Dr. Jack is the best pediatric dentist in town. Extremely friendly staff, thoughtful approach to working with children.

I am writing to share a concern regarding my recent visit in the past two weeks with youth smiles…read moreon 09.19.25 - for my 8 year old son. While I appreciate the easy of scheduling and initial check-in progress. encountered a situation that I believe warrants reflection and training, if applicable. Upon being called for his appointment, I was informed by staff when time for my child to go back for visit at location - that parents are not permitted to accompany children back due to HIPAA. As a healthcare professional with training in ethics and administration, nursing - I respectfully questions this policy to understand and asked for further elaboration. which I was only told that staff member was there for 5 months and it has been this way - asking for other office staff to validate and not providing a reason that I could understand. HIPAA protects patient privacy but does not prohibit parental presence for minors - I just want to make sure my rights and my Childs rights were not violated. Or any parents rights that are advised this without further reasoning to support During the visit my child ran away from staff member, three times before I went back there to assist with getting him - to step in and to de-escalate. As a veteran - I have also worked in psych and feel that with information and even some kids are comfortable with parents- this situation could have been prevented I appreciate other staff stepping in that were understanding and supportive during the process. I shared this with other offices as my child has abscess unsure if this also contributed to behavior and while speaking to other locations - when asking if I could go back with my child -not during treatment but for cleaning and consultation - they were concerned and I shared Youth smiles advised due to HIPAA I could not -when my child only had X-rays, no cleaning as staff wanted him to follow-up with treatment and they helped me complete school forms, I am concerned has changed for HIPAA. My concern is not just about the incident but the broader implications for inclusion, accessibility, emotional safety. If there is formal policy, should be clearly communicated to families, ideally in writing or on your website -that is not mentioned. If exceptions are made for children with disabilities , staff should be trained to ask about accommodations with compassion not judgement. I hope this feedback can be used as a training opportunity to ensure that all children-regardless of diagnosis or background- are treated with dignity and that parents are supported in advocating for their care.

I recently moved from Jersey City to Pittsburgh and she kept complaining how bad my old dentist might have been. The process was painful and rushed and she was in a hurry I send me off. Did not give breaks to spit and was just horrible. At one point I moved a little because of the pain and she got irritated saying not to do that. Well then Atleast have the courtesy to check if it's hurting me or stop in between and allow me to rinse. She found multiple additional cavities much like other people have pointed out in the reviews but I never want to see this dentist again. I'd consult another dentist before going in for additional procedures.

Was fitted for my permanent crowns and it took at least a month for them to come back. Called the office no answer even went on my lunch break and only her Incompetent nurse was there explaining she had to leave early because of a family emergency. I'm definitely contacting the better business bureau and my insurance company about her BECAUSE HER LICENSE NEEDS REVOKED..!! It's been at least 1 year and both crowns had came off already and no I'm not going back for her to fix them.

TLDR; Make sure you get a receipt if you make any payments at the office and pay with a card so you…read morehave a paper trail. Went in for a simple checkup and cleaning in 2019. Paid my full balance on my way out. A couple months later, a debt collector agency calls me asking for payment for that visit. I dispute with the agency and give transaction info showing I paid. I call the dentist office too to let them know about the collection attempt and give them the same info so we're all on the same page. It's 2021 now. I learned that the debt collection was still on and they were calling my family. I documented everything and requested everything in writing. Disputed the collection again, gave them redacted bank statement as proof of payment and error. They rejected my dispute (mmmhm). I called Premier Family Dentistry and left a voicemail summarizing this issue and identifying their mistake. I get a call back and am asked to email the redacted bank statement. Just got confirmation from Medical Bureau of Pittsburgh that my balance is now paid in full (on behalf of Premier Family Dentistry). How do you put someone through all of this and then not apologize? Or even acknowledge the mistake? Free tip for the office: Consider, "Sorry about our mistake and the inconvenience it caused you." And here's some review accounting for everyone: (- 1 star): turning to a collections agency rather than calling your patient about a billing error (- 1 star): not following up when I called the office in 2019 and alerted you to the error (- 1 star): not owning up to your mistake with an apology or acknowledgement (+ 1 star): correcting the mistake in 2021 (+ 1 star): fine dental work, thumbs up
