Absolutely love it at this dentist office. My daughter is 4.5 and has been going here every 6 months since she turned 2. Every person that works in this office is incredibly friendly. My daughter loves all the pictures and themed rooms. She loves picking out her toothpaste flavor and then getting a bag of goodies at the end. We can typically find a spot in the lot, but if its full you can pay to park on Murray ave. My favorite part is there is a Starbucks in the same building. Dr. Jack *is* the pediatric dentist in Pittsburgh. We absolutely love him. The office makes the experience so wonderful. e.g., They have little sunglasses to block out that bright light they use to check the teeth. They have all the great flavors of tooth paste. They take pictures of the visit. The office is bright and happy. The staff is the happiest around. Most importantly: the doctors and staff give children the kind of experience that show that them that the going to the dentist can be a fun experience, not a punishment! Call immediately! I called to schedule my 17 month old daughter's first dental appointment. The receptionist told me that they do not in fact see patients until 2-2.5 years unless there is an issue. I mentioned that the AAP and AAPD recommend first cleaning as soon as the first tooth eruption occurs, which is stated on the office website. She said they have been doing this for years and do not follow these guidelines, even though stated on their website. She said as long as I clean my daughter's teeth with "a soft brush and no toothpaste" she should be fine. Dr. Pechersky was my daughter's dentist for 12 years. He has retired and Dr. Valasek has taken over the practice. I understand that it is busy and especially during Covid. My daughter had a cavity that we needed to get filled before leaving for vacation. I have switched dentists because the person I was speaking to was so rude and sassy with me and basically said that they couldn't fill a cavity until October. It's August now. I also asked for a callback from the doctor and got nothing in return. This practice has entirely changed and I certainly don't recommend them. read more

We just got back from our first visit with Dr. Jack and my daughter didn't want to go to school afterward (which she loves), because she "likes the dentist better." And I see her point, I wish Dr. Jack could be my dentist too. I was totally impressed - they made the whole experience fun. My daughter loved picking out her own toothbrush and flouride flavors (they have a lot of choices), and putting on the sunglasses. They explained and let her touch all the instruments before the exam which made her feel better. We got a cool flosser (maybe those are standard now), some stickers and even a photo of her first dentist experience. We have had wonderful experience at this place until today. Unfortunately our regular doctor was not available. The doctor who saw us ignored our concerns and would not answer our questions. Nonetheless, we will continue going here for our daughter's care because the staff is wonderful but we will make sure not to see the same doctor we saw today. read more

I was a patient of Dr. Jack for 25 years. He was my first dentist as a baby (whenever he would see me he would fondly recall that I vomited on him). I had a lot of cavities as a child and they were all filled, but I literally didn't know I had cavities filled until I was older and my mom told me. There was absolutely NO PAIN. I loved going to the dentist. Dr. Jack was always funny and friendly. As a teen, he was my orthodontist, and now my adult dentist remarks on what an awesome job he did. I went to him every 6 months, and I've never had a cavity in my adult teeth. I miss Dr. Jack! Take your kids to him, you will not regret it. Truly an amazing dentist. read more

If you are looking for a fantastic dentist who is knowledgeable and caring- GO SEE DR. AARON!!!!! He is friendly and honest. We originally went to him for a second opinion for my son and he told me what he would recommend if it was his own child. He explained things thoroughly and answered all my questions. My son developed an abscess on his tooth and when I called the emergency line after hours Dr. Aaron called back immediately. He squeezed us in on a Saturday morning to look at the tooth and him and his staff did everything they could to make my son feel comfortable. Dr. Aaron even contacted me Saturday evening to check on my son and see how he was doing. You could not ask for better customer service and really just someone who really cares for their patients even when we were brand new to the practice. No one asked me to leave a review but I feel compelled when someone/ a business goes above and beyond. I am so very thankful someone recommended this practice to my family. read more

I've been going to Dr. Jack since my first visit when I was getting my teeth cleaned for the first time as a toddler. He used to be located in Oakland and that's where we first went and then we stuck with him when they relocated to Squirrel Hill. I'm only able to go to him a few more times while I'm studying in college since he really is a pediatric dentist....I really don't want to have to find another dentist, they are just the best here! The staff is all friendly, especially the people that clean the teeth and then after you get your teeth cleaned, Dr. Jack checks himself to make sure everything is okay. I hope Dr. Jack's practice stays open because when I have kids I'd love for them to go to him as well! read more

My son (almost 6yr old) had to have his first filling today. These dentists are miracle workers! They made me stay in the waiting room - a smart move on their part, because I'm sure my anxiety would have rubbed off on my son. My son was told he was having a "cleaning". Well he was very chipper when the procedure was done - he told his brother it felt like "nothing". I wish I could say the same for all the filings I've had in my life. We have been to Dr. Jack's office three times now. I am so impressed with his office that I will recommend him to others without a second thought. My daughter enjoys her office visits and when she recently had to have a cavity filled she commented on how easy it was. The office went step by step with her so that she knew exactly what was going on and gave her demonstrations of each tool and Dr. Jack made sure she was comfortable with each step. This man has been working with children for years and it shows. We have always been seen on time and the appointments aren't drawn out. WOW!! I can not say enough great things about Dr. Jack and his staff! Today was my daughter's very first dental appt and it could not have gone better! Dr. Jack explained everything he was doing and all his instruments so that my daughter felt comfortable and at ease. He was gentle and very kind and assured her that nothing was going to hurt. Actually, she giggled through her entire visit. She loved the sunglasses that she got to wear to block the light and even got a picture of her first visit to bring home! My son is very anxious about doctors' and dentists' office. He has been to this office twice and both times, 3 people were required to hold him down. The second time, the Dr. did not have patience for my son's crying so he abruptly left the room. He came back to perform the exam, during which he made snide remarks and jokes about my son's experience which was horrible for my son and for us. The waiting room is dingy and there was little to engage the kids in there except a worn out train table. I would not return to this office and am looking for another dentist. read more
