I don't have a car, so I have to walk everywhere and they are close to my home. My mouth still hurts. So I have to find someone else who has time to see me. I booked the appointment online, so I don't understand what the deal was, as to why they didn't have time? Overall, the staff was nice. I do recommend they get some help with time management, so noone else experiences this. Now I have to find another dentist, so I won't be wasting mine or their time. I never even seen the dentist. I went because I am trans and having FMS (facial masculinization surgery) and my surgeon wanted me to consult with an orthodontist. I needed to see how the different options for FMS would impact having braces/Invisalign in the future, how braces/Invisalign might continue to change my jaw after surgery, and based on that, what surgical options would be best. Dr. Allen was really informative, he took the time to go through all of the possible options and answer all of my questions. It was clear that he is well informed on facial surgery, even when it doesn't directly relate to dentistry. He was really friendly and acted like they were all completely normal questions. I was definitely nervous to have an appointment about this and he made it a completely comfortable experience. Additionally, I've had other unrelated orthodontic consults in the past with other providers. Grand dental was the most thorough.

Dr. Junck explained how things would go thoroughly during the consultation and he made sure to speak with me post surgery as well. Really, the whole process from my first phone call to make the consultation visit appointment until now has been a good experience. No emergency service/ after hours. Had to wait a day (Monday) to be seen. Dentist confirmed dry socket but didn't pack it. She placed some numbing gel inside that lasted 2 hours before falling out. Hoping it was enough, he waited until the following day. This is when we learned just how toxic and abusive the support staff is. The staff made decisions about care rather than consult. They accused him of being a smoker (he clearly isn't) and told him he couldn't be seen until the next day. Unable to work or eat. This is a farmer who works through pain and illness all the time and having this exposed nerve go untreated for 4 days is DISGUSTING. I called back to get banned of oral surgeon and support staff refused to give me the Dr name. My son got on the phone and we were told she would have to get with the Dr to find out which surgeon he should see. That was icky after threatening to call the licensing board of Illinois to file a complaint which we are clearly doing now too. The lack of basic human decency in the support staff who has assumed the role of a doctor demonstrates the lack of organization and professionalism in this office. Not certain where they source their doctors from but any dentist who admittedly doesn't know how to pack a dry socket needs to be known for all. In addition, whoever manages this office has done an excellent job in training the staff to act like victims when their toxic and very unprofessional behavior backfires on them. What office doesn't know the name of the oral surgeons who see patients in their office? One that is looking for a lawsuit for gross negligence.

I went to Dr. Faubl for a tooth that was infected & causing pain & one that was already loose. Both teeth needed to be extracted which I had no problem with. Since one was a front tooth, I wanted to replace it for cosmetic reasons. The other was a back tooth which I decided I was not going to replace. For the front tooth, Dr. Faubl did a fixed bridge consisting of a false tooth attached to two new crowns fitting over the existing teeth on either side. The cost for this procedure was $3,999.99 before a discount from a dental saving plan purchased directly from Dr. Faubl. The cost after the discount plus the cost of the dental plan was $3756.99. Upon the recommendation from a good friend, I have since started going to another local long-time dentist. Out of curiosity, I asked this dentist the cost of the same procedure for the missing back tooth. To my amazement, my new dentist quoted a price of $2,870.00, which is more than 28% less than the full price from Dr. Faubl. Of additional concern is that Dr. Faubl said that I no longer need to take an antibiotic prior to dental work to help to prevent infection since I had a prior knee joint replacement. However, my new dentist insists that I do take an antibiotic prior to dental work & wrote a Rx for it. I know that Dr. Faubl will say that this is no longer recommended, but I rather be safe than sorry & wind up with a serious knee infection. (I was talking to a good friend about this, & he said his brother got a serious knee infection from not taking an antibiotic prior to dental work.) By the way, before going to Dr. Faubl I was going to another local dentist for many years but he sold his practice & retired. But I continued to go there for routine dental work & saw most or all of the dentists that bought the practice. The last dentist that I saw there quoted a price of $2,700.00 for the fixed bridge procedure, also after a dental discount plan. I did not have it done there because I did not really care for, or have confidence in any of the dentists that bought the practice. However, they did have me take an antibiotic before most dental work.

I had cracked a molar completely in half and didn't really know what to expect. I arrived approx 1/2 hr early for scheduled appt. I was taken minutes after my arrival and within 1/2 hr I had X-rays and the the broken half of tooth removed w/o any anasthesia or numbing w/no significant pain. Barely any discomfort. A temporary crown was put on and I was out the door and able to have an anniversary lunch w/my husband. He is an amazing dentist! His staff are very professional and friendly. The minute u walk thru the door u feel comfortable and cared for. I can't imagine finding a better dentist anywhere else. Wish there were more stars to give him. He rates a 10 in my book.
