Billing was unable to distinguish between medical and dental insurance. Refused to call my insurance company to get it cleared up. Called my insurance and they did not understand why this office was not able to distinguish between the two. When I called dental fields office again they claimed to have already called several times, however I do not believe this to be the case. Very frustrating, canceled my appointment and will find another dentist who can either tell the difference between medical and dental or at least call to get it cleared up. read more

Perfect place for your dental needs. They accepted most insurances including Medicare and Medicaid They do such a good job I was totally impressed my dentist did NOT sell me nothing extra. He actually advised me if I was going to have brace one more time my teeth at my age they will separate or shift all over again. Very good quality of care very gentle no pain. Just wanted to share a VERY POSITIVE experience I had today at dental fields with my son. My son is 18 and on the spectrum. He had to get his molar removed due to cavity . He really struggles with needles and communicating feelings. When we were in the room, I noticed we had a new assistant. Which means she doesn't know Makhai or how to approach this. So I told Makhai I needed to quickly use the restroom. Went to the front and spoke with the secretary who knows us. She quickly found our assistant. Gave her the info. We don't "use" needles we use special gel. And we use gauze over his eyes but under his glasses. It helps make the special gel work. And most importantly, we don't talk him through it. We only praise him. When I say Gabby and Dr Sharma understood, didn't question and didn't speak down to us because of my requests. They were AMAZING!!!! My boy was a beast and took it like a champ! I received top notch care from my dentist but then he left and I am happy for the doctor. When I called to schedule with them they told me he had a family emergency and it turns out that wasn't true. Also, I received an upper plate and I ended losing a tooth while eating a soft sandwich. They replaced it no charge. But then another tooth fell out not through any fault of my own and they said it would be $250.00 to put the tooth back in. I'm thinking the workmanship isn't so hot. read more

They Are Nice And Helpful Love My Experience But They Don't Do Certain Things Which Makes Me Have To Travel

I am switching to another dental practice for several reasons. Most importantly, they did a bad job giving me a filling, and I had to go to another practice to get if fixed. In addition, their poor communication and long wait times were inconvenient. Details below. The filling: The dentist gave me a numbing shot in the roof of my mouth without using any topical anesthetic. Other dentists have always put a swab of topical numbing cream in my mouth for several minutes before giving shots. More importantly, the cavity didn't hurt at all before I got it filled, but after the filling it hurt every time I flossed or ate something crunchy. I went back and gave them a chance to fix it, and they said there was nothing wrong so they didn't do anything. I went to another dentist who replaced the filling and now I am pain free. I shouldn't have had to pay out of pocket to fix Dental Fields' mistake. The inconveniences: FOUR TIMES I went to this practice for an appointment and did not get served. One time they sent me away because they needed a letter from my doctor. One time they made me wait over half an hour past my appointment so I left. One time their power was out and they failed to communicate that, instead sending me reminders to come to my appointment. And one time I came in hoping they would fix a bad filling and they didn't (see above). Such a waste of time! read more

They don't do all the work on your teeth first visit like before and are crowded sometimes. Nobody wears a mask in the waiting area but the dentist in the back are very clean. They switch their gloves out, wear masks, and wipe down everything. I will be coming back because of their work, cleanliness, and the way they treat me. read more

Dr Omar is personable, knowledgeable and compassionate! Kyra took the X-rays and assisted with my teeth cleaning and she is so sweet. Needless to say that my first visit was wonderful. I called & was able to get an appointment set up in a couple of days. Front desk staff was friendly, waiting room, exam room and bathroom was sparkling clean. Dr. Sharma is absolutely a gem. I do not know where I would be without her. Oh, I know someone curled up in a fetal position in tears. There is absolutely no pain like a tooth pain in my opinion. I have a rough work (travel schedule), I can call her from any state and she will assist as much as she can. I have had to schedule 4 emergency appointments and every time She accommodates. Wait over 45 minutes with no updates given, next appt the nitrous tank was not used properly, numbing him before gas was even working, by the time the oxygen tank was replaced and corrected my son was screaming and never wants to see a dentist again.. walking in he loved the dentist and never ever had a problem now he is terrified. read more

I finally scheduled my first dental appointment a more than a couple years (I know, I know). I decided on Dental Fields in DeKalb based on their positive reviews on Facebook. As much as I wanted to go back to my old dentist, I did not feel like driving more than an hour to him but change is good. I am VERY pleased at the service! Another reason I chose to come here is because of their office availability. I scheduled my appointment at 5:30pm and made it on time. The waiting area is a little small when there are kids there but it looks very nice (furniture, receptionist desk). I was handed some paperwork to fill out (4 pages - very quick and easy to fill out) and once I handed that over to the receptionist, I was waiting less than 10 minutes, if that, and then my name was called. The back area where the patients go to is very nice and modern. The chair I sat in was comfy and I like how the dental hygienist (sorry if that's the wrong title!) put a plastic baggie over the head rest. I'm a germaphobe so this put my mind at ease. Since I was going in for preventative care, they started out by taking x-rays of my teeth which was a rather quick and easy process. Then Dr. Joy Ko came in and introduced herself. She is very nice and explained everything thoroughly. I let her know that I was experiencing some sensitivity on/around my fangs/canines. She took pictures of those areas and later explained (and showed me) why I was experiencing sensitivity. She advised me to come back in and get the areas where the roots are exposed covered/filled. I really felt like Dr. Ko knew what she was talking about and again, really liked that she explained what she was going to do and explained what was going on in the pictures. Before I left, I booked my followup appointment and my 6 month appointment. All of this was super easy and their appointment times were very convenient and worked with my schedule. DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER THIS PLACE. I went to DF for a long-needed check-up and was told I needed to have 4 teeth removed. No matter how many injections, the dentist could not numb me enough to pull even one tooth without causing horrible pain. They said that being fearful can cause the numbing agent to not work. Like an idiot I believed that. I went back to try again. This time they got me numb enough (not totally numb) to pull all 4. One extraction was almost unbearable. When I got home I saw, and my sister confirmed, that only 3 teeth were removed. I'll never go back and will report this incompetence and malpractice to the ADA. read more

i hate the fact that i payed for my daughter to get braces here and she explains to me that there is never any chain colors for her other then gray, pink, black and white. They've been out for the past 3 years!!! It's time to update it dental fields! DO BETTER AND UPDATE YOUR COLORS! GET MORE! i would give it many more stars if they provided some sort of floss also with braces and instructions with containing the braces all they did was give my daughter a paper stating what she can't eat. NOO instructions on how to brush teeth. Nothing. After many years of just letting things be the way they are I'm definitely glad about switching orthodontist for my daughter. read more

Last October I went to a big box dental office and was told I need $8000 of work done.I was in no pain or discomfort so I found it hard to believe. I took my time and the list they gave me to several others including my dentist of 36 years in Chicago. I didn't want to drive 3 hrs rt to have work done (He said I needed some of the work but not all) so my search continued. Erica at Dental Fields was the most thoughtful person I crossed in my search and decided to give Dental Fields a try. I met Dr Ma today and he did the exam and cleaning.
