If anyone is looking for a new dentist in the Sycamore/Dekalb area Dekamore Dental is the place to go! Had my bi-annual exam about 3 weeks ago. My new dentist, Dr. Toledo was absolutely wonderful as had been by previous dentist Dr. Skylar at this office. Dr. Toledo said it was finally time to replace my crown. It had been over 35 years. So it was time to do it. Quoted me a price of $356. Had it underway with the impression of the tooth. Then I get a call from Krystle the fine woman up front asking if I could wait a week due to insurance issues. They're in charge. I waited. Got the new crown two days ago. Yeah! Better news? I had a filling to fall out so I make an appointment to have my tooth pulled. I get there to get my tooth pulled but instead of them pulling my tooth they want to schedule a deep cleaning for the left side of my mouth and then come back and do the right side of my mouth ! I thought this was normal! I made the appointment to clean the left side. After that cleaning I went home and called my insurance company and they said they didn't have to do any cleaning!! That's just more money for them! This is a stall tactic to get money' so I never scheduled the second cleaning and never got what I went there for. As of today I never got it pulled I don't trust nobody in the medical field!! read more

Updated review: god awful service. When I called, the lady seemed very nice and greeted me, but when I told her I was canceling my appointment, she sighed really big and then her whole demeanor changed and she was so rude. What a wonderful Dental place! The place is very clean and bright and new. The staff was so kind and knowledgeable. Alma was so gentle when taking the x-rays. And the hygienist was great and did a fantastic job on my teeth. The best was Dr. Baig. What a top notch dentist! She was so kind and explained everything. She was so knowledgeable about everything and when she was working on my teeth did such a great job and made me feel very comfortable the whole time . I have got to rave about Dr. Sanchez and the two assistants I had. Dr. Sanchez made me feel so comfortable! He never made me feel judged about my lacking dental hygiene, he was very informative and kind and caring and tender with the most EXCEPTIONAL bedside manner that I have ever experienced at a dentist before. He kept checking to ask if I was okay, if I could feel anything, how I was doing. He was just absolutely hands down incredible!! My special needs son also saw a different dentist here, unfortunately I don't remember her name, but she was so excellent and kind and caring and worked so well with him, and he is very difficult in these type of appointments. Doctor G and T did an amazing job! Got a root canal, crown, and teeth whitening. All appointments I was in they were kind!

My adult children and I have had multiple terrible experiences here. I wanted to give them another try because everyone has off days. The dental assistant did my polishing and skipped several teeth. The dentist used the cavitron and that was thorough. I've never been to an appointment where they did not floss my teeth. The DA was rude and the dentist didn't explain anything. On another occasion my son had a new patient exam and cleaning that lasted 10 minutes. I was waiting. Definitely not thorough in that time. Dr. Moran is rude, disrespectful, and has a horrible bedside manner. I will not be back to see him. The previous dentist I was seeing no longer works at this location so they made me an appointment with the first available dentist. Now I see why he was available. I came in to get some teeth extracted as part of the treatment plan we had already established. Dr. Moran refused to extract any teeth because as he put it he "only does simple extractions". Then why am I even here. Nobody else was available that could help me so I have an appointment with another dentist in a couple weeks. Hopefully he is nicer than Dr. Moran. read more

If you are thinking about making an appointment at this dental facility, I would turn and run. The clerical staff is inefficient, rude, and disrespectful. My 13 year old grandson was given anesthesia that he never had before which caused him to be sick for three days. We even had to contact his doctor. They have a 1-1/2 star rating and if you look up their reviews, most of them are rated 1. In a nutshell, receiving proper care with this office is like pulling teeth. read more

Came in for my normal checkup, the dentist said I had a small cavity and I had the filling done the same day. Decided to go without the anesthetic because it was a small filling but it did hurt a little and usually only ever feel "cold" on the tooth while getting a filling. Next few days my tooth started to have extreme sensitivity to anything I drank. I came back in a week after but not much was done. Decided to go to another dentist and she re-did my filling. Unfortunately the damage is already done with the first filling that most likely touched a nerve and still feeling that sensitivity so I may now need a root canal on a previously perfectly healthy tooth. The new dentist I went to took her time and shaped the filling, but dekamore felt very rushed. I do not plan on coming back here and I do not recommend this establishment. read more

I have never been so disappointed or so frustrated. I received a denture and a partial from here. The service included all necessary adjustments and a final realignment, after the required 6 month waiting period. When the time came for the final realignment I was told that they would not do it. I was told that I had been in for so many (allowed) adjustments that they "knew" that I had "unreasonable" expectations and that I would have to see a specialist, in Chicago. All the phone numbers that they provided were incorrect! My expectation was that my upper denture would not keep falling down in my mouth. Fortunately, my insurance has approved Dental Fields of Sycamore for completion of the required work. My advice is to consider your options carefully. You should not have to be spoken to in a rude and belittling manner and refused service that you were originally offered. read more

