I went to Icon dental looking for a regular cleaning (covered by insurance) and ended up being at…read moremy appointment for 1.5 hours with no cleaning, just exams performed. The dentist and hygienist informed me that I had early stages perioral gum disease (with a few sites being 4mm which is how they stage gum disease). They also told me they would not do a standard cleaning that day and I would have to come back for a deep cleaning... which would cost $450. I was skeptical and asked many questions, they stated it would be insurance fraud if they charged my insurance for a standard cleaning and later needed a deep cleaning. Well I called my insurance and that's not how it works! I got a second opinion and was informed that all my gums were less than 2 mm and not near stages of perioral gum disease. OG dental also tried to have me do a sleep study (more money) and recommended 4 fillings. Needless to say, I was recommended an up charge for almost everything, that was deemed not necessary but a second dentist (and cheaper to get fillings done too!) That was a long review but I was very frustrated with my care here and would not recommend to anyone. Only positive was a cute front office set up.

They charged me over 500 dollars to get a mouth guard (since I grind at night which is true) that I lost shortly after getting it and tried to get them to make me a replacement immediately after I lost it at a work trip and they said it wouldn't fit and that I would need a whole new set of imprints which is incorrect. I would be skeptical of some of their recommendations. I also had a crown and it did fit correctly and they tried to fit it again and I continued to have pain with my jaw and overall the dentist didn't even come look at personally she just sent me to a specialist and said I "might" need a root canal. Now I might have a unique situation but it doesn't appear that way and this appears to be standard practice so I'll be finding a new dentist. The staff is generally friendly and the office is up to code but, at this point I don't think the dentist has done a competent job and I would not recommend them to any friends or family. Nor do they really seem like they care about the pain my teeth and jaw have been.

I understand doctors may run behind but every single visit should not warranty you waiting that long. No one answers the phones, ever. I have only been able to get an actual human on the phone once & I have been going there for multiple months for orthodontic treatment. I have spent over 45 minutes waiting for someone to pick up the phone at times & it never happens. Choosing the option for a call back to "save your spot in line" instead of waiting on the phone won't do you any justice because you will still never receive a call back. It should never take 7 calls to try & reschedule an appointment, none of those 7 times in one day did anyone respond. Front desk staff is not pleasant either. Do not reccommend. There are other local places who will give you better care but also better hospitality when it comes to communication with patients.
