and super close to my house. read more

I went to this office throughout high school. My experience there was never great, I found some, but not all, of the dentist there to be rude with a bad attitude. I never complained much, but the experience was just generally not good. But it wasn't until I had to get my first cavities filled that I decided I did not like it there. I was only 15 at the time and I had never had a cavity. I didn't know how the procedure would go or what the process would be, and no one took the time to explain it to me. I was sent to the back where they began drilling into my face, and it wasn't until I was wincing in pain that they decided to offer me Novocaine. At that point I was panicked and scared and honestly not trusting the staff. I turned down their offer because I had never had novociane and I just wanted to be done ASAP. When they started the second tooth the pain got much worse and I began to sweat profusely and cry. When I got out of there and talked to my mom about the experience, the dentist argued they had offered me novocaine initially, which was a flat out lie, and was very condescending about it and lacked empathy for how their failures had effected my experience. I was so traumatized by this experience and their inability to do their job and make a child feel comfortable. I continued going their since it was my families dentist, and a few years later I needed 2 more cavities filled. I definitely accepted their offer for novocaine this time, but when the drilling started i could still feel the pain. The dentist noticed me wincing in pain and offered more novocaine. I accepted. They continued drilling and i could still feel the pain and she told me "It can't possibly still hurt". But it did. I don't know hwy or how, but it definitely did. I felt as though the dentists there were extremely insensitive, especially since they work with children. I refused to go back after that last experience. I have 3 children (8, 12 & 19) and this by far was the worst dental service my children experienced. During their cleaning, the dentist was rough leaving them with sores and in tears. They just wanted to get them in and out. The dentist yelled at my son that he was 12 and shouldn't be acting like a baby! Just herded them in and out like cattle. read more