I like the location and the office. The dentist is very nice and friendly. I am very happy with the service I receive. What stops Dekamore from earning more stars is the wait time. I have been here 3 times and every time I have had to wait over 45 minutes (at least) past my scheduled appointment time. How can I be charged for not canceling with 24hrs notice but when I get there they waste my time waiting. read more

So, I hate dentists. Always have!! I had to get a tooth extracted and have been putting it off for a while until I couldn't anymore. Dr. Layer was comforting, professional and answered all 100 questions I had( he is easy on the eyes as well). That said I wish I could give this place a better rating than 5 Star's. I was looking at the reviews before my appointment, and I figured "wow...but they cant mess up a general teeth cleaning!" Boy was a wrong. For starters, the entire waiting room smelt like body odor, which I put off as maybe one of the patients waiting in the room. They take me back, take 18 x-rays, and no that isn't an exaggeration, look at the picture attached! Then the doctor comes in and tells me that I need a root canal (which is probably true), but then I need a lot of other work on multiple other teeth that haven't been bothering me, and that my dentist back home that I have been going to for years has never mentioned. It makes me feel like they are just trying to milk me for money! And then, they start polishing my teeth, which the girl did a horrible job. She didn't rinse my mouth out, and I had to get up out of the chair and rinse it myself because I couldn't stand my mouth feeling gritty. What she did rinse, she squirted the water directly into the back of my mouth and not on my teeth, and then told me to close my mouth so the tool could suction it up. The water tool was leaking, and went all over my face and neck, which she didn't bother cleaning up. Then, she half-assed my flossing, and they didn't scrape the tartar off of my teeth, which I'm sure I had plenty of since I hadn't been to the dentist in about a year. Then, they tried to get me to purchase all of these add on jobs, which would have pushed my bill through the roof. I wanted a copy of my X-rays, which I have to pay $10 for a piece of paper with the 18 of my X-rays crammed on. Then, they decided to take another 20 minutes to formulate this "treatment plan", which told me I'd have to pay nearly $2,000 for, which included a tests and all of this scammy crap to get my bill higher. Not to mention, when I was leaving AN HOUR AND A HALF LATER, the room still smelled like B.O.! Now, I'm going to have to go back to my family dentist two hours away to get my teeth recleaned, and I'll have to pay out of pocket since I am only allowed one teeth cleaning per 6 months with my insurance! I am very disappointed!!! Worst place I have ever been in! The staff didn't know what they were doing, as it took four receptionists to figure out how to print out my x-rays!!!!!! read more

WORST EXPERIENCE IVE EVER HAD WITH PAYMENTS!!! I paid cash, told them it was for my monthly payment, but was only gonna pay $20 in card that was already on file. Paid cash over 1 week early ! Then I got charged the full amount in my card!! I went in to try to fix problem, NO APOLOGY, told me there was a misunderstanding. They didn't care that the my accountant went negative, and now I have fees to pay on top of that. Never did anyone in the office apologize once for anything. I never raised my voice, was polite, and as I was leaving I even said okay thanks AND THEY SAID NOTHING. I did hear them talk about me as I was leaving. Never returning. read more

I will never take my children here EVER again. After taking an X-ray, the doctor said there was no abscess but probably had an infection in his tooth. Bed side manor was terrible. First he suggested a root canal...or we take out the tooth. It is a BABY tooth...why would I have a root canal done..?? He numbed him waited a bit and began putting pressure with a tool that made me son squirm and asked if it was pressure or pain. It was PAIN so I told him to please stop ...to give him more medicine which he agreed. When it came time for the pliers, not only did the dentist slip TWICE hurting him so badly he took a very hard "wiggle" back and forth as my son cried harder than I'd ever seen. I know these things aren't pleasant and will hurt regardless but the mistakes and seemingly long process was terrible. After all that horror, they have him gauze and I had to ask questions about ok- what is the after care? No instructions given until I asked. He bled through his gauze sitting there and they didn't offer any help upon leaving other than bring me to the check our desk. I had a dental emergency on a Sunday with my 10 year old who broke his teeth playing soccer. After several attempts we received no call back from the on call provider. I even specified on my messages that he was in a lot of pain. We will not be going back for this reason. Also, there is not enough room for mom to sit in exam rooms and the waiting room feels dirty. read more

