On October 16th at 9am I had an appointment at Dental by High Park with Dr. Csilla Madarasz to have fillings done. I was not experiencing any pain from the cavities that I had but went in for the filling because I assume the dentist knows best.
When she did the procedure I was never warned about it being a large filling. Was never told that there was a chance I would have any kind of problems with it post filling because of the size.
On Monday October 19th after leaving a number of unanswered voicemails I returned to her because I was experiencing irritation on one tooth (Back Molar #46)
She did some adjustments to it and I was on my way. Later that day I was still having irritation I returned and she did some more adjustments. Finally the 4th time in she told me there was a chance my nerve was damaged and she would have to remove the filling and put a temporary medicated one for 4 weeks. 4 weeks later before my appointment I received a call from her office telling me she had to go to a conference and would need to move my appointment. And then a couple days later, another phone call to move it again. Finally I went in and told her in the 5th week of having the temporary filling that I was having some discomfort. I assumed it was because like anything temporary it begins to wear out. She was worried when I said that and said I would need a root canal. She removed the filling, did a pulpectomy and told me to go see a specialist.
I got a second opinion from another very competent dentist who told me my root was blocked and would need to see a specialist. It is now January 4th 2016. 4 months later I will be spending more money than ever expected to fix something that I was never initially having problems with. I am not a professional, but I feel very strongly that I am in this position because of this dentist. I am now spending thousands of dollars on consultations, a root canal, and having a crown done because of someone else's careless work, terrible doctor patient care. I have never in my life had more problems with even just contacting someone for an appointment let alone fixing a problem.
I laugh and cry a little when I look at the catch phrase on the website for Dental by High Park http://www.dentalbyhighpark.com/ "a pain free experience in a comfortable setting" That is the furthest thing from the truth. I will never return to dental by high park. And make sure everyone knows it. read more