At first this was my go to dentist. The dentist was alright not very sensitive when coming to talking to you when it came to what you needed done or sometimes being rude. Now I dealt with the place because they took mine and my childrens insurance . Well I went in because they said my insurance would cover my check up and a few fillings that they were taking it again for adults { yes I get state insurance but I work fulltime so take that to any haters on it} but afterwards I received a bill in the mail for 75.00 ! Which isn't much but they insisted I was covered so I called and inquired and they told me oh well we actually weren't taking your insurance we aren't sure what happened and they wouldn't work with me and sent it to collections. I went to make my children their appointments for school and they refused to set anything up for them because of my unpaid balance they decided to give to me after they said it was suppose to be covered. so we switched to DENTAL FIELDS!! which is 100% dentists are great would recommend any of them and they are amazing with children. So Dekamore Dental you can take that and shove it up your rear you are on the same level as downer dental in aurora and that's pretty freakin bad!!! read more

Went here as a last minute last resort deal because they were able to get me in that day. Will never go here again. I got a cap put on my tooth last year and since then it has come loose twice. The first time the doctor explained that it was a mistake on their part and there would be no charge. The second time they want to charge me $200 for a mistake that they made. I scheduled a regular teeth cleaning with them before I knew how horrible it was and it lasted 5 minutes if that. My advice is take your money elsewhere. read more

This has been by far the worst experience at any medical facility I have ever gone to. It to bad because I had been here in the past and had good experiences. First, I called the day before my appointment to update my insurance as it had changed with the new year. The receptionist Angela was SOOOOOOO rude to me on the phone. Even hung up on me! I should have known then not to go. Then I go to the appointment and the dentist ( last named begins with an "L" can't remember full name). REFUSED TO CLEAN MY TEETH!!!! seriously! tried to tell me I needed to get a deep cleaning (Which I have never been told this before) Dentist suggest this to patient to try to up charge the visit and in most cases it is not a necessary procedure except when you have advanced periodontal disease. I probably would not be so upset and writing this review right now if the dentist had a least cleaned my teeth. Obviously, he was to lazy to do this. I think its fine for dentist to suggest treatments for future visits to patients but to flat out NOT CLEAN MY TEETH is not acceptable. Now because I have been billed for an "exam" if you can even call it that (looked in my mouth for 3 min!) Now I can't go see another dentist for 6 month without having to pay out of pocket as I am allowed two free exams a year! I will be telling eveyone I know not to go to your establishment. Where do I begin, this place is horrible! The doctor was fairly new at practice and had no idea what she was doing. Bottom line is she was trying to convince me to go for more expensive services which were unnecessary. I was extremely upset looking at the clueless doctor and the staff. Moreover the fact that this clinic is unhygienic from inside out pushed me to my limit and I left the clinic right away. I went here for app. 4 yrs. Within that time span I had lots of dentists leave after a short amount of time working there. My more recent "new" dentist there frequently asked for supplies that the office didn't offer, meaning there were more better ways to provide care that this facility doesn't provide. But what made me finally leave was when I lost my front tooth & called the emergency number for 2 days & never got a call back. Then, when I showed up there Mon. morning, they told me I would have to wait 2 weeks for a temporary replacement tooth to be made by the lab and I would have to wait an hr. to even be seen by the dentist. Also, they had no same day solution, and expected me to walk around with a hole where my front tooth should be for 2 weeks while I wait for the lab. At that point I called Family Dental down the street. Not only did they get me in with the dentist immediately, they offered me a free temp. invisaline- style tray while I wait for my flipper tooth to be made so I can go to work w/o embarrasment. The dentists have been steady for years, staff was amazingly helpful & kind, & facilities were way nicer than Dekamore. Never going back! read more

Ok so let me start off by saying that I give Jordan (whatever's his last name is) 5 stars. He's great, did two of my fillings and have had no problems with that. But I got the Juan guy for my other three fillings and the whole procedure was painful. I tolerate pain VERY well and this was just horrible. Then after the numbness went away I had pain on all three fillings when I bit down. It's been over a month and still pain. I've gone in to get my tooth reshaped 3 times and I'm going for a fourth. The reshaping has helped tremendously but they did have to shave down some of my natural tooth. I still have a good amount of pain in one spot and what's worse is I get a new 'dentist' every time so they don't really get to understand the problem. I'm hoping that this is the last time so it can be done and I can go to a different place entirely. The only reason I continue to go here to get it fixed is so I don't get charged. Also like 80% of the receptionists are rude as heck. They can't keep their staff and I'm pissed because I literally had no pain before these supposed cavities and now my tooth is all stupid looking and it still hurts. DO NOT GO HERE. Lol also when I went to get a cleaning the lady had trouble flossing my teeth that she only did two and had me do the rest.
